He is also extremely responsive to calls and texts, making it super easy to schedule service or change dates if needed! We have an 80lb dog who loves pooping all over our backyard and Carl ensures that it gets cleaned up on a weekly basis. He arrives at the same time each week, scoops us quickly & efficiently and always sends us a text to let us know we have been scooped. Additionally, his prices are super reasonable for the service. I honestly cannot imagine our life without Carl and Poopy Doo! This service is definitely a game changer!

For at least the first month I can say they were coming out as scheduled, as I checked my dog run regularly. However, in November, my housemate notified me that it looked like the dog run area had not been cleaned recently. I went out to take a look, and it did appear to me that there was more waste than would accumulate from my one Chihuahua in a week. I cleaned up a bit and decided to give it a couple of weeks; with holidays I thought perhaps services might have gotten delayed. However, by mid-December, it still appeared that I was not receiving service. I emailed the company at the email address listed on their site on December 17. I did not receive a response. 2 weeks later I checked and the dog run was still filthy. I tried to call them and no matter the time of day, I just get asked to leave a voice mail (I believe the mailbox was full) or "sent to a representative" and then disconnected from the call. I emailed again on December 26, asking for a refund for 3-4 weeks' worth of service fees, a confirmation of cancellation of service, and a confirmation that no further funds would be withdraw. I did not receive a reply, and charges continued to my card. At this point, I wrote my initial Yelp review and filed a complaint with the BBB. The BBB closed the complaint, stating they never received a response from the company. One of these two finally triggered a response from them, however. Please note that items in quotes below are taken directly from the email communications I received from their public email address, info@poopydoo.com: The header of the email read "Official Notification to Cease Desist & Remove All Social Media Reviews Posts & Complaints per Libel Slander Defamation Harassment & Extortion Agreement Terms" They claimed that the photos that I provided to the BBB were fraudulent and were "from many months ago." The two photos that I sent with my complaint are still on my phone, and were dated in November (when I was first alerted to the problem) and December 2022. They demanded that I remove all negative complaints by 9pm that day (January 12), and (not or, but AND) agreed to an "upfront $350 Admin Processing Fee". A refusal or failure to do so would be considered "agreement to FULL Financial responsibility, including...an upfront $350 Legal Processing Fee plus a $25 Daily Verification Service Fee until it [the reviews] is removed. They stated that any disputes or chargebacks initiated with my bank or the card processing center would result in a "$50 Credit Card Dispute Processing Fee". Lastly, they stated that a failure to do so would be sent to their attorney and that "any unpaid fees plus interest will be added as an additional lien on any and all properties, vehicles, boats, etc. (owned, rented, leased, etc.) as well as will be reported to all three credit bureaus (Equifax, Transunion and Equifax) and released to our Collection Agencies for collection as current and/or new addresses are transferable." I replied to this message. I offered my opinion on the company's statements, and reiterated that they confirm cancellation of my account and that no further funds would be withdrawn from my card. The following day, after "speaking with counsel", they claimed that what I was doing was "extortion and unlawful", but that were advised to make a one time settlement offer. The terms of that offer were: "1. Immediately Remove All Reviews Posts published on any medium and platform 2. Withdraw in its entirety your BBB Complaint and any other complaint(s) thereof 3. All has been resolved satisfactorily and that no further action of any type is needed or will be taken (including by not limited to social media and so on) 4. Send Email verifying all has been done 5. Amicably both go our separate way agreeing not to bad mouth each other in any form" This was sent to me on Friday, January 13, and received around 2:38 PM MST. They requested that I reply to this by 5:00 PM the same day. Given that this could, according to their own statements, result in a potential lawsuit with me as defendant, I responded and let them know that I would review the offer, and that I would not be able to respond before the requested deadline as I also wanted the offer reviewed by legal counsel. That occurred today. Based on advice from my phone consultation with an attorney, I will not be accepting the offer. Nor will I be removing my review, as I believe wholly that what I have laid out here is truthful to the best of my knowledge, and a large portion of it simply restates the company's own communications to me. If those terms are taken as a negative by the reader, know that you are just reading what the company's policies are, in their own words.

There is one thing that I require and expect when I hire a company to do a service: dependability…read moreand consistency. Matt's has NEVER missed a service day every week. I have used them for the last year for pet waste removal after a horrible experience with a rival "claim to be" pooper scooper. I can't remember who that was because they never showed up or gave excuses. Matt's comes to our home weekly to take care of what I, frankly, don't have time to do. Time is money and when I drop coin I expect full-service. Matt and their crew are timely and do a thorough job to clean up the backyard. They are competitively priced, too, and based on the frequency and number of dogs. Not to mention their response time is always spot-on. I know what day and time to unlock and lock my gate every week because they show up. If you are looking to hire the best contact them and check it off your list knowing it will get done.

