They tried to say this was a $16.00 steak now on sale for $10.00. It probably has 4 good bits. Please

The package said this was a $16 steak but now on sale for $10 and there's probably about four bites in it so then you could probably read a newspaper through it

Lovely Village District location and very nice service. They went through a bit of a renovation recently and though this is a mid-sized HT, it does include a hot bar and soup & salad bar with nice selections, as well as a fresh pizza station and a chef's station up front. And sshhh, secret: It is also one of our favorite Starbucks. Far more consistent than corporate locales lately. The baristas are always bright and cheerful, they've never once been out of anything, and they always get our orders correct. Avoid grocery if possible on weekends. Parking and aggressive driving in the lot can be a comically stressful. Also, if you are waiting in line at the register and someone offers to check you out in self checkout, decline politely. LOL. They will not actually help before getting pulled away, and you'll end up bagging and checking out yourself and will have lost your place in the other line.

Snack time, I stopped in to this Teeter for some things to have in the hotel room. As I have come to expect from the Harris Teeter chain, the store is brightly lit and well stocked. They are doing some construction and remodeling right now (August 2019) so it's not perfect but the store is still completely functional. Produce, deli, frozen, fresh meats, seafood and dairy. All perfectly stocked with prices clearly displayed. They're a bit more expensive than others because it's a better shopping experience. The parking lot could use a redesign but with the road where it is, they're kind of stuck. Just keep an eye out for the idiots cutting through and not watching. [Review 11633 overall, 1414 of 2019.]

Whenever out of state visitors check out Harris Teeter, they're always surprised at the name. Yeah, yeah, it's rough having a name that sounds like a body part! But who cares, Harris Teeter is the best grocery store in NC until Wegmans or Publix shows up. The Cameron Village location is one of the busier ones I've been to since there aren't many ITB. And you get all types here: office workers, young professionals, State kids and the occasional tottering grandma! So I agree with Brian, it's always good for people-watching. Update: Sunday afternoon/evening seems to be a great time to visit if you're a hetero male... The layout is standard supermarket, all the veggies, dairy and frozen round the edges and the dry staples in the middle. This location has a nice cheese section and prepared foods section. Can't beat a rotisserie chicken for $4.99 and there's even a sushi bar! The produce section is pretty deep and typically has some good local offerings. There's even a nice wine section, though I can't vouch for the prices. Cashiers are well-trained and professional, Harris Teeter always does a nice service-wise. And the 8 self-checkout registers are pretty simple to use. There's even a balloon corral up front if you'd like to treat junior for behaving himself on your visit to the supermarket. At home I get regular emails (e-Vic) from Harris Teeter that notifiy me on the latest sale and items that might be of interest, very nice! Not all supermarkets are created equal and although you might pay a little more at Harris Teeter, you gets what you pays for!

Breakfast!

I was extremely excited to find that they have breakfast sandwiches and burritos each morning because they rank very high on my list of favorite foods. I stopped by this morning to try out the burrito -- oh man, did it disappoint! You order from the deli counter where they make the subs, and you can get bacon, sausage, or chicken. I chose a bacon burrito, which also comes with egg and cheese. You get to select which tortilla (flour, wheat, or spinach) as well as which cheese (American, provolone, or a couple other options) you'd like. The bacon and egg are both precooked, understandably, but the egg was frozen from the start. Sure, I don't expect some freshly-cracked egg, but it was still cold when I got my burrito -- ew. Worse, it was not distributed in the burrito at all (imagine a pre-cooked egg circle, cold, placed on one end of a tortilla, then rolled up). The bacon tasted pretty good and the cheese was better quality than you'd expect in a breakfast burrito. I enjoyed those parts of it. Beyond the egg issues, though, the big problem was the lack of filling compared to the size of the tortilla. It was a large, wrap-sized tortilla filled with just a couple small slices of bacon, a little bit of cheese, and that single egg disk. So when eating it, not only was it half cold, but it was nearly all tortilla. I love the taste of tortilla, but at a certain point the burrito was just difficult to eat. I'd be open to trying the breakfast sandwich, but I definitely won't ever order the burrito again. Plus HT is still solid as a grocery store, hence the 3 star rating.

