This review is for a visit to purchase items for my newest feline boyfriend, Marshmallow. Particularly looking for toys, and grooming supplies. The store is well kept and large aisles. Just like any other PetSmart store, I ever visited. The really kind saleswoman, Amanda, was very helpful as we discussed the best way to get a hair mat out of a cat. My poor guy has several hair mats, and he can become spicy when attempting to groom. I purchased some calming treats and a grooming glove for my hand. Amanda suggested some treats to calm him down so I would be able to groom him. Time will tell. The parking lot had a security speaker loudly announcing to watch out and lock your car and don't leave valuables in it. Like a really loud announcement in the parking lot. Sort of leads me to think this parking lot can be dangerous. (?) Will I come back here? Yes. Probably if I needed something specific and didn't want to wait for a Chewy delivery. SYOY. read more

I took my dog to the grooming salon and checked in as usual. During check-in, the groomer, Kara O, felt through my dog's coat like normal and didn't mention any concerns about matting or difficulty grooming. I even agreed to go with a shorter cut to make things easier for her. However, after having my dog for two hours, she called and said his head was too matted to finish grooming. This felt more like an excuse than a genuine issue. It seemed like she didn't want to complete the job, especially since she already appeared behind and uninterested when I first arrived--she kept us waiting while she was outside vaping. I'm extremely upset that my dog was sent home like this. Not only did the groomer think this was acceptable, but the manager did as well. There was plenty of opportunity at check-in to assess whether the grooming could be completed. Instead, she shaved almost all of my dog's body and left his head untouched, making him look completely uneven. This experience was very disappointing. I will not be returning, and I strongly believe Kara O should not be handling dogs if this is the level of care provided. read more

We absolutely love the groomers at our pet squad in Issaquah! We take all three of our dogs to be groomed, and today I had the most wonderful experience with Kyla! You can tell how much she loves animals and her caring disposition. I brought in my Rhodesian Ridgeback, who is a rescue, and he could absolutely not get enough of her. She is so kind and loving towards animals... I can see why she is fabulous at this profession! Kyla, thank you for being such a loving person, and loving our animals when we bring them into the grooming salon. I know sometimes a lot of dogs are barking and stressed out, and I can tell that you just have an amazing disposition and a love for animals, thank you!! read more

Have gotten 2 hamsters from this store. First one lived a good 2 year life, and second one has a pretty aggressive personality that'll take more patience to tame. When it comes to pets personality, it's hard to control or predict, but the employee there was great at helping me by showing me all of their hamsters, and the check out/paperwork process was quick and straight forward. read more

Boarded my two dachshunds at the PetsHotel in Issaquah together, no interaction with other dogs. Picked them up and the next day one was having liquid stools of blood, acting lethargic, not eating so took him to the vet urgent care. $300 later I asked Petsmart to cover the cost since he obviously caught it from bad hygiene practices at the petshotel. They refused even after I submitted vet notes and receipt. We will not be back and if you want your pets to stay healthy, I would recommend you avoid them too. read more

I should have read yelp before coming here. Google give a different perspective and made it seem like this was a good PetSmart to get my dog groomed. First, it only has cost us $65-$75 to get our dog groomed at local groomers and usually takes around 4 hours. It cost us $133 and we've gotten more and more upset with the result of our Peanut since his appointment and more concerned with how he's been acting. This is a bit more lengthy then our Google review. His groomer was ridiculous. Claimed my dogs ears were matted? I even called his walker and asked and they were super shocked. I had even brushed him the night prior. The tips of his ears get tangled but he's a doodle, nothing that brushing can't fix. Instead he decided to cut my dog's ears all the way down which he's been extremely in pain about. The inside of my dogs ears are scabbed and bleeding, and flinches when touched. In addition to that his cut is absolutely ridiculous. We asked for the teddy bear cut and he looks like Walter Brimley. That isn't an unusual ask and is a very common cut. He looks nothing like he should. Attached are photos of his cut. The last two photos is of before. I wish we didn't even get him cut. He's curled up at home and has been odd. He was panting in the other photo, and shaking for the rest of the day. We even told the groomer our dog had anxiety. He's been weird since he got home. What happened to him in there. Happy grooming... Elsewhere. Might I recommend Pet Supplies Plus in Factoria or Pet Station in Newcastle. Even the Bellevue location is better. read more

