Worst company ever, I work at Midas and one of their tow trucks was sent to my shop to pick up a junk car, the driver hit my jeep and tore up one of my xd825 Buck -44 rims, Andy, the boss at Perrys was not cooperative at all and refused to compensate for these one off $3400.00 wheels. I have an 87 caprice classic, the car stalled on the freeway at 10:00 am, 4 blocks from my home, so I called Perry's because they were close to the freeway and my home where I wanted it towed to. after they got to my home the charge for the tow was $100.00 to tow it 4 four blocks. My daughter and 2 of her friends were stranded near Boonville, Exit 117 on I 80 in West Des Moines. I googed towing services in West Des Moines and Perry's towing came up. I saw online that they had good reviews for fair pricing and called right away to get the 3 young girls towed to safety. He said it would be about 45 minutes because no one wants to work. When they arrived they towed them 10 miles down the road and gave us a bill for $150.00 saying that they gave us a discount as usually they would charge closer to $175. When I called to find out why it was so expensive he told me they considered West Des Moines out of town and they charge a minimum fee of $150. From Perry's towing to I 80 Exit 117 to Firestone in Waukee it is about 30 miles. If you look at rates for towing what we were charged is on the high end of expected rates for towing. I feel like Perry's took advantage of a very terrible situation and I would not recommend them to anyone who needs a tow. Shame on you Perry's Towing for taking advantage of an already terrible situation! read more

The person who answered instead of simply saying no proceeded to lecture me on his business model, how he runs it, and why he would never pre schedule a tow. Very happy with my experience with Perry's. I hit a patch of black ice, slide into the median, and threw off my car's alignment. Perry's picked me up about 30 min later. I've used Perry's Service & Towing twice and had outstanding experiences both times. The first time I had a stalled car towed in and had a starter replaced. The second was AC service and blower fan speed selector repaired. In both cases the service was done well, in good time, and at reasonable cost. The business looks semi-abandoned from the outside and very old. Not that that is the most important thing when it comes to an auto shop, but it doesn't give a great first impression. I was having trouble with a slow leak in my tire (I had refilled it about 10 times in the past month and the other three tires were not affected, so I knew it wasn't just the cold) and wanted to get it patched or replaced, should that be necessary. They removed my tire and checked for leaks - they said that they couldn't find any but said that something on my tire (I don't know cars) was loose, so they said that they would just fit it back into place and put it back on my car. They did it for free, which was very kind of them, but my tire remained leaky and problematic after this "repair." I've since taken my car to a different garage. read more

Tonight I ran out of gas while picking up my kids from day care. I showed up there, I'd run out of gas two blocks away, the guy at the door says he is locking up, they close at 6 PM. I look up at the large digital clock right above his head, at that exact moment it clicked from 6:00 to 6:01. He then let me know I could go to the Auto Parts store to get a can, a block in a half in one direction, then hike to the Kum and Go a block in a half in the other direction. He described where the Auto Parts store was two times, so there can be no doubt that he understood what I needed and the hole I was in. And I was already late picking up my kids. I was in need, they turned me away, and it would have only taken a couple of minutes, end of story. read more
