My son has been going to Goldfish Swim school at Mt. Laurel location for the past 2 years and he LOVEs Goldfish! He started out with no experience being in the pool ever and after a year or so, I can see he has made great progress! The staff is super nice and professional! They have free family times from 12-1pm every Tuesdays and Thursdays and we do take advantage of that to get my son more practice in the water!

Swim class. The instructors are friendly and fun. Each age group/ level has their own section. 1 parent per session.

I really enjoy taking my son to this swim school. He has become so comfortable in the water. A lot of the exercises that are taught in class I'm able to implement during bath time or when swimming a the lake near my home. Not only are the lessons practical for parents to teach their little ones but the staff is so flexible with scheduling. A couple of weeks into my son's lesson I got a new job so my schedule changed and they allowed me to change the days. There was also a time I couldn't make the class due to a co flick with time and they allows me to come in at a time that worked with my schedule that day. The classes are small so my son gets attention from the instructor but the focus is main on parents bonding with the babies so we are going through the exercises with them. The changing rooms are good sizes, especially the family room. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The water in the pool is a comfortable temperature. Lastly, The price is fair and probably the best because I was shopping around prior to making my decision.

Our kids love Goldfish and getting the ribbons for different achievements!

If you're looking for a low cost place to swim near Mount Laurel, NJ - this is it!…read more The Wahoos Swim Club's main purpose is youth swim teams. But during the day, they open to lap/fitness swimmers like me. Current hours (Jan, 2020) are 7-3pm. 25 yard pool, 7 lanes. No weekend lap swimming. But at an annual cost of $310 for an adult membership (less than $26/month), Wahoos is the most affordable pool I know of. And here's another huge plus: cooler pool temps - usually between 79-82... and one more awesome Wahoo's quality: low chemical levels in the pool. The club just underwent a thorough remodel - very clean and neat, but basic - not all dolled up like the $$$$ health clubs. I've never seen it over busy during lap swim hours. For my money, it's a great value!

This is a nice deal, so I don't have to join a separate gym or pool to swim. That said, if my gym didn't have that deal, I would not join Wahoos outright. Their open lane hours are very limited (6:15 AM. to 3:00 PM. during the week, and some later night hours on the weekends), and basically the only time I am able to get there is at 6:15 AM., before work. It seems that this swim club mainly caters to swim TEAMS, and not the individual athlete. Because of that, the pool is pretty full at that time of morning, as the before-work crowd is all trying to get in. I can't imagine actually paying for a membership to this pool with such limited hours. The facility is a bit dated, but clean nonetheless. The 8-lane pool is always clean and a nice temperature - I'm comfortable in the water after only 1 lap, and never overheated. There are plenty of kick-boards for use, and the life guards on duty are always pleasant. For now, I will continue to utilize the Wahoos pool since it is included in my gym membership, but I'd really prefer to have more options as to what time of day I can swim.

The front desk team is always friendly, flexible, and incredibly helpful when it comes to scheduling make-up classes. A special shoutout to coaches Maribel and CJ --they've been exceptionally professional, patient, friendly and consistently encouraging. Their clear instruction and positive energy have truly boosted our daughter's confidence and swimming skills. I also highly recommend the Summer Clinic Program--the daily evaluations really accelerated her growth and gave us great insight into her progress. It's a safe, supportive, and fun place for any child to learn to swim.I highly recommend it to other parents!

Her current instructor is beyond amazing though. Our biggest problem with Bear Paddle is the facility. It feels disgusting. I understand the locker room will be wet, but the floor always looks dirty too, and it doesn't feel just wet, but slimy. It smells like strongly of urine half the time, and sometimes feces. Which leads me to believe they don't clean well enough and they likely need their drains cleaned. The floors in the changing rooms have gunk buildup. The walls are filthy. They need a professional cleaning service to clean multiple times a week, the floors need an acid wash and to be disinfected everyday. The walls need to be cleaned. I don't want to sound harsh or nit picky, I just don't think it's asking too much for cleanliness to be a high priority in a facility where kids and families change and expose their bodies to water, floors, benches, etc. Particularly for what they charge, considering they don't offer more flexible payment setup options. I don't want to keep my bank info on file, and the fees for cards are obnoxious---the tuition never seems to stay the same month over month either. Again, really do love most of the staff and instructors--and I love how far our kids have come by going here. But I'm to the point where we are probably going to have to switch schools, because I can't risk my young ones by exposing them to whatever is going on with that locker room.

We had the pool all to ourselves for a few hours under the supervision of 2 lifeguards, and it was just the best. My daughter enjoyed herself, and I felt safe with her there, even though at 5 she is not a strong swimmer. We were initially fairly happy with lessons at Kids First. Our son made decent progress (despite some issues with constantly changing teachers and repetitive classes that don't focus on individual needs). There were a few times we thought about canceling, but he enjoyed swimming so much that we continued. When we eventually spoke to the manager about suspending/canceling our account in June 2024 because we were going away, she happily agreed citing 30 days notice and that she would process it for us on the spot. This is where our issues started. Unfortunately we trusted her word and having had lessons there for around 10 months, we had no reason not to. We have since found out that even though we haven't attended any lessons since July 15th (no one contacted us concerning the lack of attendance) they have continued to charge us. Not only is the lack of contact alarming, it clearly shows how little they actually care about the children. For almost 4 months they happily processed our payments without ever once wondering where our child was. So now, because we trusted the manager who either forgot (unlikely because we were stood right there as she said she was processing it), or decided she could get away with overcharging us, we are out hundreds of dollars. We will be opening a formal dispute with the CC company, but I wish Kids First would have just done the right thing. They have offered a credit towards family swims or future classes, but we aren't thrilled at the prospect of having to do business with them or trusting them with our child in any way after this experience. Unfortunately since this happened, I have looked closer at some of their negative reviews and can see that this isn't an isolated incident. Such a shame, because some of the staff and teachers were great. Just terrible business practices.