This would have been a 5 star but Matt sold his business. Great for him, couldn't be happier as his…read moreservice was great. Towards the end with the acquisition, the new company really "pooped the bed" - They moved my scheduled time further and further out to the point where I had to have a heart to heart. The solution was to have the new guy meet the dogs so that they wouldn't bark at him while he stole their poop. Instead of following through with the request of letting me know the time they'd be at my home so I could leave work and meet them for the intro - I received an email basically saying "F off we don't have time for this". They fired me. LOL you gotta be kidding me! You pick up dog poop, and are around dogs, and don't want to be accommodating to make sure my 20 pound midget dog doesn't bark at you - or maybe its my 40 pound geriatric deaf cattle dog? Sorry big guy you should take your name off this business. I was a customer for over 5 years since the beginning and after the sale it went super south. If you start a new business, let me know, doesn't matter what it is, I loved your service. But for the love of god, take your name off the face of this one. Maybe call it "gone to shit"?

The local franchise owner is very polite but apparently overwhelmed or overworked within her normal job. We have had scoop service for three small dogs. Two weeks ago one of our dogs passed away. I notified the owner of this and told her would pay full price (obviously) for the next day's scoop but after that please only charge for two dogs. No problem right? Until the following week and I get the three dog invoice. I contacted and requested a new bill. After several emails, and seven days, I still don't have a corrected bill and am getting late notices. Today I paid the full amount and canceled service. Too many issues stacked up. Billing, scooping too much rock out of my yard, late or three hours early, not spraying deodorizer. I will say they never left the gate unlocked and always left treats for the dogs.

I have been on a biweekly plan with this team for multiple months. I have never had any serious…read moreissue until this past week other than them leaving my gate unlocked when they leave. Which is no big deal, I can lock it if they forget. Their plan is set up so you receive an automated text message when they are going to be in your area to clean up your backyard. It is usually a 2 to 3 hour window of time, which, as we all know in most service industries, is a tad bit frustrating, but they are usually great about letting you know when they are 10 minutes out. With that said, when I know they are coming that day, I try to stay within a five minute range of my home so I can be home to unlock the gate for them. I live in old town Buckeye, and do not leave my back gate unlocked because people like to steal dogs. Yesterday I was told their son was coming between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. I left my house to go to the bank down the road and planned on grocery shopping at the market down the street. It's like a five minute drive. If I were to receive a text saying they were 10 minutes out, I could make it home within five minutes to unlock the gate for them. While I was back home, I received a text saying the gate was locked. I looked out my front door and nobody was there. I decided to call and I was informed by the owner that her son had attempted to come by and clean up the poop, but the gate was locked. Sarah, the owner, told me that her son did not have service in my area at that time but she would try to get him to come back at the end of their rounds. I told her that was fine. I never heard anything back. I texted again a few hours later to get an update and she asked if they would be able to come first thing in the morning. I usually work 12 hour shifts on the weekends starting at 7 AM, and she asked if he could come by at 8 AM. I told her that was fine and that I would adjust my schedule accordingly to allow him to come in and clean. By 8:40 AM the next day, nobody had shown up. I texted the owner to inform her, to which she replied that her son's alarm did not go off and she asked me how much longer I planned on being at the house. I informed her that I needed to leave and would not be home until about 7 PM. She asked what time I leave the house Sunday morning, to which I replied before 7 AM. She asked me to try again Sunday morning, to which I replied that I would rather not adjust my working hours and come to work late again in case he did not show up again. She offered for him to come Saturday evening, which is frustrating because though I work long hours, the time I am not spending at work, I like to spend with my family. We go out for dinner on weekends. I informed her that I was not impressed with the lack of communication the last few days and wanted to be removed from her route. I asked her to remove my banking information and we could just go separate ways. This is where she became rude and accusatory. She said that it was my fault because her son showed up and I was not available and the gate was locked. I can understand that, but I never received any text message indicating they were nearby or that I was next on the route. Which is some thing they always do. I'm assuming this is due to the fact that the child was not getting service, however, she was blaming me for her son's lack of service. Screenshots are attached. This company has their children working for them, and as a result, there is a lack of accountability on their end. I guess it is to be expected when you have teenagers working for you over the summer months. I shouldn't have to adjust my entire work schedule around a child that decided to sleep in on Saturday morning. Period and I should not be blamed for their lack of adequate service providers when they are running a business that requires adequate cell phone service to successfully function. My suggestion is to look elsewhere. Maybe have your neighborhood kid pick up the dog poop, it's cheaper, and probably just as reliable at this rate. Side note: I did also have an issue with her son the prior cleaning, I went outside while he was cleaning a few weeks ago, and asked if they could move me to weekly rather than biweekly. He told me he would inform his mother. They never showed up the following week. Sarah states that it is because he told her and she forgot, but I am pretty confident that he just simply forgot to tell her and she is taking the fall. Again, gotta love teenagers.
