Had to get an alignment after a fully rebuilt front end. Drove an hour away since it was the only place that could get me in. So as I waited outside for my vehicle I see the "tech" doing my alignment left with my truck multiple times which I figured he was just making sure everything was fine He then finishes up and drives over to where I'm standing and I greet him and he completely ignores me and walked inside. So I go inside and pay, heading home and noticed my truck was still pulling to the right so I pulled over and my wheels were completely out of wack. I should of checked before I left but After paying $130, I figured it would be okay. Well nope, had to drive back and as I'm pulling up I see the "tech" and he immediately turns around and walks into a bay. So I proceed inside and tell whoever is working the counter that my alignment was not done correctly. He said "the tech stepped out so let me drive it" then drives like a total a**hole flooring it around then comes back and says "I don't see a problem" and says there's nothing he can do lol. Every time in the last probably 3 years that I have taken a vehicle to any Mr. Tire something has not gone well so I am finally writing a review after this last experience at this location. I came in with a slow leak and I was told there is a screw and a staple in my tire. I was told the staple can be repaired but the screw is too close to the side wall to repair safely. They offers to purchase me a matching tire and mount it for approximately $250. In doing my own searching I found, and purchased, the identical tire for $120. Not only that, I took it to a shop to shave the tread to match as I have an AWD vehicle. Upon inspection of the tire, this shop found that the screw was not even an inch long and while it was stuck in the tread, it never penetrated the damn tire! So the issue they said could not be repaired, did not even need a damn repair! The other shop charged me to patch the tire where the staple was and that was it. Now I own another brand new tire which isn't all bad but I also spent money that I had no need to. Other experiences at pretty much every Mr. Tire have been the same. I have had my manual transmission vehicle stalled almost every time it has been taken to one. Can't even move the care 10 ft to the bay without stalling it. I have had my car be put back on the lot without oil in the engine for an 'oil change'. I have had my staggered fitment wheels all put on one side and thus my car was pulling hard to one side. Never go here for any type of service or repair. They will 100% rip you off, but try to make it seam like you're getting a great deal. They will never call you back. You have to follow up on your vehicle to get updates. There is zero integrity and if the same issue arises after they "repair" your vehicle and the issue still remains, they will charge you again. Worst service I've ever experienced. I've also called your customer service number. The customer service representative asked if they could call me back because they could not get a hold of anyone at the location. This was the same experience I had as a customer. Then the customer service representative never called me back. Just one disappointment after another. read more

Mr. Tire might be ok for tires and the employees are nice, but if you're going for any auto repair unrelated to tires, I would not recommend them. We are new to the area and took our car here out of familiarity and convenience (they are open late and on weekends). After having some work done and speaking with some other local mechanics, turns out we have been WAY overcharged by Mr. Tire and they up-sell like crazy, insisting you need new parts and repairs when you really don't. We will be avoiding Mr. Tire in the future as there are much better options in the area. read more

I had to reschedule an appointment to get my car inspected due to weather which was fine. I made the appointment for 7:30 am which is the time they suggested. I even called the day before to confirm this appointment and asked how long it usually takes which they told me a few hours. I show up at 7:30 am, no one even shows up to open the doors until 7:40. Then when I speak to him, he tells me that the inspector doesn't show up until 10 am and I need to leave my car there. I arranged my schedule so that I could get this done before noon. Why could this not have been communicated prior to this? This was an extreme waste of my time and extremely poor customer service. This entire place is unprofessional and inconsiderate of their customers. All in all, the entire system in this state of paying private companies for inspection is ridiculous and I will sign my car over to a family member and not even bother. read more