Uneven haircut?! Arghhh! Didn't check him we picked him up and noticed the uneven &bald spots after we got back. It looks like a 5-minute job done by an amateur. The stylist did not trim the paw hair either. The shampoo has a overwhelmingly fragrance smell, be aware if you're sensitive! First time at the Issaquah location and have to say I'm disappointed. Before Covid we've been going to PetSmart in Renton and no surprises there. And since Covid, I started grooming our dog at home, and honestly the $30 tool from Amazon does a great job, just gets messy and takes about an hour each time. I will stick to self grooming unless have to, or it'll be the Renton location. I'm just glad there was no cuts/bleeding, and it did save us the Saturday afternoon. read more

To my surprise, however, a kind gentleman walked up behind me just then and reopened the register to ring me out. I see someone else watched this go down today based on another review. Really, this was awful. I watched an old lady berate another employee today in the pet hotel area. It was so unprofessional and embarrassing. It was clearly some employee on a power trip. The employee walked out and that was impressive as I don't think I would have been as cool about it. I left immediately and won't be returning to this "business". That old lady needs to go back to high school if she wants that drama. Shame on her. I've had the same experience as in other reviews, since the previous gal left and they put this person in charge. She's clearly not knowledgeable about dogs and seems to just be on some bossy power trip. She's always outright rude or eye rolling dismissive at her best, but today just takes the cake. My friends go here to drop off our dogs for boarding and doggy daycare care. Has gone downhill sadly. Smells awful as you walk in the door and I think management has changed. A Grey haired lady I did not like before has been put in charge now? Not using the hotel at all as now I watched this lady harass and yell at her coworker as she left the store. I hope that girl is okay. If she treats her coworkers like this I am scared to see how she treats animals. I feel like pets are unsafe here! read more

Do not send your dog to the Pet Hotel! My dog stayed in the petshotel last week, he has been sick ever since the first day he got home. He has been having vomiting and diarrhea. This place has no cameras on boarding and they won't commit to anything. The doctor said my dog probably ate something he shouldn't be eating at the Hotel. When I called the hotel, they wont take any responsibility. If your dog is sick during the stay, it's your responsibility not the hotel, I was told that by the assistance manager there! I guess I should have read the reviews before bringing my dog to the dog hotel, but it was last minute and we needed somewhere to take her quickly so we wouldn't miss our flight!!! Upon our return, our dogs bed was soaked in filth and we immediately had to trash it! So it bothers me that they allowed her to urinate and poop all over it for an ENTIRE week!!! Not to mention, she gets home and think it's ok to poop in her kennel which she has NEVER done until now! I am so pissed right now I feel they should be investigated or turned into the AG!!! I really want to warn people about taking your dog to Petsmart for doggy day care or boarding! I would give this Petsmart ZERO stars if I could! We took our 8 month old Boston Terrier to doggy dat camp on because we had some plans and needed care for a couple hours. But then our plans got canceled, we still decided to take her because it was her first time and we wanted her to play with some other puppies. When we got there we asked a bunch of questions and we were specifically told that they put smaller dogs together and bigger dogs together. At first Mikasa was SO excited, until they put their leash around her neck that was basically choking her and she kept trying to run to me . They adjusted the leash and had to pick up her up to take her to her spot. I figured she'd be okay and that she just didn't like the leash. We decided to fetch her earlier (about 4 hours after dropping her off). When we got there she was in a room with a bunch of bigger dogs! Probably 3 times her size! And she seemed so scared! She was behind the associates legs the whole time trying to get away from the bigger dogs that were going at each other. I was so disappointed. I looked at my husband and all we could see was fear and anxiety in our little dog. I asked them why she was with bigger dogs and that we were told she'd be with dogs her size, they said that those were all the dogs that were there today! So basically they just put all the dogs that were there in one room! I was so angry! Mikasa started misbehaving and barking and biting the minute she came out of that room! She bit my husband and threw up as soon as we got home. She was definitely traumatized. I filed a formal complaint with corporate and got an email from the Hotel Leader, Samantha Robinson saying: "I am sorry it wasn't completely explained how Doggie Day Camp is run. Every Camp room is set by temperaments not sizes. On the weekends we mainly only run one Doggie Day Camp due to how many pets request camp during their stay. This is how most facilities are run." So basically, this email mean that they put dogs together according to temperament, but on a weekend depending on how many dogs there are, they all just get put into one room together! No matter the size or temperament! So to everyone out there. Just know that your dogs are NOT in good hands at Petsmart! I will never take my dog back there! They lied to me and my puppy has been traumatized! Please don't take your dogs there. read more

