Everything in store is labelled as designer' wear from the clothing to dog bowls, accessories, toys, bedding plus more and even the food would you believe. Pampering zone involves not only bathing but painting their nails, colouring the hair (for fun apparently), and get this 'mud baths' ! What the!! I suppose if I had a small dog and sometimes I wish I could shrink my GS to fit into my handbag, I may consider doing the same. But hey, if you're someone who doesn't have kids or grandkids or care for dogs more than little people then this may be just for you and your furry family. If you have a dog who doesn't like to be left home, this day care facility for dogs is really very good. It gives your canine friend a pack to run and play with as well as a present and accountable human being who acts as the top dog for the whole time your pooch is placed here. This top dog human means no fights break out because there is always a masterful guiding voice keeping tabs on who is doing what to whom. It really is a great service if you don't want to leave the dog home every day but have a busy life and can not find the time to keep your precious pooch as pampered and busy as yourself. Let's say you own a big dog that needs a lot of exercise, but you also have a demanding job that sees you at work almost twenty four seven some times. What happens to the dog? Well it may get bored and start to behave badly as a result - but if you drop it off at Dogcity Daycare it will be busy socialising with other dogs. You can purchase a range of items for your dog when you drop them off or pick them up from their day of socialising and stimulating interplay - things like chews and pigs ears... and the friendly staff will let you know if your best friend has behaved well - which of course under the circumstances he or she probably has. Dropping Harold off to the care of strangers is a little nerve-racking as Bulldogs have special needs, however the friendly team at Dogcity let me know that he was in safe hands and that I would receive updates during the day, reassured, I left feeling confidant Harold was going to have a great day! The energy and excitement in the centre was amazing, you could really tell that these people love what they do. Before I left for work, I had a look through the viewing window and Harold was already running a muck with his new friends. The thing that took this experience from good to brilliant, was the level of personalised communication I received. During the day, "Harold" sent me a text message with some photos of his new friends (who knew dogs had such skills!): Hi Mum, My new friends have let me borrow the work phone so that I could send you a message; I told them that I'm fine and would rather keep playing, but they've said that it's always important to let Mum's know. Apparently you guys worry about us or something. I'm having the best time. Heston is here and we've both been body slamming. They have a bunch of tennis balls here too, so I've been slobbering over all of those and carrying them around. There are two Huskies, Ace and TJ, who like playing with tennis balls also, so we've been having a great time together. I hope you're having a good day, but I doubt it's as fun as mine - ha! Then as you entered the pet store sometimes your were disappointed to find that the only pets in the store were fish, and possibly birds. This store is like that. There are no puppies, no kittens, not guinea pigs but there are fish. However positively, if you like fish, this is your store. Gold fish galore. Also considering that I have been told to never buy a decent sized pet from a pet shop, eg.dog, I guess this further supports the fact that in truth, this store is quite nice :)

I've always felt that our pets health and welfare has always been put first, from the caring, friendly and attentive nursing/reception staff to the very knowledgeable and informative veterinary staff, Pet universe has quickly become the only place that we will take our pets. Recently Poppy developed a rare cancer and has now passed away, we were inconsolable but comforted by how caring the team at Pet Universe were especially Dr Chris who took the time to call recently and see how we were doing and even sent flowers. I felt the need to update my review regarding this shelter after my recent experiences over the…read morelast 4 weeks of owning my new kitten. The follow up service with our kitten has been non-existent. We were told on the day of adoption that we would receive a call 1 week later to arrange a time for the first round of vaccinations and desexing. We didn't. After we queried our cat's slightly weepy eye on the day of adoption the "local vet" at the shelter at the time said it was only conjunctivitis. Not so, it was Cat Flu. I can understand it is hard to reduce cases of cat flu in a shelter. I can also understand they must be run off their feet here. But since following up to book our kitten in for desexing the woman on the phone was abrupt and generally inconsiderate. It is highly inconvenient to try and book in to the vet (only on weekdays and out at Elizabeth) and to be honest I do not trust the "local vet" who did not warn us that conjunctivitis is an obvious symptom of cat flu on the day of adoption. Our kitten is fine and now healthy (thanks to a local vet), I just wouldn't get our next from this shelter that is clearly a bit too overwhelmed, burdened and unprofessional in their management of their little ones and who I have since heard have adopted out at least 2 other cats with cat flu to friends of mine.

