I was sent here from my doctor for a prescription. I walked in confused as I immediately saw it was a restaurant. A few steps through the restaurant and there was the pharmacy. There were two pharmacists working. One was friendly, the other was not but she wasn't rude, simply focused. I appreciated getting a phone call from them earlier in the day. They confirmed my prescription, let me know it was not covered by insurance and that it would be out of pocket. I really appreciated this phone call discussing this Information before hand before traveling here and being taken aback. They filled it quickly and said it would be ready in an hour. She asked me to pay over the phone which I also appreciated so that pickup was quick and seamless (especially with a baby), I was even tempted to stay and have a nice meal after picking up my prescription. Everyone was enjoying themselves and it wasn't the worse way to spend a Saturday! read more

Very cute concept. I liked that this place was attached to a pharmacy. It's a one stop shop so to speak. My daughter and I stopped in on our way to pick up some items. We ordered a crab cake sandwich, which was very yummy with macaroni salad, and also another sandwich that my daughter ordered on a biscuit. The biscuit completely fell apart while my daughter was attempting to eat it, but she liked it non the less. The staff was friendly, and I would recommend to anyone in the general are. read more

I've been a fan of Person Street Pharmacy since the 1980's. So yes, I'm old and don't like change! I understand the concept of your changes regarding more upscale offerings, but I would highly recommend you bring back your old staple of hot dogs!! What's a pharmacy cafe without hot dogs? This is our neighborhood pharmacy and they're always so friendly and helpful and very quick with fulfilling prescriptions. We go forward the convenience of the location but the service is so remarkable it's worthwhile to go out of your way to patron this local shop. read more

This is such a cute space for breakfast! The place is also a pharmacy, and I've always wondered how many people actually come here to get food vs refill a prescription. They also serve lunch, but I've had both and think that their breakfast options are yummier (less $$ too!). When the weather is nice, you have the option to sit outdoors but there's also plenty of seating inside. From the breakfast menu, I've had the Uncle Mack's which has country ham, blackberry-honey jam, NC blue cheddar, and poached egg on a biscuit. The portion size was actually rather large, and the blackberry-honey jam was to die for. I also love their jelly bar! It's right off to the side of the counter where you order food, and you can sample all kinds of jellies with your biscuit. So delicious! From the lunch menu, I've had the roast turkey sandwich off of their lunch menu with a side of macaroni salad. I actually really liked the overall flavor as it contained spinach and feta with rosemary mayo (YUM), but the turkey slices were a bit too thick for me to enjoy eating the sandwich as a whole. They do have many other sandwiches to try though, so I would definitely be willing to order another. Also, surprisingly, their protein shakes are really tasty and don't taste terribly sweet. What a sweet little spot. I want to come here every single day. I want to transfer all my scripts to this local business. I want to support them fully and hug them and kiss them and embrace them for being unique. But even more importantly, I want to love them passionately because they have a cure that ails you, even more than medicine.....their BISCUITS. I told my dining companion, I am *almost* reluctant to share the secret, but I think this business very much deserves the accolades. Some of the most friendly staff ever. Great service. Perfect coffee by Oak City Coffee Roasters and the BISCUITS. They are as big as you face and full of flavor. They are messy. They are sloppy. They are delicious. I tried the country ham. It was heavenly. And there is a.....wait for it..... homemade jam bar. Go put this on your biscuit. On your face. Everywhere. I'm serious. This stuff probably cures many a disease. By far the best breakfast I've had in months. I want to come again (soon) for lunch. Maybe like tomorrow. read more

A working pharmacy + a bar + a restaurant? Yes, this place will make you do a double take. This Person Street district is defined by these type of eclectic places and this place is one of the staples that everyone should visit at least once. The sandwiches change fairly regularly and my favorite is the duck. It's a little pricey but then again ducks don't grow on trees so it's worth it. The games they have here just add to the funky character. My only suggestion is that I wish they stayed open later! This would make for a great late night spot. I may drop off a chess set to help attract the nerdy crowd. read more

