UPDATED- First experience was good but high priced. Second experience was the absolute worst. The groomer had a negative attitude from the moment we arrived. One dog ended up not getting groomed but they still charged us full price for her when she was only bathed and brushed. I wish they would have called to say we aren't going to be able to groom your dog before charging full price for a portion of the services. Poor customer service. Terrible groomer AND pricey! Took my dog in for a trim and wash. I was surprised to find him almost bald. I noticed that other dogs had the same look. Apparently that's their specialty. When it came time to pay I was flabbergasted that they would charge double compared to other groomers in 2 mile radius. Never going back. Beware. ***UPDATE*** I was offered partial refund and free groom in the future. Nowadays you don't see businesses take ownership and offer a resolution for below par service. I brought him to this groomer "Spam" and she was awesome with in a hour she was done with my yorkie, his last groomer he went to had him for about 7 hours because my dog would not allow to be touched but Spam was the best I highly recommend to go to this place!!!! read more

I used to bring my dog here at least once a month due to shedding. The last time I brought him here it took them more than 5 hours just to bath and brush him. My dog has really bad anxiety and by the time they had called me I could hear him crying. I hadn't gone back until today and after calling to make sure I would not run into this problem again the owner assured me it wouldn't be long. However, when I walked into the west side location she told me he would not be ready until 5 or 6. That's ridiculous. read more

I used to bring my dogs here all the time. The owner was so great with them. My dogs were actually happy to see him! The last time I took them in the owner was not there someone else did the grooming I fount matted fur on my shih-tzu and an uneven shave on my lab. BOTH WERE STILL WET IN PLACES. And my shih-tzu was freaked out. Their prices went up an it's not worth it. There are other places with lower prices who will complete the job. read more

Brought my dog here a few times in the mornings and he looked great! Last time, I took him in the afternoon and they called me back after 20 minutes saying he was done. I was shocked as the times before it had taken at least an hour! When I went to pick him up, his cut was very uneven and not what I'd asked for. It seemed really rushed! I took my dogs to their new location on Sean Haggerty Dr. and it was great experience. My dogs looked great and best of all, they did not seem agitated or have redness in their eyes that showed any signs of stress. Very sad to say I received HORRIBLE customer service at Pet Heroes. The place smelled really bad and the owner's attitude towards me and my doggies was so disrespectful and rude. I left, I was absolutely not going to leave my babies with him. I felt sorry for the doggies that were already there because he seemed so upset and not happy doing his job. Took my kids (dogs) all over town trying to see who did good work. I was satisfied with Pauls pet grooming but they constantly left my dogs cut up and when I would drop them off they would shake like a chihuahua and they're mini schnauzers. Started to bring them here for almost a year now and my babies love it and don't shake. The kennels are a great size and the work they do is stupendous. I fall in love with the work they do every time. They offer a shuttle van to pick up and drop off the pets to their home for a really cheap price, talk about convenient and friendly! I won't be searching for another groomer because this place has everything, the friendly staff and great work. And best of all my kids love them too! read more

Let me start from the point we walked in the door at the groomers. Our big boy started barking so I asked the guy to name him by his name. Well he did not and was clearly afraid of our dog. He told us he was working alone that day and to give him a few minutes to make a phone call. So phone was on speaker and the guy on other end asked what breed so he told him and then said " don't tell customer you don't know how to groom that breed " and HE was on the way to help. First red flag. Left specific instructions on how to groom him. When I picked him up I was speechless. They cut all his hair off and I mean all his hair. Now we have to wait up to 9 month for his face and bears to grow back. They groomed how they wanted to and then tried to point out faults on our boy. He has no faults. So when my husband took him back there the same day they had the nerve to offer him a 85.00 package for unlimited bathing a month. Oh hell no. They have no clue what they are doing and every dog on their site looks the same to me. Then they posted our boys picture and had people guess what breed he is and that he is very closely related to a giant schnauzer and is unique to El Paso. Yeah he is very unique to El Paso but not even closely related to a Schnauzer. read more

They say they do cat haircuts. I scheduled and appointment one week before. It took me 45 minutes to get there due bad weather. When I got there I was told by the lady that the person who does cat haircuts was ON VACATION??!! I called the phone number on the east side, the man that answered didn't even know the person that does cat hair was on vacation. They said they would call me back and let me know what was going on, well I NEVER got a call back!! They don't seem to care about customers, they probably don't care about our pet babies! I brought Molly in to be groomed. When I picked her up, she was limping. Star acted like she didn't know what was wrong. I inspected her foot when I got home only to find that Star cut two of her nails and the side of her pad on the right rear foot. She lied to me and denied knowing about it, and they told me that her nails on the back paws didn't need to be trimmed (nails nor hair were trimmed) yet she trimmed nails AND hair on the front paws.... HMMMM. Then, I called the owner and complained. He said that Star told him that she injured herself trying to get out of the kennel... so she lied to him, as well. Dogs don't try to paw with their back feet!!! I took her to the vet for $149 bill. They never refunded the groomer's expense after texting and texting, Raymond, owner, only IGNORED ME even after showing him a copy of my vet bill that clearly stated PAW INJURY. See the photos below. Had to dispute the charge... All this after going there for two (2) years!!!! I sat in the vet's office for nearly 2 hours, and one other lady said she brought her dogs to Pet Heroes but saw how they were being "man handled" (handled roughly) and took her dogs back and would not let them groom them.... smart girl! It has now been three (3) weeks and Molly is limping on the other side. She limped on the right/injured paw side for 1 week, and now has been limping on the other side for over 2 weeks... so now I have to pay more money to take her to a chiropractor.... or another vet.... to figure out what is STILL HURT so that she stops crying and is out of pain. Thanks guys. Jerks!!!!! I thought they hated me, or people, but now I learn they hate dogs, too. Were always rude to me, or short, like I didn't matter. BE WARNED!!!!! read more

After several years of bringing my three Shih Tzus to Pet Heroes without complaint, I was surprised when they raised their price from $28 to $33 without prior notification. For over a year now, they have had a notice in their window that they could not accept credit cards while they "search for a new provider". In other words=no credit cards. To top it off my dog looked shabby when I picked her up: many patches of uncut hair. Sorry to see this business slip. I'll be taking my three dogs elsewhere. read more