With a few volunteers around various areas and in the shelter itself, I am completely in awe with what they achieve, looking after kitties, making sure they are desexed, and promoting responsible pet ownership. We have 3 rescue cats (yes, we're officially 'crazy cat ladies'!), and our third one, Rosie, came from here. She had been at HSTFO for 12 months, but she adjusted to her new home (and new sisters) pretty quickly! Of course, what you pay for the cats go directly to the shelter, and is minimal anyway (just covering costs of vet bills and food that you take with you) - Rosie, as an adult cat, was only $130 - much more responsible than buying a pure breed! So if you're thinking of inviting a cat into your home, PLEASE consider visiting Nicky! She has over 100 cats, so there is sure to be one to suit your home and family. With so many cats wanting furrever homes, it would be ridiculous not to!

Pick me, pick me!…read more That's what all the dogs and cats say to me when I go here, it's pretty sad but cute and happy at the same time. My family and I came and looked here for a puppy a couple of years ago, and I just wanted to take them all with me! We actually ended up getting a puppy from a friend elsewhere, but only because we needed a certain type of dog for our house and yard etc and Animal Welfare didn't have a suitable one at the time. But the animals all look as happy as they can be in this situation, fed, water, played with. But they just sit there waiting for homes. The work they do is great for cats and dogs who need to find homes, I just wish so many wouldn't end up here in the 1st place.

Out of all the aquarium shops in Adelaide that I've visited (and I think I've been to them all by…read morenow) this would be my first stop if I could only go to one. Without a shadow of a doubt they have the biggest range of fish, and by far the deepest range of exotic species. There are shops that have cheaper fish, bigger fish, rarer fish, harder to find plants, or a bigger range of cichlids, or marine exotics - but for all round range, Seaview has it hands down. It's also a huge store - lots of tanks to choose from, accessories, pumps, decorations, rocks & logs - you name it, it's here. Again, there ARE bigger stores - but the range here has everything I could think of needing all contained in one store. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It can get busy, and I've stood in a frustratingly slow queue on a Saturday - but that's understandable given they need to communicate with a lot of customers over the suitability of fish for their needs, that they understand the care needed for certain species, etc. Parking is best off the Anzac Highway - I've seen far too many wing mirrors whipped off cars parked here while people shop for fish.

A BIG SHOP FULL OF FISH (and other aquatic creatures)…read more I've been coming to Seaview Aquarium for a long time. I actually bought my turtle "Fred" here when he was the size of 50c piece. Now he's the size of a large dinner plate. Along with 2 tanks, and a whole school of fish... this place loves taking my money :) I've tried many other fish / aquarium shops in Adelaide but this really is your one stop shop for all fish, turtle, frog and marine plant supplies, they also have a large range of tanks and ponds. It is easily the best aquarium shop in Adelaide. It does however get a little busy on weekends, so prepare for a wait while you get served, but there is a lot of cool marine displays to look at while you wait. Check out the shark tank very cool, or my Bumblebee Cichlid who now lives in the large Cichlid tank out back, he got way to big for my 6 ft tank and started picking on all the others. :( Prices are reasonable, and the staff are usually friendly... If you love spending endless amounts of cash on your marine critters, then this is the place to go. :)

Like kids who love their play group, our dogs have no time to kiss us goodbye before they go out to…read moreplay with the other puppies. We own two Lakeland Terriers who, to keep their coats looking like they should, need to be hand stripped. This is a time consuming and tedious process often not carried out by dog groomers. When we moved back to Adelaide on the hunt for a dog groomer, these guys were more than open to hand stripping and the groomer even called us to find out more info before we booked them in. When we arrived, they knew exactly who we were and introduced themselves to our dogs. They required vaccination certificates and took time to learn about their habits before introducing them to other dogs. I should let you know, hand stripping is done in stages because it takes so long and the dogs becomes restless. Therefore, in between grooming sessions, our dogs used the daycare facility. When we picked Jasper and Quin up, they were happy, perky and didn't seem at all distressed. The groomer came out to let us know how they went and we discussed a long term grooming plan. We've been back a couple of times since and simply can't fault them. Anywhere our dogs pull on their lead to get into must be fun for them. I am 100% comfortable leaving our dogs in their care.

It's covers everything from vaccinations to what you allow your dog to do and not to do (e.g tell off for barking or playing rough). The staff here are friendly and it's obvious they love their job. So enthusiastic and make a big fuss about your pooch when you walk in. Plenty of staff around all areas watching dogs at all times. You can even pop in during the day to check on your pup to see how he/she is going. It's a little pricey, but you are giving your dog a treat, it's great for socialising the and getting rid of energy. My dog is tired the whole next day just from playing with the other dogs. P.S the daycare also make cute montage videos of the dogs playing and upload it to the website and also take photos of the dogs around Xmas time and make little cards.