I took my car to Mr Tire to get a tire repair and oil change at the Nottingham, MD location. Later on that night, I started hearing a sound when I press on the gas and it began shutting off when I was driving. When I had it towed to the dealership, they said that there was no oil in the car and that the oil housing was cracked. It was shutting off in order to prevent the engine from blowing. I immediately contacted Mr Tire and the assistant manager, after talking to the dealership, stated that he would reimburse me for the repairs, oil change and rental. This was a huge expense. I called the next day and was told that the district manager would call me back. After calling several times and talking to a store manager, Frank Smith, who stated that he was just "filling in" for Romero (no last name was given), hung up on me twice and refused to give me his full name, and that Joe Tomakloe, the district manager would call me back. It was been over two weeks and no response. I think that it is unacceptable that the shop would make this kind of error, which the assistant manager that I spoke to initially stated was "common," and that I would be treated so poorly. I have taken my car to Mr Tire on numerous occasions over the past year. I thought that this was a reputable shop and company. The way that they are handling this situation demonstrates a lack of integrity and shows that they have no respect for their customers and the quality of their work. I went to mr tire in December with a flat tire from a screw and was told I needed front tires as well as back.I came back to do the rear and was told I needed to get new brake pads front and back as well as an alignment.They told me to come back to do the rear for whatever reason.I decided to get a second opinion and went to Precission tune and they told me the brake pads were like new.My Lexus has only been driven for 2 years and now I don't believe that I needed any of this work or if they did it all.Crooks! These guys were friendly and helpful. They replaced my TPS valve, fixed my AC, and replaced my tires. I was able to leave my car there and pick it up the next day. They were happy to let me leave it overnight. Called me when it was done. They've got direct TV and wifi so even waiting isn't too bad. Apparently it is ok for a mechanic to mess up your means of transportation and then hold you liable for it. I went to this location for a right front knuckle replacement and to get 4 new tires as well. Seems simple doesn't it? Boy was I wrong. First Issue I had was that the part had to be ordered from a distributor that clearly doesn't know a thing about customer service. One thing I will say this location is good at is calling you to keep you updated on pretty much anything. Back to the horror story though. So the excuse I got is "Oh the guy said the part missed the truck" .......... I am a pretty forgiving guy and I was ok with the extra time needed to get the job so I oblige, keeping the positive relationship we have going. I was not satisfied with the fact that I wasn't offered any sort of discount due to the time being pushed back but as I said I was forgiving because I got my car back finally. Fast forward a little, I decide to drive to the mall and on my way back to my home TWO TIRES BLOW OUT. Two Tires that were put on by Mr. Tire. That night I go to put my spares I have on so I can get my vehicle home safely(Nothing wrong with these tires). Fast forward a little more, the pin that holds the tie rod and strut assembly together magically comes out rendering my car useless. I had to get a tow to my home and a tow to the location this horror story began at in order for them to do an "Inspection on the car". I don't know what these guys did BUT I will say my vehicle was in the same spot AND position as I left it in the parking lot. These guys told me they will not be liable because they feel someone else touched my car........FALSE, Why would I pay yall $1200+ to fix something to have another person go behind it and mess it up? Then Kevin(Rep that called me to tell me the BS about someone else touching the car), tells me the headlights aren't the same as when I brought the car in. These two statements infuriated my soul because they were both LIES. In summary DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE BUSSINESSMEN. I've been to this shop before and had another issue where the brake caliper that was put on to replace a locked up one locked up a week or so later. I get the feeling that these guys know nothing about cars and what really sucks is I actually thought this was a reliable place where I could talk your typical "car guy" stuff with while you get your daily driver fixed. Came here to get my tire patched (boo nail). Dropped my tire off on Sunday so they could patch it (and I wouldn't have to wait). Came back on Monday and they mounted it and had me out door within 30 minutes. To make things even better, I used the free tire repair coupon from website and it really was free (didn't try to hit me up with any additional charges, or try to sell me anything extra). The worst experience ever! If I could give them negative stars, I would. Do NOT take your car here. I made a huge mistake thinking I could save money by having minor work done by Mr. Tire. I should have taken my car to BMW to have the oil change and suspension fluid replaced. I only drove it 300 miles after they serviced my car and the car needs thousands of dollars of repairs now. I should have heeded the warning sign when it took a crew to figure out where the glove compartment was. My car has NEVER had major issues until Mr. Tire on Mercantile "fixed" it. The first time I drove the car, it drove ok. The second time, I noticed a little hesitation but figured it just needed to run a while since it was sitting. I don't drive this car often bc its not my primary vehicle, garage stored and well kept. The third time, it would not drive over 2-3 miles/hr and then it