We've gotten freebies like a frisbee that's the perfect size for my toy dog and new food to test out when I mentioned to staff we were nearly done my dog's puppy kibble and looking for alternatives. I was really impressed when I recently did an online order + in-store pick-up and received SO many generous goodies -- new kibble to try out!! The owner was there and he was very knowledgeable and educated me on what to look for when choosing food for my puppy. Found this pet store nearby my work place and I decided I have to go check it out. Once I walked in, there was this beautiful cat laying relaxingly at the front entrance. My purpose was buying some good cookies for my dog. The owner came over from the back of the store and walked me around all the cookies his store are carrying from popular brand to new arrivals and organic products. The owner brought over some pet food/snacks from Vancouver and Great Britain too. The price was reasonable. I bought a bag (396g) of organic all-natural cookies (Pumpkin with apple and cranberry) at $10.50. I also picked up a small box of buddy-shape biscuits (new product from the US). Some birthday treats for my dog and I am sure she will be crazily happy today:D This pet store provides pet grooming and day care service too, and so you hear dogs bark and small dogs run around the store. Each time I visited the store in person, the customer rep was very helpful in helping me find the right food and litter for my troublesome cat. My dog looked so horrible coming out. I showed a picture to the groomer of how I wanted it cut and it looked nothing like it. She completely shaved his ears off so he looks like he has no ears! She claimed it's because he is matted but I took the time to brush out the mats on his ears before his visit because I didn't want that to happen so thats not possible. His hair is also uneven all over, there are long pieces left on his legs and paws and his chest hair is much longer than everywhere else. She did the job in only one hour. How does it take so short if he has mats?! Even a dog with no mats the appt should take longer because you need to properly comb a dog out before cutting and washing. He's had worse mats with other groomers that were able to make him look amazing regardless. Suffice it to say I will not be returning. Management just replied to my review- not willing to offer recompense or even a fix. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DOGGIE DAYCARE HERE! I have never met more dedicated, reliable, caring, friendly, and easy going staff than the ones here. Our very shy dog who normally avoids all strangers wanted to go back after day 1 when he was only ~3 months old. He is now over 2 years old and pretty much pulls us down the block to go to daycare everyday and greets the daycare staff like family. As a bonus, the daycare is NOT overcrowded, has a playground, and is the best value in Toronto (plus it starts at ~8am an hour before the store opens). I also appreciate the premium food selections available there that is NOT available at most other larger or chain stores. It's super convenient to pick up quality food when I pick up our dog from daycare. We also use the groomer there, who does an excellent job every time :) To sum it up: Best doggie daycare, excellent premium food selection & the most amazing staff ever. read more

I tried to bring my dog to their daycare and I had to take him out after 10 minutes, the room was dark and depressing, no one was keeping the dogs company, there were several dogs with behavioural problems, I've never abused my dog and that was the only time when I felt i had when i left him for 10 minutes in the small detention room they had in the back. Why do I love Pet Cuisine? Because they love my dog!!! Simple. I use the daycare services and my dog absolutely loves the staff. They play with her and really cares for her. She is happy and well-adjusted dog with no behavioural problems. They also have a wonderful manager named Philip who really takes care of the store and upholds the integrity of the merchandise and service. The owner lives in the neighbourhood and is very invested in caring for dog and the dog owners in the area. I love their treat selection and even now the Canada pooch collection is addictive, as they carry so many sizes and designs!!! The petcare services are fairly priced compared to others and I recommend them to any condo dweller who needs a home for their pup during the day! read more

I have been to better shops, I admit. This place is good in that it has most of the supplies a pet owner would look for. I was not too thrilled that the accessories for cats are tucked away in a little side alcove which is not readily visible unless you go on an expedition. A bit of signage hanging from the ceiling would help. I did not like the organisation of the shop either. Cat food & kitty litter, next to leashes/harnesses for dogs. The whole front of the shop was devoted to dogs, with all their "stuff" scattered about everywhere in no particular order. The shop needs better organisation. Pricing is okay for some items, but I found that in general you're better off going to Pet Smart if you don't want to pay a large amount for items like kitty litter. read more

Okay, so the place totally looks sketch--the prices are marked with stickers on the cans, like a downscale convenience store, and all the display cat trees are shrouded in plastic and it's always empty when I go in. BUT. This place also sells the fancy cat food I have to buy (yeah, yeah, my cat's a princess) for less than any place else in the city. Trust me, I've done an exhaustive search (okay, four stores), and I save up to 40 cents a can here, which is totally worth it because grain-free additive-free cat food does not come cheaply. When I saw the prices, I bought a dozen cans just in case they were mispriced and they were going to wise up as soon as I left, but it's been that price every time I've gone in. And if that's not enough incentive to shop there, they've got two store cats(!) who are very tolerant of customers intruding on their nap time (they tend to make free with the cat trees that are available for sale, hence the plastic wrap). Definitely worth checking out--maybe you'll find your fuzzy friend's dinner on discount here too. read more

