We highly recommend Personal Power Martial Arts! My husband and I attend twice a week with our two sons (4 and 7 years old), and we are extremely pleased with the program. Master Zohar has a great sense of humor and makes classes fun while helping the kids develop discipline and push themselves. His black belt instructors who assist with classes provide opportunities for class members to get one-on-one practice and are wonderful examples of how much his students can achieve if they stick with it. We love that Master Zohar focuses a lot on character development in addition to exercise and martial arts skills. He discusses cultivating grit, focus, and a winning attitude, how to handle bullies, and how to push past mistakes. It has really helped our kids develop confidence and self-esteem. It also gives us as parents great language to use when we run into issues at home. We frequently say, "Would Master Zohar say this is an example of stinkin' thinkin' or a winning attitude?" or "Are you going to give up or give it your best?" or "This is tough, but you know you are tougher!" The kids also love working to earn Leadership Cards, and we love the ability to choose our own class schedule. Want to give a huge shoutout to Master Ran Zohar from Personal Power Martial Arts. Josh, Danny & I are now about 1 1/2 years into our mixed martial arts training, and the effects are amazing. For the boys - their focus with school and activities has never been better. Learning how to stand up to bullies, to stick up for themselves, their confidence has been amazing, and it's infectious! Danny, my 7 year old, has assembled a team of kids to stop other kids from bullying. It's taught my kids about focus, about goal setting and achieving. It's developed their sense of self. They've grown so much since beginning their training! For me - I began my quest to learn mixed martial arts back in 1987, and gave it up too soon. Coming back and learning this second time from Master Ran Zohar is a completely different and much more rewarding experience. When my son started at PPMA we we're looking for something to hold his interest and anything to teach self-discipline. Team sports weren't hitting the mark so we decided to look into karate. The PPMA website really spoke to what we were looking for and it has definitely delivered! After just one class, he told us to sign him up and he knew he wanted to someday become a "black belt". We discussed what's expected of a black belt and the time commitment but it didn't deter him. Though going to sports and other practices was a struggle for our screen-loving 8-year-old, we were pleasantly surprised to find him jumping at the chance to go to karate multiple times each week. PPMA had helped tremendously with his self-confidence and taught him to take pride in what he does -- in turn, making him a better listener, learner, and helper in school and at home. Personal Power Martial Arts has changed my perspective of what a dojo should consist of. I have always thought that martial arts was about sparring, hitting, punching, kicking, and being able to take down an opponent or be punished. Our daughter has been taking lessons here for about 2 months now and it's amazing to see the changes brought about! We thought it would be good for her not only from a self-protection aspect, but also for her personal growth and self-confidence. Each week we seem to see her take on additional responsibility around the house - helping out voluntarily where before she'd rather iPad. She speaks with more confidence and clarity, especially to adults. One of the most obvious changes is for many things that we used to have to ask 3 or 4 times for her to do, she does either without asking or with us just saying it once. We signed up for the Black Belt Leadership course several years ago. It turned out to be a great value- my two girls have continued with it and have the goal of earning their black belts. I'm lucky enough to be able to attend along with them (it was a Family package) and I've really enjoyed not only experiencing the class with my girls but also seeing them try new things and get a great workout. The Black Belt Leadership program teaches confidence and respect. Master Ran incorporates an element of fun into the classes keeping the kids engaged and enthusiastic. Master Zohar is the best martial arts and teacher I know. He is skilled at helping his students build confidence, both in their own martial arts skills, and in themselves. Master Zohar has a great team of black belts as class instructors. The class size is perfect, the availability of classes is great, and the location is ideal. Besides learning Taekwondo, students gain life skills in self control, dealing with bullies, making good decisions, self defense, and perseverance. My children and I have been going to Personal Power Martial Art for a few years. Master Zohar is a very dedicated martial artist and a teacher who cares about the learning experience as well as the outcome. His classes are not only about Taekwondo moves and techniques but also about 5 tenants of Taekwondo that help our next generation build their foundation to become responsible adults. Master Zohar has an amazing way with kids. He gets them to try and do things beyond what they thought they could do. My son's self esteem has been off the charts since stating a year and a half ago.