Eh sorry ..but the old style pharmacy was way better stocked . Dropped in to get some bobby pins and now they have very little selection and everything is displayed almost white cube style . I understand you have 80 types of toothbrushes and two lint rollers that need half a foot of shelf space .. And now local greeting cards you can buy in pretty much every other hip boutique or store downtown. Boring !!! This cafe looks like every other cafe in Raleigh and I was pretty amused at the $8 hotdog . You could come here and get a grilled cheese and soup or a chicken salad sandwich for $4 before whole enjoying the genuine vintage interior . What a shame . Maaaaan, I remember when this place was a hole in the wall kind of diner, consisting of mostly cheap (and delicious) hotdogs and simple sandwiches....My how times have changed! Fast forward to 2016 and I am crazy impressed with the creative and delicious sandwich combos, with a nod back to their roots with some classic and delicious sides! Whatever sandwich you decide on, be sure to order the macaroni salad! I could eat this as it's own standalone meal it's so good! It's very simple and classic! Service is good and the food comes out pretty quickly (on busy afternoons right at lunch be ready to wait about 10-15 minutes though) and i've always enjoyed my lunch choices! I've also tried a few of their drink options, but as someone who isn't much of a soda drinker these didn't impress me as much. The updates on the look, feel and taste of Person Street Pharmacy are all very well received...I only wish they had kept some of the prices from before. $9 for lunch is a BIG difference than being able to get out of there with a hotdog, chips and a drink for around $4 like back in college (which was only 5 years ago mind you!) But price aside this place rocks! I'll definately be in again! read more

I love Person Street RX - both the pharmacy and the cafe. The pharmacy: always very quick to fill my prescription, and it's nice that a human always answers the phone instead of having to be directed thru a recording to speak with the pharmacist. Staff is super friendly as well. The cafe: I've had the portobello & hummus, LGBT, turkey and bacon, and bleu chicken salad and would recommend all of them. Favorite is the LGBT. Overall I recommend stopping by this little cafe to enjoy a sandwich or salad while you wait for your scripts. read more

We LOVE this place. They are so friendly and accommodating...they figure out a couple vegan options for us every time and they seem genuinely happy to do it. It's so appreciated!! And it's DELISH. (These are off-menu so just ask nicely!). The jam bar even has a few options that are vegan friendly, and it goes great with one of their housemade English muffins piled high with a mound of fresh veggies! After being thoroughly and repeatedly disappointed by the more official veg brunch place downtown and their mediocre food simply because they're vegan friendly, we are super happy to find a great brunch spot. They also have a breakfast burrito jammed with all sorts of great vegetables. They definitely don't phone it in! Sweet potatoes, roasted cherry tomatoes, shiitakes, black beans, and perfectly wilted kale. Throw a couple freshly pickled jalapeños from the lunchtime pickle bar into the peach jam and it's SO. GOOD. The hours for the cafe on Saturday are till 4, even though yelp says the close at noon. And all their paper/plastic goods are compostable. I love when people give a crap, I'll totally pay an extra few cents per meal for that. read more

So disappointed in how this pharmacy treated my mother when she came in to fill her prescription. It was honestly a traumatic experience and I am saddened that happened. Very upsetting how rude and unwilling to help they were. The pharmacist claims she felt threatened and therefore called the police but that was not the case. My mother was calm and polite and asked if they could call her insurance to figure out why her copay was much higher than it should be. The pharmacist begrudgingly agreed but told her it could take an hour to resolve. She said okay and then decided to call them herself as she was in a rush to get back to watch my kids so I could leave for work. She quickly resolved the issue and insurance just needed to speak to the pharmacist to override the issue (she's from out of state). When she came up to the counter and politely asked if the pharmacist, Emily could please talk to them she has resolved the issue, Emily refused and told her to sit down, the other pharmacist in the back was working on it. My mother asked again, could she please just talk to them, the issue is resolved. At this point the pharmacist, Emily, gets very frustrated with her and raised her voice and says SIT DOWN! My mother then gets upset that she's being spoke to like that so she raises her voice back and refuses to sit down. This is when Emily threatens to kick her out but my mom continues to defend herself (without cursing or threatening her in any way). Emily knows she is in a position of power so decides to call the police on her. All this could of been avoided if she was kind and willing to help her by simply taking the phone to talk to her insurance. My mother is always polite and is one of the sweetest people you would meet, she didn't deserve this kind of treatment. read more

