I would leave 0 stars if I could but we don't get that option. We canceled our service in August 2024 because they would come out without calling and leave a sign in our yard we to what they did but yet nothing was even wet and nothing was dying, bugs, weeds nothing. A gentleman even called us who said he was the owner and asked why we canceled and we explained why and he said OK well, I'm sorry I apologize but if you change your mind, please give us a call back. Now we get a bill in November for 60.00 for service, we called them told them we no longer had an account with them, it was canceled in August. He said...yes I see where you canceled, the man that helped you is no longer with and for good reason. Now, we get another bill and it's now 120.00, they called looking for their money and we explained that we don't have an account and she said well you did up until November and I said no we did not. We canceled August. So I reported them to the Better Business Bureau because they're not canceling your account when you cancel it, and they're charging you for a service that you canceled months ago. I am in shock at how many problems they seem to have with the service. Having multiple appointments were a technician chose not to show up. Having disgruntled office people talk to me. Having canceled and then somehow you guys continue to try to charge me. Being told that the bill that should not have arrived will be taken care of. I am still receiving bills. When I call the office no one returns my calls. This is the worst service I think I've ever received and continue to receive. I will never recommend your facility to anyone. read more

They do not show up! I have had many appointments that no one comes or calls and then to get a hold of the office to get the problem resolved is nearly impossible. If you want a company that is reliable this is NOT the one for you. read more

THE ABSOLUTELY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use their services, whether their home pest control, termite control (laughable and a total rip-off; contact me if you wish, for details), or their lawn service, which they provide under the company name LawnBear. I will say that the people who actually come out to do the actual servicing - EXCEPT THE "TERMITE CONTROL" - were very pleasant, helpful, and did the best they could with the limited resources and knowledge they were given. I cancelled all three services I had with them. I was assured someone would come out to pick up what turned out to be cheap plastic cones that were empty, the termite "bait" stations, as PestBear wanted them back. Over one month has passed, and now that I have a new puppy that is into everything, I am digging up the ones that are still at least 1/4 above ground. They are now in my garbage can, along with my respect for PestBear and LawnBear. read more

Avoid this company at all cost. Started using them because they bought out the company that was doing my pest control for many years. Things went downhill quickly from there. Signed me to a contract that included everything including lawn maintainence as a bundle. Ended up billing me separately for lawn, and pest control at double the price. Called to compain and said they would fix it. They fixed it alright, double billed me for everything. Got a refund and then they double billed me again. I told them to phone before they come to do any service because i want to be here and I want the pest control inside the house. They show up unannounced whenever they please with no phone call. Forget trying to talk to anyone there to fix things. I fired them telling them they breached the contract, and told them to never contact me again. I told them to come and pick up their rodent traps 3 times and they never came to get them. They had the nerve to have one of their clueless reps call me to ask me to sign up again. If you like to be charged for services not performed, or you like endless aggravation, then this is the company for you. If not, I suggest you stay far away from this company. read more

Wow, what a nightmare. Office doesn't know what is going on, bugs everywhere. Time to find a new service.