This review is strictly about my recent experience with the grooming salon located inside the PetSmart store in Issaquah. Our 6 moth old Yorkie boy had developed puppy hair mats in few spots. I wanted to get that fixed. I got the appointment through petsmart website. When I got here on the day of the appointment, the lady in charge of the salon starlight away refused to work our puppy's haircut. Rather than giving solution to the problem, she started scaring us and told us that no other salon is going to accept him and you need to figure out on your own. I was fumed with such remarks. She then suggested me to book another 2 hr appointment to examine further. What the hell. You are telling me that no other puppy in the world had this problem before? I have lost trust in this salon. Never going to come here again. Sorry. And you know what, we got hairs fixed in another salon less than a mile from this place. read more

Wow I happen to be in the Issaquah area when I needed to kill some time before an appointment so I went in to get something's for my puppy that I just got a few days ago I was genuinely happy with the customer service of EVERYONE in this store it was great I got my questions answered about everything as I was leaving after I made my purchase a black gentle chased me down that was helping me find some items in the store and offered a free pet smart training clicker! Unbelievable rude "new" manager, Adams...at Issaquah PetSmart This person, Adams something, the new store manager (with no business cards), will insult you and your intelligence with no problem, and he is the new manager of the store... gee... Went to buy some fish today, asking for some cichlids while pronouncing the type of the fish in Latin. He asked me if I know what these fish are, and I said yes. His reply was: "how can you know what these fish are when you don't even know how to pronounce the name". Well, when I pointed to him the Latin pronunciation he told me not to give him a spelling lesson. When I pointed to him that he insulted me he started to basically tell me how he knows everything and I don't and everything went downwards after that. My poor Bichon got the worst haircut I've ever seen. Completely shaved her down including her head and they did a horrendous job at the shaving. Patches missing, uneven ears, and the shaved so close to her snout I'm surprised I didn't see cuts on it. Will never be taking my dogs back. They are not a grooming service, they are a shearing service. My Bichon is typically so full of energy and happy but I think they were rough with her so she's been shaky and subdued since the cut. Only one cashier was wearing a mask - store manager and employees stocking shelves were not. :( In a time where it's so easy to order online and not have to come in to a store, I find it baffling why there aren't guidelines in place to help customers and staff feel safe. We optimistically figured that Petsmart would hire experienced dog trainers to help us over the bumps with our new golden retriever puppy. We were wrong. Our trainer was Molly. There were only two dogs in the class. Molly spent the first 15 minutes of the class reciting what she must have learned at a class for sales associates who want to learn to train dogs. She barely made eye contact with any of us. She never demonstrated what she was teaching with one of our dogs. After a very boring lecture (she would have done better just reading from the binder they must have given her), each of us was assigned an aisle near the training room to practice what we supposedly learned. We practiced. We only saw Molly for about one minute each week. We presumed she was with the other couple, but for all we knew she was taking a nap. It's impossible for me to know if other trainers were of equally low quality. All I can say is that we skipped the last two of the six sessions. What a total waste of time and money! read more

