the last thing a pet owner wants ahead of a long weekend is a trip to the emergency vet; actually,…read moremost pet owners i know aren't excited about emergency vet visits at any time of year but when they happen and you want to make sure your fur baby is ok, you go, regardless of the costs involved. late last week i made the decision to take my dog in with an issue i've seen him have before but this time all my efforts didn't curb the symptoms and i decided i'd get a jump on what promised to be a full emergency waiting room ahead of fireworks and loud noises. the closest VEG location to me is in interbay but when i called they suggested i go to lynwood, federal way or redmond because they were already slammed. so up to lynnwood we went and when we walked in, i got an introduction into how differently VEG locations handle things. each pet/human is greeted and triaged. the open concept of seeing everyone working and every other patient out in the open may be different from what you're used to but it demystifies things for sure. you're not left wondering what's happening to your pet behind closed doors. and in an emergency when your cortisol levels may already be elevated this is most likely a welcome difference in protocol. we were ushered to an alcove with a couch and someone came over with a laptop to get details and reasons why we were there. minutes later a tech and vet arrived and we talked to them. she patiently listened and said she'd develop a plan for how to investigate what was going on and in retrospect i appreciated that she didn't go straight to imaging and other costly testing but decided to go the route of labs/biochemical diagnoses to rule things like pancreatitis out. once she left us, i got a text message with a quote and link to pre pay. having done that, we waited a bit longer and another pair of staff arrived to draw blood. we were told it would take about 30min for lab results. we waited, we watched the staff moving around to different patients with different needs levels. eventually the vet returned with lab results and recommendations before another tech came with discharge papers and a goodie bag of sample gastrointestinal foods. all told, we were there about two hours and i was highly impressed with the level of service and care we received. things were clean, the staff all seemed positive about the company they are employed by and they genuinely care about delivering a high standard of care to everyone who walked through the doors, human and animal. one thing i appreciated was that the vet mentioned that i could call or email with follow up questions and also mentioned that if we needed to return, we could go to the interbay location because all locations are connected and would have access to his file/treatments. yesterday we received a follow up text to check on him, also encouraging calls if we have questions. VEG seems to have emergency veterinary service and human customer service dialed in. it's hard to know who and where to go in an emergency but i'd carried the VEG name and number in my phone for years without having a need to use them; now i can say that i'd recommend them based on our experience this past weekend.

So thankful for VEG and the prompt and compassionate care they gave our dog, Penny. The doctor…read morewalked me through all of our options and took amazing and gentle care of our girl in her last moments. When it was time to say goodbye we were taken to a private room so we could spend as much time as we needed together. They made sure it was a peaceful passing for Penny, but also regularly checked in on me and explained everything kindly and thoroughly. I would like to especially shout out Ashton, who was kind enough to make Penny a beautiful plate of sweets and even shared her own piece of pie. It was so helpful to be around such a caring individual at the worst moment of my life. We had taken Penny in once before, and my husband and I both appreciated the set up of the clinic - you can see your animal being cared for and be with them every second. We didn't ever stay overnight with Penny during a hospitalization, but what an amazing thing to be able to be with them the whole time. Other emergency vets aren't like that. Thank you, VEG!

The team at VEG were delightful. Great communication, from triage to checkout. My kitty has…read moresensitive skin, which comes with irritation from every little thing. She had been scratching around her eyes, and had developed some scratches that were inflamed. Ultimately, she was prescribed antibiotics, with a proposed eye dye. The medical director was my treating vet, and she explained why the eye dye was suggested, but not required. In an expensive time, I'm very appreciative that they didn't push for an unnecessary test. She and the team all had great bedside manner. Yes, the wait was a bit long, but it wasn't through any fault of the staff; multiple stat cases had come in and understandably, skin irritation wasn't at the top of the to-do list. Also, they did let me know up front that it would be a bit of a wait, so again, good communication. While I hope I never have to take my baby into an emergency vet, I would definitely come back to VEG.

Dr. Ryan Swanson on 07/03 - 07/04/26 for my Frenchie puppy was phenomenal. They treated a severe…read moreear infection that I was not aware of. He went through all my options and recommended all possible treatments. Roux has been thriving ever since. I was bawling because my puppy wasn't walking, eating or drinking... but the pain was deep in the ear canal that Dr. Ryan Swanson made sure he would do everything to keep him comfy and healthy and safe. We didn't lose an eardrum! Also. There was a nurse here named Nicole that night. We stayed for over 7+ hours and she helped ease my anxiety. I am so grateful it was Dr. Swanson and Nicole. This was my first time back here since my other puppy passed away. So they made me feel better about everything and that Roux was going to be ok!

Effective in curing the symptom: 2/5 Customer service: 5/5…read morePrice: I have insurance, so I won't discuss it here. My cat extensively vomited yellow liquid and showed signs of lethargy. My first visit to the vet was quite concerning. My cat hadn't eaten or used the litter box for 12 hours since vomited, so I brought him in. They recommended an anti-nausea shot and IV fluids. When my cat was returned, I noticed blood spots on the technician's nose. He denied my cat bled, but another technician later confirmed he did bleed a little. Why would the first technician lie? Second visit: 12 hours later, I brought my cat back because he wasn't getting any better. It was almost midnight, and they told us we'd have to wait 2 to 4 hours for an X-ray. My cat also got another fluid injection while we waited, plus some sedative for the scan. Hours later, the vet said there was some unidentifiable object in his middle abdomen that wasn't blocking anything, and he had a really low white blood cell count and a fever. It was almost 1 AM, and everyone was exhausted, but the way the vet explained things made me so worried, especially when he brought up pancreatitis. I wish he could've just said it simply so I could understand and not freak out so much. My cat was sent home again, with antibiotics for the fever and another 12 hours of monitoring.. My poor cat was so stressed and scared after his visit, he even hid when we got home and peed himself! I can't imagine what he went through or saw behind those closed doors, it was so unnecessarily stressful for everyone. Thankfully, he used his litter box and ate a little later that night.

This shop is such a delight. The selection, terrarium setups, inspiration- is all in full bloom at…read morethis store. I walked in here with no planned intention but ended up buying an entire DOOA glass and light setup. it's definitely not cheap (~$300 for the set I bought. just glass, metal arm, light, 2 rocks) but what made it worth it is the fact that Adam from this shop was SO kind and beyond helpful. he gave suggestions and advice on what I would need to get my setup working properly, down to the type of substrate for certain plants. when I was picking out a few rocks for my glass, Adam had such an aesthetic eye for which one would look nice in the environment. I'm typically so picky about achieving a certain look for tank builds, but the two rocks Adam pointed out I immediately loved and got (they even have a sand dojo area for you to play around with layout). He sees the vision and helps you execute. This type of expertise and willingness to help is absolutely what lead me to buy an entire setup on a whim! But truly, cares for your build like he would his own and he doesn't try to *sell* you anything, rather he wants the plant to thrive in the environment created, and he's happy to give advice and his time to bring you to success. I never felt pushed in any manner and have so much respect for how he conducts his work. Huge thank you to Adam! Would recommend this shop if you run into him especially.