It's hilarious to me -- and honestly very fitting, considering I'm married to someone from…read moreRochester -- that my 1,000th Yelp review is for Wegmans. I don't usually review grocery stores, but I genuinely love Wegmans, and this location in particular is fantastic. The store is always immaculate, the staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and it's usually very well stocked every time I go. I'll agree with other reviewers that Wegmans can feel a little pricier than some other grocery stores, but I've never actually sat down and compared receipts because, frankly, I love the products they carry. At this point, I'm a forever Wegmans girlie. Also, they keep sending me 10% off coupons, so apparently the marketing team knows exactly what they're doing -- because I absolutely will drive farther than necessary for a good grocery experience. Beyond the standard grocery selection, their prepared foods section is HUGE, and the sushi is genuinely good. Grocery store sushi can be a gamble, but Wegmans does it so well they even opened their own sushi restaurant in NYC, which is a pretty fun flex. As a bonus, they carry all the essential Western New York staples: Chiavetta's sauce, Spiedie sauce, kummelweck rolls, Zweigle's whites and reds, Bills merch, Weber's mustard, Labatt Blue and Blue Light, plus several Finger Lakes wines. Big fan!

Well, if you know you know. And I could end my review there but you opened my review up to read…read moresooooooo ... F what you know about grocery stores because Wegmans is the King of High End Grocery. I'll immediately tell you that my star bump is because of cost and no dining at this location ("trust me bro", that's not really a major deciding factor). I've been to locations that offer up dining and amazing draft beer options, and costs at Wegmans aren't for the faint of heart but, in my Jim Carey voice, "lemme tell you somethinnnnn" ... their options will appease all types of food diets. Hands down, they have the BEST sushi options around. Fresh rolls, fresh sashimi, fresh nigiri ... the freshest and best you'll get at a non-Asian grocery store. Now you'll pay close to restaurant prices but it's well worth it. That is why I keep coming back to this location. And for beer and wine snobs, they got yo butt covered! I'd say 10-15% of the store is just wine and beer. Domestic and Foreign, as well as local. Gluten free brats, eat your heart out! I wandered down the gluten free aisle and got me some goodies! Gluten free Oreos and cereal . Wegmans brand is like a top tier option from Publix brand. And that's saying a lot, considering Publix brand is a galaxy away from Kroger brand. There are so many savory options here, including all the buffet stations. Listen, I just left here for my 5th time in (out of town but visiting for work) and will need to stop my review before my tummy forces me back there. Those in the know ... you're lucky to have this as an option here. Those out of the loop ... get some!!

Jerusalem Bakery & Grocery has most of what you need for cooking Arabic food I will say flat out its the best pita bread on the east coast. When i visited other cities family there would ask me to bring pita bread when I came. The meat, cheese and spinach pies are fantastic. The cheese pies are my personal favorites. The family that owns this place is really nice, and will be even more pleased and solicitous if you show a genuine appreciation for their food. Oh, and they have a dessert that I can never remember the name of, but which is also wonderful and difficult to find - it's the one made of filo dough with cheese inside and attar (the sweet sticky sauce) on top. I have yet to see it anywhere else in the U.S, and they do a good job of it. Like many bakeries, they bake early in the morning and sell until its gone. So best selection and quantity is going to be in the mornings. For the visit on Jan 7, 2025, I got 3 meat pies, 12 cheese pies, 4 pita bread bags, and 1 sesame date cookie package which is also a favorite of mine. Total $51.14. An important pro tip is that the pies and pita bread all freeze great. so go ahead and eat 1 pie while its warm, because it likely will be, and then quickly freeze the rest. Then, warm it up in a toaster oven.

It's very close to the state farmer's market, which makes it convenient for me…read more To tell you the truth, I was a little disappointed at the size of the produce area. The produce looked fine but it doesn't compare to H Mart's produce area as far as variety and size. But H Mart is in Cary and if that is not convenient for you, this will work just fine. I'm a flour tortilla girl and they looked a lot like the fresh tortillas I had in Texas. The tortilla section consisted of corn, but they had plenty of flour and some cactus. (Update: Ok, I am NOT claiming to be an authority on flour tortillas by any means. But having lived in Austin for over 20 years and having near-unlimited access to HEB's house brand tortillas when they are so fresh the package is almost too hot to hold, I'm not a tortilla newb, either. I have to say - and I am almost embarrassed to say this - I liked Trader Joe's flour tortillas a lot more than these. TJ's reminded me of HEB's. These tortillas got stiff when I heated them in my cast iron skillet.) Large section of dried beans. Some of it surprisingly expensive, but as I said, they have a large selection so they had reasonably priced ones too, nearly an entire aisle of them. What I was drawn to was their selection of sodas (or "fun drinks", as we call them in my house because I am a mean mom who doesn't let my kid drink soda). Of course they had Mexican Coke and Jarritos, and they also had banana and grapefruit sodas, which I had never seen before. And they also had Topo Chico, which I haven't been able to find since moving to NC from Texas! Only mineral water, no lime. I love their cheese section - I wish I had taken pictures. I saw Salvadorean and Honduran cheeses and cream, which I would love to try in the future. I don't live that close but am willing to put this in my regular rotation, especially if no other grocery near me carries Topo Chico.