completely shut off. I had to call a tow truck and have it towed to the BMW dealership. Upon inspection they were horrified. They called me at work and said they need to speak with me asap because there were issues they could not find a logical explanation for. The first question they had was where did you last have your car serviced? I told them I had it serviced at Mr. Tire. He then gives me a laundry list of mistakes. I am not saying they were intentionally negligent but they are greatly disappointing. If they lacked the experience in repairing a BMW X6 then just be honest and inform me and I would have gladly taken it somewhere else. Again the glove compartment hunt "where is Waldo" should have been a warning to me. However, oil change, brake fluid and suspension fluid seemed harmless enough. Now I regret ever leaving my car there for internal repairs. Brakes and Tires should be their only services. I have no complaints about them replacing my brakes and tires. So this review is not entirely negative but mostly. The BMW dealership keep meticulous records. So this new damage and the fact my Car SHUT OFF after only 300 miles can only logically be attributed to the work done at Mr. Tire on Merchantile. THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE, but the manager David sees no logic in this. BMW tells me that the a bulk head is cracked and it highly likely occurred when they were changing one of the fluids. The bulk head panel needs to be removed to get this accomplished. The BMW dealership was so baffled by the work, that they escorted me to the garage so they could show me the damage and allow me to take pictures. The damage to the bulk head panel allowed water to seep into the coils and cause thermal damage. Secondly, some of my coils were not even connected!! How can that even be, unless someone unscrewed the engine cover because they lacked experience with my vehicle. This along with the bulk head crack caused more damage. That is $1500 in damage that they refuse to take any responsibility for. Then they showed me where suspension fluid was spilled everywhere. Not to mention they overfilled by oil and luckily a gasket did not burst. I am waiting to hear from BMW if they were also negligent by adding the wrong oil. Again the glove compartment box should have been my warning. I spoke to David Nix, the district manager and he refused to accept any responsibility. How could a bulk head get cracked? Why are my coils water logged? Why were coils disconnected? Remember my car was running fine and NEVER needed to be towed until 300 miles after they serviced it. I drove it twice because I can't count the third time because that is when it was getting towed away. NO ONE ELSE SERVICED MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO TOWING EXCEPT MR. TIRE ON MERCANTILE RD. MY CAR NEVER TURNED OFF PRIOR. NEVER TOWED PRIOR. THEY WERE THE LAST ONES UNDER MY HOOD PRIOR TO TOWING!!!! You would think they would accept some responsibility because the damage can not be explained any other way. The tow occurred 300 miles after they ":fixed it". Do NOT take your car here if you care about quality service, responsibility and good customer service. The experience has been disappointing. I called corporate. I want accountability! Also I just found out they put in the wrong oil and overfilled my oil. They put in almost 8 quartz. Guess what? Now I have a damaged oil sensor. So make that $2100 worth of damage they are showing no responsibility for. Did the overfilled oil get there by itself? My paperwork clearly shows you placed the wrong oil. If your mechanics are so knowledgeable, the correct oil is basic information. If they failed to know this basic tidbit of information, then admit they likely failed in so many other areas. I don't like being taken advantage of. Clearly the Mr. Tire in Whitemarsh/Nottingham is irresponsible. If your mechanics did not know what they were doing and felt uncomfortable, notify your customer. Again the glove box scavenger hunt should have been my first sign. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I had a flat tire that I had changed on Sunday and went here to have it patched due to a screw being in it. They had a long wait and I had a three year old which are two things that don't mix. I had the tire in the back of my van so they said they could fix it while I ran to the mall with my little one and they would just call me when it was done which was PERFECT! While having this discussion my child wanted some candy and I responded we didn't have money for the candy (mainly because I didn't want a hyperactive kid with me.) One of the gentleman at the front desk heard this and offered to give me some change so we could to get it. I politely declined, but I couldn't even believe someone would offer that. What amazing customer service! Two hours later I got a call that my tire was patched and ready to go. I got back and the other gentleman at the front desk offered to put the tire on for me quickly and got me out of there. He empathized with me as he has a young child too and that seriously went a long way! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the amazing customer service they provided! Claimed too much rust on frame to lift truck to rotate tires yet everyone else (merchants tire firestone etc) can do so it without any problem.
