I like to shop here when I can instead of going to the big box stores like Pet Smart etc. It has a more cozy vibe and the staff are so helpful and kind. I first came here to buy gifts for my friends' pets and now come here to buy treats for my own pup. The store looks small but they have a great selection of dog toys, including some adorable plush ones like avocado toast or chicken and waffles!! (Perfect for Yelper's pet;)). The prices may seem a bit higher for some things, but the quality is great. My dog has chewed through some cheaper toys already, but the ones I got here are still holding up. During lockdowns, they have the curbside shopping down. You stand at the table and say what you want and they will bring you a whole bunch of options you can look at. Also many of the staff seem to have been working there for years. You don't always see that a lot in retail and I think/hope this means that they treat their employees well. If you're lucky you might glimpse their resident pets in the aisles too! read more

Wandering the Danforth this afternoon we happened into this cute pet supplies shop. Lots of premium quality pet feed and an excellent selection of collars, leashes and toys. We left with some colourful squeaky toys, a harness and a jeweled collar. We will go back to buy one of their gorgeous handmade pet beds when our puppy is bigger. Cozy beds and beautiful patterns. The helpful person at the store told me they are made locally by a futon maker. I loved the tartan ones, but that Parisian themed ones is likely to come home with us. :) read more

A great selection of natural and holistic foods and products for your animal friends. The staff are knowledgeable and can help you find what you are looking for. It's close to Broadview station. I like that they carry the natural Earth Bath line from San Francisco, because I don't like the idea of dunking my cats in chemical laden bath products. Plus, they smell great afterwards. Yes, I bathe my cats. This isn't one of those mall pet shops where they sell puppies from puppy mills, small rodents, tropical birds and other live animals that are bought impulse. This store gets it. Most people who love their pets do not want to feed them garbage food that will cause premature death. They sell premium goods and the price point reflects this. read more

As soon as my dog and I turn the corner onto the Danforth, he knows we're heading for Small wonders, and drags me the rest of the way. The first thing they do is give him a treat, he has a drink of water, then I let him wander around among all of the bones and treats for sale. He chooses a bone then waits by the front door while I wander around checking out all of the dog related paraphenlia they have. The selection of healthy frozen food is amazing, as well as the dried stuff. I only feed my dog Halo, and they always have a large selection available. It really is a terrific store. read more

Not only does this shop have a great range of pet supplies, they also have a nice, knowledgeable staff and a committed community spirit. During the pandemic, they set up a fund for pet owners who might be struggling to feed their pets. Small Wonders has done such a good job of looking after its staff and customers, being friendly but firm regarding hygiene rules. Highly recommended! read more

When I walk in here, I feel whimsical. Maybe it's the decor on the outside, I'm not sure. My first few visits here, I got my kitten essentials like wellness foods, holistic treats and scratch box. The guy at the counter (I think one of the owners) started giving me really good advice as a new cat owner: - watch the kitty when he wakes up and he walks a neurotic path the same one over and over. put the scratch box in his path - if you want kitty to drink more water, put water bowls not in his usual spot I remembered all this advice, and I think it really helped. I really appreciate that! It's true, their stuff is marked up a little, but I know they carry things that may not be available at the Global another block away (and is quite far on a windy day) read more

After adopting an awesome dog I wanted to make sure I got her some awesome toys and snacks. I came to small wonders on a recommendation of a friend and they were great. I spoke with one of the staff and they recommended I get a smoked cow hoof, not he most appetizing thing for a person but my dog LOVES it, its now her favourite chew toy. Thankfully I live I a city like Toronto and don't experience people like these often. I live in the neighbourhood and have a dog so I have been in this shop a couple of times. Every time I have left saying I will never go back, but a year later I visit because I forget the way they made me feel. Certainly everyone in the city is not going to get the same experience, but they clearly only appreciate business from a specific group of people. They are so rude and dismissive of me, I really shouldn't let them get to me, but it's hard not to leave there feeling upset and angry. There are many other pet stores in the area, if you choose to not support people like them, there's many other options to go. It's 2018, wake up people. read more

Conveniently located right by Broadview Station, this place carries an amazing array of natural, holistic and healthy foods for pets. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, animal health-oriented and friendly. Great prices - the one food I used to buy was 10$ cheaper here than at Global, and they have a reward program - buy like 12 bags of food (I forget the exact number) and get the next free. They'll also order something in for you if they don't have it in stock. They know about animal nutrition and about where their products come from. When the food i used to buy got bought over by Procter and Gamble, they stopped carrying it, as P&G tests on animals and is known for putting crap in their pet food, and recommended foods that were from small Canadian companies. read more

Went in today looking for help with pet food for my mother's dog... long story short - he was supposed to stay for 2 days and ended up with us for 10, so we needed more food for him, only I didn't know what brand... just that it was good quality. The folks in the shop were wonderfully helpful with advice and free samples. The pup liked what they gave me so much he ate around his normal food. I will definitely be back. read more

In contrast to the corporate wasteland which is Global Pet Foods across the street, Small Wonders is a funky, personable store with staff that is beyond helpful. When my cat wouldn't drink water, the solution was to move the water dish to another room. Problem solved. When my cat was experiencing severe food allergies, rather than trying to sell me product from their store, they suggested I go to Blue Cross and get hypoallergenic cat food. Contrast this with Global who kept suggesting different brands of cat food and then gave me extreme grief when I brought it back because my cat's allergies just kept getting worse. Small Wonders is a smaller store but the staff is just amazing and I am sorry that I ever wandered across the street! read more

This is my local neighbourhood pet supply store. It stands out from the surrounding shops on the Danforth with it's unique signage and window displays. So glad to have such a gem in our community. They carry high quality products that are both healthier for your pets and support companies that are either local, ethical, organic and fair or a combination of these traits. Got a Rottweiler (named her Roxy) and found this pet shop on my adventures. This Shop is a family run operation where the staff are TOP NOTCH. They take their time to educate you and are willing to go the extra mile to help. They offer a wide range of foods and treats not to mention the awesome variety of pet supplies ie Leashes, toys etc. I would recommend this Pet Shop to anyone. The lady named (i know I this is not the correct spelling) Keelie helped me teach my Roxy "drop it" which btw has saved her life as she tried to eat a tensor bandage. The first time I visited this store I was a bit overwhelmed. There is just so much to see and the store was really busy... it just made me a bit stressed! But, I returned and decided to take my time perusing the aisles. WOW! They have so many amazing products--natural organic mango shampoo that my dog LOVES--delicious all natural doggie treats--and Halo dog food. My dog loves to visit and the staff are very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this pet store. read more

Great place to get my puppy essentials. I came with my puppy and they were interactive and very involved with their wares. Very knowledgeable as well. I spent more money than I had hoped for but I got an ammonia free rug cleaner and a really cool water bottle/dish for my puppy. They even gave me a sample of dog food. I love this store, so much more than the pet food chains -- they have EVERYTHING, it's fun just to go there because of the way it looks and the pets on site, and they've been so helpful with my task of getting a giant bag of Swheat Scoop (a wonderful clumping and flushable litter made out of wheat) into my car and once even to my door when I wasn't well and (oh crisis!) had run out. Also, the best line of cat foods, AND the most intoxicating brushes -- my cat Molly adores them, loves the variety, and goes into a swoon of pleasure that lasts for hours.