Cannot give enough praise to this place. At first, their hours kept me from filling my prescriptions there. But when I learned that they would deliver your prescriptions within the area, I signed up. Ever since then, I have experience such personal, genuine care - something that I have never gotten at one of the big box pharmacies. Not only will they have your prescription ready in minutes, but they really work with you to make sure you're getting what you need. An example: I suffer from chronic migraines, and my insurance will only process a certain number (a very small number) of pills at a time. I was about to go on vacation and was worried about running out of medicine while out of the area. I figured I would cough up the money for the medicine uncovered my insurance. When I asked for the uncovered cost, the folks at Person Street told me I was out of refills - and my doctors office was closed, and I was leaving for vacation the following day. They promised I wouldn't go without. They helped me get a refill and charged me only $5 over what the covered insurance cost would be. Such awesome service to make sure I would enjoy my time away. Don't hesitate to use them. Oh, and the food is so good! Try the BBQ. read more

Really great breakfast and coffee selections. Sit up at the bar or find a seat in the small seating area. Arrive early and often. They have great free water and fixing (sauces) and cream and sugar and lots of games for kids and adults. read more

Cool little spot in an awesome neighborhood. When I came here for brunch, I got the breakfast burrito which was good but I definitely did regret not getting something with those huge biscuits that everyone I went with got - they looked amazing! This place seems like a perfect low-key coffee/breakfast place to come, meet people, do some work at, etc. The only negative thing I can say is that it's small with minimal seating and there are games on the tables, so toward the end of our brunch, our table was crowded and we were almost forced to wrap it up and leave a little quicker. But, I guess that's to be expected at most breakfast/brunch places in Raleigh on a Saturday. read more

I live in the neighborhood and this is what I'd like to see thrive here. The pharmacy has been very helpful (ordered the shampoo i wanted, called me 2 days later to say it was in; I let them know we go through bottles of that stuff so if they want to stock it, we'll buy it. Plus the price was better than other places.) They had lactaid tablets that I needed. Eye drops for allergies. And my daughter and I shared lunch last week that was very good- the chicken salad, which I had on top of the kale salad. Everything tasted really fresh and there were lots of other things on the menu we wanted to try. I have yet to switch my Rx's over to their pharmacy but I'll likely be doing that soon. I personally don't need them to have every little thing I need- there are other stores for that. I want neighborhood stores! And here we have one and I think it's done well, so consider getting to know it! read more

Literally the best pharmacy I've ever dealt with. Not only will they take care of transferring prescriptions over from a different pharmacy, but they'll even deliver your prescription for free if you're in the raleigh area! Seriously these guys and girls are the best and make what used to be a hassle be super easy. 10/10 and I will never go anywhere else! read more

Kale salads and braised duck sandwiches are a far cry from when the previous incarnation of this place offered a grilled American cheese with a side of coleslaw. Hey, if we can't gentrify the local pharmacy, what the hell are we fighting for? That said, this is a nicely conceptualized breakfast/lunch spot with a pharmacy on the side. Pick up a delicious sandwich and grab a tasty local beer on tap to help wash down those Percocets the nice pharmacist lady gave you so you can cope with that thing you have. It's the best of all worlds, really. They have a large communal table, but there's bar seating and a few small tables if you don't like sharing your space (what, you think you're better than me?), the staff is personable, and the food is excellent as far as sandwiches and salads go - others can maybe speak to the breakfast menu as that's not really my bag. I recommend the haloumi cheese sandwich and I'm giving them extra points for stocking a variety of hot sauces and having an assortment of all things in-house pickled. The pharmacy side has all of the essentials, but if you're stopping in for cat litter and lotto tickets I think you're going to be disappointed. They don't have every shape and size of band-aid and they might not even have your favorite brand of pomade because space is limited, but you'll likely find a reasonable option no matter your needs. All in all, this is a solid establishment where my only gripe would be that I wish they were open just an hour or two later than the 6pm by which they currently shutter the doors. read more

We live pretty close to this spot and saw they added breakfast and we were super excited. So we went and gave it a shot and it was amazing! I had the Pedro and my fiancée had the classic biscuit and they were both wonderful and HUGE. They are priced really fair as well. Will definitely make this a weekly occurrence! read more