Sadly, after loosing my previous groomer, I had to find a new groomer. I've been told that Jessica would be great. So yesterday was Kuma's first appointment. Without giving her much details on his cut, she gaged her work on the previous cut. Kuma is a bernedoodle, and it could have been very challenging but she got it right. I'm giving one star because i cant leave none Would never ship here or support them in any way. Went to buy a pair of nail clippers, so of course I took them out of the package to inspect them. Discovered the blades were rusted! And their "daycare" is a horrific place for an animal. A grey room with no stimulation, and nobody was in there with the dogs. One dog in particular was just staring at the glass between the daycare & store, barking forlornly. That's no way to ensure happy, social & tired dogs. As an aside, they're way overpriced. I have a small rescue from a puppy mill so he has issues they did not take any of my warnings seriously, as i picked him up he was in the back room in a crate (when I told them he has a fear of crates) all alone, i was angry groomer was gone and i had to rush it was worst cut i have even seen she just shaved him why she did this i have no clue considering they need some fur in the summer to keep them cool it looks like i did it, so obviously i called to complain they said next time free i asked for different groomer, and when i picked him up again he was in the back by himself in the cage even though i made it very clear. oh and they have dog day care that they just sit in the dark all day i asked why can't they put my dog there after being groomed instead of in a cage. they made up saome lame excuse read more

The worst experience ever! The price on the product is one and when you pay is almost double. When I checked my electronic receipt I saw they charged almost double and I asked for a refund. They said they don't do refund (Company policy) and they are rising the prices. The same collars in the store are on the price tag $10.99 and they charged $20.33 taxes. They only offered me a credit store. The representative called me "ignorant" because I did not agree with the way they were acting against a consumer request, stating they are changing prices, and they cannot refund my credit card transaction because they do not do "cash refund" when I just ask to refund my credit card. Very bad customer service. I do not recommend this store at all. I am 35 weeks pregnant after more than half an hour argument they gave me my money back, such a bad time!! read more

We drop off our dog for daycare all the time. Their rates are unbeatable, our dog loves all her friends at daycare. 2 of our neighbours started to bring their puppies as well as we said how great of a pet store and daycare it is. The manager Philip is beyond helpful and is so caring and genuine. He gives our dog so much attention and she loves him so much. We also get our dog groomed dog here and buy her food, treats, toys, grooming tools and anything else pet related. They give great advice. read more

I'm very picky when it comes to grooming. Most groomers will say they give 'Puppy cuts', but they just end up buzzing my dog and leaving behind a beard, puffy ears that look like pigtails and a feathered tail. Even for a dog, it must be degrading to look that stupid. I've been sending my dog to Pet Cuisine for grooming by Nancy for the last 2 years and I am pleased with the job they do. For longtime customers who haven't bothered shopping around for better dog food pricing this place might seem like it is reasonably priced - it is NOT by any means reasonably priced. The selection is moderately good but not competitive with other specialty pet supply stores in downtown Toronto. Having moved to the St. Lawrence area from King West, we had hoped to make this store our new stop for dog food. Although we have found some pricing in St. Lawrence is significantly better than the King West area, Pet Cuisine and Accessories has managed to price their dog food up to $5.00 higher than other stores, their variety is limited and the customer service was not outstanding. This surprises me considering the annual "Woofstock" event happens in this area so this store should actually be the best in Toronto. As a result we continue to make a trip every two months to Cosmopawlitan on Queen's Quay or Umbrella Pets on Niagara and Portland to stock up on our favorite brands. read more

The first time I stopped in was close to when they closed, but a really lovely sales person helped me still to find exactly what I was looking for. When I went recently, with exactly what I wanted in mind, there was no one to be found. I got what I needed and rang the service bell and simply to be cashed out. The gentleman who appeared was one of the rudest individuals I've ever dealt with. His opening line was "This better be worth it" and when I said "I'm sorry, but you are still open", he responded "barely". There were still 25 minutes until they closed and I clearly was just buying one product. I walked out without buying what I'd come in for and went down the street to PetValu. He never apologized, he immediately dismissed me, and tried to explain "it had been a long day". There is absolutely no way anyone like this should be working in customer service, especially somewhere that will require more hands on help than your regular store. I'm so disappointed, as I had high hopes after such a pleasant first exchange. But I will not return during a time this man is allowed to deal with customers. read more

I have been a long time client of Pet Cuisine & Accessories. My dog has been groomed by Bonnie for 5 years. Unfortunately this past fall she decided she would be leaving Pet Cuisine to open her new store in the beaches. I felt like it was such a long way to travel to get my dog groomed so I decided to try out the new groomers at Pet Cuisine. Boy was that a huge mistake. Not only did they charge me more than I was used to paying and more than what I feel is reasonable, it didn't seem like they did anything to my dog other than wash it. What a rip off! I will not be returning to this store. I have managed to find my old groomer Bonnie and will stay with her. read more