He admitted he all he did was check people in and knew nothing else. We sat directly next to the front desk at the stools closest to the pool for 15 minutes without hearing her name called. I figured "maybe they are running behind" I asked again and this time the front desk guy states she should have been with Gianna Papa. I thought to myself "Why was this information not provided originally???" He pointed out Gianna and I walked over to ask if she had called the 11:30 appointments yet. By this time it was approximately 11:50/11:55. Gianna said she called my daughter's name "twice" and no one answered so she just moved on to her other 2 students. She blamed us saying " the other girls heard their names called " meaning we weren't paying attention. Gianna then called Alek Combs over who continued to blame us stating "Gianna called her name" and "why did we wait so long to ask about our lessons if we were just sitting here?" Gianna and Alek lacked professionalism and blamed us. They took zero responsibility for running their shifts and their lack of accountability for their students. I have no faith in their abilities as instructors/coaches/ temporary guardians of my daughter while she would be under supervision in the pool. As me and Alek continued back and forth, Gianna stood there and watched. She was NOT watching the two other girls who were under her care. Because of this, their father got upset by the situation as well, which he rightfully should have. But instead of directing his frustration towards Gianna and Alek he decided to direct to me which escalated the situation further. I chose to be the only responsible individual and I removed Alek from Gianna and the pool to speak with him and access the management email address. Alek was tone deaf to the entire situation not realizing he had been blaming me and a 5 year old girl standing there waiting to swim. Alek offered to give her lessons in 30 mins to then make up for everything but as we sat they're waiting for that additional time he realized he had another appointment cancelled on us and wasted our time even further. End summary: We showed up on time, sat around for and hour, got blamed for not speaking up or listening, my daughter cried and I almost had an altercation with another parent. We wouldn't consider returning based on the fact that the instructors feel that they addressed it properly. We don't feel confident their attitude would change. There is no clear document given to a new student stating what is needed and how the classes work. No one told anyone, my wife or mother, that an instructor would be shouting from across a noisy pool at a 5 year old little girl. Wouldn't you think it would be beneficial to make sure all children heard their name by WALKING up to the front desk to make sure. This wasn't a class of 30 kids... it was 3 kids total. Not hard to make sure everyone was there. Ridiculous. The sheer attitude and response from the instructors is deplorable and in front of small children of all things. This isn't how you treat customers. Gianna and Alek were responsible for my daughters sadness and my frustration. We will expect a full refund.

Update June 2026: Several years after graduating from Merit…read moreTraining Institute, I recently needed copies of my transcripts and educational records in order to further my education at Rutgers University. I spoke directly with the owner by phone. She advised me that she was at a doctor's appointment, would be returning to the office shortly, and asked me to text my name, dates of attendance, and where the transcripts needed to be sent. I immediately provided all requested information as requested. Since that conversation, despite multiple follow-up text messages, phone calls, and voicemails over the course of several weeks, I have received no response and have been unable to obtain my records. I am attaching screenshots documenting my repeated attempts to communicate. I am also attaching a screenshot of the honest review I left after graduating from the program several years ago. In response to that review, the owner specifically stated that she wished I had used my "real last name." Given that history, I cannot help but notice that communication completely stopped after I identified myself and provided my full name while requesting my records. As someone who completed this program and paid my tuition in its entirety before the very first day of class, I find it very disappointing that years later I have had to make repeated attempts simply to obtain copies of my own educational records. Educational institutions have a responsibility to support both current and former students, particularly when records are needed for continuing education or employment. Former students should reasonably expect timely responses when requesting educational records needed for school or employment. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

This school is like high school and has been one of the worst experiences I've been through. I…read moredon't even know where to start but if your ok with wasting your time, this place is for you! I can't believe there's positive reviews here as if the director pays people to write 5 star reviews. The instructor is very hard to work with as far as asking her questions and doing clinical, she will literally treat you like trash if your unaware of something that she didn't teach you. She would waste the majority of class time talking about her personal life and 4 ex husbands that she had or talking about other students. There has been times where I'd come in early before class start to study for that days quiz or test in the break room, and she would come interrupt me without saying good morning but jump straight into gossiping. She was more interested in talking terrible about students than talking about what your lost on or need improvement on. She cried to me saying that we're the worst class she's ever had and she cant wait for us to leave this course. She does the same to other students as well, she' would try to be on everyone's good side by talking about students to other students. Well my class end up failing with just two people left to graduate from 7 people who started. They wait until the last minute to update grades but will make it seem like your passing or have the potential to bring your grade up then boom... last week of the course; here's comes the academic probation or the concerns all of a sudden. Also, there's favoritism here so be aware! I have been coming on time everyday, doing my homework and clinical, the only downfall was that I wasn't best at the exams, but from my understanding, the instructor said master everything and try your best come on time then you'll pass! Which I've been doing so That's a big lie, the director failed me 3 days before graduation. There's students there with bad attendance that end up staying because of favoritism. They'll pass who they want to pass! The reason they do this is because your so far into the semester that you can't get your refund back! The director is unorganized and money hungry. She's another person that can't take simple feedback about her school from students. She'll literally talk over you and argue with you without hearing you out completely. She sits in-front of you crunching on her chips while your trying to talk to her.. seriously learn some manners. I hope this school gets it together because this is not how you train students for the work field, more like training people how to fail and drama after drama. Even though the ending was terrible here with me failing and happening to waste my money paying them back for little knowledge, I'm excited to be out of this trash whole and moving on.
