I headed into Wilmington hoping to get permanent jewelry with a pendant that was gifted to me. i was greeted with Leann R who was extremely rude as she stood there with a sour face and attempted to welcome me. i then followed her to the station where they complete the permanent jewelry. as i sat and started talking to her and telling her what i would like, she was nasty saying rude comments and rolled her eyes saying "this is not even real". I was about to leave but unfortunately i traveled 40 mins to this location and did not want to waste my time. i proceeded to make small talk discussing my other permanent bracelets saying they placed a leather cut out under the bracelet so the machine would not zap my skin. as she moved my hand under the machine, she did not place anything under my wrist and i felt multiple little shocks on my wrist which was alarming. she told me the leather cut out was not necessary. once we were finished, i walked to the register to check out where she asked if i had an account here. i told her i do not live here full time but my parents have an account. she replied with "if you are old enough to pay with your card and come here alone, they you will be put in our system, you are an adult". unfortunately i will not be returning to this location given the treatment. read more

My fiance and I cannot rave enough about Luke! Luke made all the difference for us when engagement and wedding ring shopping. Prior to Perry's, we went to several other chain stores looking for a specific style of ring and setting. We knew from the get go that it would have to be specially made, but received virtually no help from other places. We were told to go online and pick a center stone from there. Dejected, we decided to quit for the day and try another day. If only we had known before we started the hunt that Perry's Emporium was the place to go! We walked in and were immediately greeted by a friendly woman at the front door who introduced us to Luke! It was easy to tell that he is passionate about his job and sincerely wanting to help his customers. Not only did he listen to us and what we wanted, but he was knowledgeable about their inventory. When a question about configuration came into play, he went and got one of their ring designers to come out and speak with us. He made sure to cover all of the bases. He ordered in a few different center stones for us to pick from and promptly called us when they arrived to see them in person. Fast foward to the proposal, and my ring could not be more beautiful! To add the cherry on top, Perry's sent my fiance and I a holiday cake as a thank you for purchasing with them. Any other jewelry purchaes we make while we live in North Carolina will not happen anywhere else. We truly feel part of the Perry's Emporium family! My wife took her engagement ring to have it resized, only to be told by the clerk that the diamond wasn't real. I don't understand why she felt the need to check the authenticity at all but, rest assured, it is a very expensive ring from a well-known, national jeweler and the ring was independently certified. My wife probably should have just left at that moment but she had read good reviews of Perry's and wanted the job done right. So, to get past whatever mistaken belief the woman had, my wife asked me to send a photo of the certificate, which I did. She then pulled up the certificate authority's website and entered the report number, also verifying the authenticity and noting that the report # was inscribed on it. The woman basically refused to look and said, "it's fake and we won't resize it." It's a "LEO First Light" diamond, which I suppose they had never seen before. After my wife called on the verge of tears, I asked her to go to a different jeweler and get them to check it out. They verified the authenticity themselves and said that the person at Perry's must have been incompetent. I'd hate to make a personal judgment as I wasn't there, but I have to say I can't imagine how it even got to this point. My wife is not at all confrontational so I can't imagine the lady had any reason to be so unprofessional. My wife can't currently remember the lady's name but believes she is in her 50's, with dirty blonde (maybe gray-ish hair), taller than average (5'6-5'8), and had a picture of a child on her desk. If, for some reason, you decide to go to Perry's, you should do your best to avoid her. I hope this was an isolated incident caused by a disgruntled employee and not the normal experience but I can't say I would risk it. We, obviously, will not be back. read more

However I am unable to speak so highly of this location based on our experience with one of their female sales agents 12.23.21. Perhaps this sales agent was lacking diversity training or just didn't know how to handle two women looking at rings for each other. i have been to many jewelry stores up and down the coast of NC and some in SC and this is by far the best shop i've ever been in. great selection and ordered me a great diamond. i'm a little neurotic freak and went back thinking some prongs were crooked and they took the ring back multiple times to adjust it for me. prices are slightly higher but not terrible and well worth it. they were very patient and knowledgeable and talked me through things. they even gave me a beer while i sat outside thinking over my decision to buy a ring. i couldn't recommend more highly. don't waste your time at other places just go here. read more

I brought a treasured family ring to them for repair and they did a fabulous job in bringing my ring back to life for a very reasonable price. So, I decided to give them a try and I am so incredibly glad I did!! Stephanie, at the Shallotte location, was so very helpful and attentive to my desire to re-do the ring settings. She understood what needed to be done and was able to convey that to the jeweler in Wilmington. I am ecstatic with the work!!! The repair is fabulous, my ring looks brand new and I believe it will be a long time before another repair is needed, if at all. Such a great experience!! My engagement ring center stone was loose so we stopped into the store 30 minutes to close. The store was beautiful! Very clean. We were greeted warmly and immediately taken to the back to have my ring fixed. We got to watch from glass windows that look into the shop. We were in and out in under 10 minutes but not rushed- just quick attentive service. And did not cost anything. Ring looks brand new!! My experience started fair, took a few steps backward then turned out great. I've gone back on more than a few occasions since and it's hard to find a good jeweler that cares about people and business. After a little mix-up Perry personally called me to sort everything out, and took GREAT care of me. He also remembered my name and fostered the relationship down the line and has always shown respect, and made bargain deals. His commercials are actually spot on when he talks about customers. the rolex overhaul lasted 6 months. returned the watch to have the moisture removed. again the watch was repaired (??) and returned to me. the watch leaked again 4 or 5 months later and i returned it. ( there had been a 1 year warranty). this time i was told the crystal was damaged and they would have to charge me $150 to repair. the crystal has broken 2 times in the 20 years i have had the watch. so i wonder why the crystal just happen to break or leak twice in the last year. i just took my watch and left the store. this watch was purchased when perry's was still in the mall and through the years i would visit the store for any jewelry interest. in the past Alan Perry had always given me a fair deal, with all the new people just trying to make a sale the atmosphere in the store has changed. enough said.. in the future i will patronize another store.. read more

I have not purchased anything here, but I can tell you it looked like many do. Store was very crowded on a Wednesday morning. But this review concerns selling gold jewelry to Perry's. I had some older pieces that I was thinking of getting rid of. I had seen Perry's commercial and decided to go there. From the young woman who greeted customers and answered the phone, to the sales people, and finally Jacob who gave me a price, all were polite and kind. I was a little uncomfortable with the idea, but everyone was so nice. Jacob was professional and clear in explaining how the process works. I went to 2 other places for comparison and there was none. One place advertises " best price guaranteed". It was a theatrical presentation with little professional content. At the end THEY asked ME what I was looking to get for the pieces.