Sometime around the middle part of 2017 a representative from Pest Bear knocked on my door and wanted to sign me up for lawn service which I agreed to. My lawn, especially in the rear had a lot of weeds and also moles. I emphersized the mole should have to go. After about three months of spraying weed killer on my lawn the moles were still tearing up my lawn and killing the grass so I told Pest Bear to stop doing the lawn. I was considering having the old grass removed and putting new Floratam sod down when a new representative from Pest Bear knocked on my door and said if I gave him the business he would "make my lawn look like the envy of the neighborhood and even install some grass plugs where needed". Needless to say, I have not seen him sense. Another two months went by and the moles are still tearing my yard up and is looking worse than it did before they started so I had a landscape company remove the old grass, install curbing around the house, install gravel between the house and the curbing and install Floratan sod to the tune of $7,000.00. This all took place around the middle of December 2018. On Jan. 18th 2018 I saw a Pest Bear truck parked out front and a man was spraying my back yard. To make a long story short, he was spraying weed killer on my brand new sod. At this point I called Pest Bear and asked for a supervisor to come to my house and discuss the situation. N. F. came by and set up a schedule (2/23 between 10 and 12) to have new sod installed to replace the damaged sod and assure me things would be taken care of. Well they did not show up so at about 2 o'clock I called N. F. and he said the sod at Home Depot did not look good enough to use and the truck broke down also. Well, I went and looked at the sod and it looked good to me. I now see that they were not going to honor their commitment and have had no contact with them sense then. I have contacted my Attorney to see what recourse I might have. I will say this if I had taken the time and seen the reviews on their web site I would have never employed them in the first place. I have been a customer of PestBear for over 10 years. In the beginning the customer service was excellent however over the past 2 years the customer service from the billing/customer service center has been absolutely terrible. I called the call center in July and August to tell them not to do my sept service because my spouse is getting laid off and I did not want to have them come just to not be able to pay. I was told no problem by both reps that I spoke to. In september they were calling my husband and myself frequently and each time we spoke to them, we told them "we will call you to schedule the next service. DON'T come this month." We also called their call center more than twice to tell them not to do the service for september and that we would call them to schedule it. Each time we spoke to them they said it would not be a problem. On September 19, 2014 (Friday) the tech came to our home while we were at work. I was irritated by this not only because I told them not to come this month, but also because WE SPECIFICALLY HAVE SATURDAYS FOR SERVICE so that we can be home to make sure the whole yard is sprayed. They previously had come and if we weren't home our whole yard would not get done. On 9/22/14 I called the PestBear customer service center and spoke to a young man on a conference call with my husband. We told him that we specifically requested that they NOT service our yard this quarter due to some upcoming personal concerns. He was empathetic and apologized. He placed us on hold, came back and told us that it would not be a problem and we would be credited for the service. he explained that the only way that they would not come to service the home automatically is if you Cancel service. So we canceled it at this time to make sure this would not happen again. I came home from work this Monday 10/20/14 and find a PestBear bill in my mailbox. I called the PestBear customer service center and spoke with a Cassandra. I explained the situation and advised her that I am not paying for a bill for service that i did not want. With PestBear you don't sign a contract and do not have to use their service if you don't want to...so they say. If that was the case, why was I in this discussion with them in the first place. Cassandra's response to me was "good luck with that." "I mean you can try if you want, but Tom doesn't approve credits, so I doubt you will get one. No one gets refunds or credit." I then asked for a manager and she asked "for what"? I explained that if she is telling me that I won't get a credit I need a manager because I was promised something and PestBear did not follow through. She said she was transferring me and the call disconnected. I called right back and got Cassandra again. She apologized and transferred me to a person that was supposed to be a manager. The man came to the line and I explained the situation again. He talked to me like I was special needs or simple minded, he had lots of attitude, and kept stating to me that "we gave you a service and chemicals cost money, that's not free, you're not getting a credit!" Everytime I spoke he cut me off. Then he starts talking about "you have a contract you signed and you should read your contract." I told him my husband nor I ever signed a contract and that even if there was a contract, i have been acustomer between 10-13 years and no one would remember those kind of details. I said to him, wouldn't the right thing to do be for the customer reps (the many we spoke with) to tell us that we needed to cancel in order for them not to come?! If they had done that, I would have canceled in July. He goes, "you had service twice in June, so why do you feel that you can use product and not pay for it"? I had to tell him, you all would not have had to come twice in june if you had done the job properly to begin with!. Then he continued on to tell me that the notes say some mess about me saying we did not want service because we were going on vacation for a while and that they were kind enough to wait until the middle of september. He then tells me Tom Barry (the operations manager) does not give credit to anyone and he won't be starting today....He then says "LET ME MAKE IT REAL SIMPLE FOR YOU SO THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME..." Well at this point I cussed him out as I was so angry, offended, and could not believe the things that he was saying to me! Once I ran out of steam I asked him for the Corporate address....he gave me the billing address....I asked for the name of the owner of the company....He tells me "there isn't one, if you have to write, send it to Tom Barry. That is as high as you go here." I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I wanted others to know that you will be just fine as a customer IF you never call the center. I selected 1 star because there was no lower mark. Unlike most I stuck with them and listened to their lies and promises for over five years. The entire time was an ongoing battle and string of broken promises. My yard is a disaster, certainly not worth the $800 plus per year. The final straw was being billed for service when all the technician did was put a sign in the yard. When I complained they basically called me a liar. I can see why their are 407,702 complaints against this company. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!! read more

I have to say it is sad how poor is this company's way of doing business. They lure you into getting a contract and then when they come over, they do so unannounced, leave a paper by your door and expect you to believe that they have already sprayed your house for bugs. I ended up having to call every single time to ask why didn't they ring the bell and spray inside the home, after all I dont need them spraying the street side of my house, their response is, that the inside they do it "Only as a Courtesy".. Well, I certainly dont consider "Courtesy" me having to pay $75.00 every time they come over, and then having to spend additional time calling back to make an appointment for them to come over a second time to finally get my house sprayed for bugs. So definitively do your research around and do not go with the first company that you find, as I did! Needless to say that after my contract was up, I CANCELLED the service!