This will be my worst rated review of any establishment. Due to the incompetence of the staff here at the pets hotel my grand father missed his flight to Florida for his military service award ceremony. He gave them all the necessary forms prior to his trip on 6/28/2022 for them to keep his dog. They said he was good to go, fast forward to 7/14/2022 1 he before his flight my grandpa called them to verify his dogs stay and they straight up said they had taken his reservation for his dog away because his dog did not have a certain shot. Ok I get that it's the safety of the other pets there but you literally had 15 days prior to let him know. But you guys let him know 1 hr before his flight and that's because he called you guys to check in. Of course I'm pissed off because my grand father was looking forward to his time in Florida. You guys literally ruined my grandfathers year. You guys couldn't call even a day before that you gave his reservation away so that he could find a place to board his dog before his flight? I'm starting to think this place is run by actual pets like that show Bojack Horseman. Petsmart Grooming Issaquah!! Wow I see your customer service has gone down the tubes again. I had an appointment two weeks ago to bring my dog in for her grooming an hour before the grooming appointment petsmart called me and stated their groomer had to go home early and I had to reschedule our dog's appointment. I rescheduled two weeks out for October 21 at 5 o'clock at 4:55 I'm driving my dog to Petsmart in Issaquah for her grooming appointment and I get a call from the groomer "Mike" he states that an alert came up on his computer that my dog is aggressive and she bites hard and he cannot groom her. I said excuse me - nobody called me nobody has ever told me that and why would you call me five minutes before my dog is due to have her grooming appointment? The last time she was groomed at PetSmart was in July and she got a great report card we left the groomer a tip and nobody said anything about our dog biting hard or being aggressive.. I told Mike I am in the parking lot right now and I will come inside to see what's going on. I was in there for about 30 minutes and never saw "Mike" I don't know what his problem is if he scared of little dogs or what but he should've communicated this to us two weeks before we brought our dog in and if our dog was aggressive and mean and bit hard we would've been told about that during her last grooming appointment in July, nothing was ever noted in her records from her last groomer that she was that type of dog.. I asked the manager who put these notes on the computer about our dog when we were never told about this? She didn't have an answer- our dog has been groomed there for many years by many groomers and no one has ever said that our dog is aggressive and bites hard!! Poor customer service!! No communication! I think Mike wanted to go home early so he put those notes in the computer!!! Who ever did this I'm sure we will find out when the district manager is involved!! read more

Pet Hotel Review - Don't ! We tried this location for a 4 day long weekend and were very disappointed. I requested treat time and Day Camp each day except the last as we would come in at 10 am to pick them up. Our dogs did not get Day Camp except for the last day... so we paid $20 per dog for an hour of play time?? Yep... treat time each day? Nope! Why? "We thought you misunderstood what treat time was and wanted it on the last day when it's really meant for overnight pets." Huh???? We had used Woodinville 3 times in one year with no problem and the entire checkout experience here was surreal. The final straw came with the report card... all three dogs... full stars and compliments for each day. Then someone from the back came out to tell us that our Westie had an issue with a Yorkie and didn't get to stay in Day Camp. No kidding! I always warn the staff that he has a terrier-tude about little dogs. So this means I paid $20 for less than an hour of play for him? We are going to try Federal Way, but may just start taking the trip back to Woodinville... MUCH friendlier and care about providing what is ordered. read more

My personal opinion is that some of the best pet stores are the boutique ones with all the best food and catered service. I come to Petsmart more as a last resort. I will write a review on the best pet store I have come into contact with (not Petsmart). Everytime I come in here and need help finding an item I can NEVER find a sales associate. Most of the time I am in the mid-to back part of the store and have to walk to the front cashiers to see if anyone can help me. I came in here and needed flea medication for my dog. They have a vet clinic in there and I needed to ask a question about the Advantage (flea medication) I was buying. The receptionist was clueless. I said could I please talk to vet or an assistant vet. She said they were too busy to answer my question. I'm sticking with my smaller pet boutique that will actually spend time with me in finding the best for my pup then this large chain. read more

This review is for all the caring staff at the grooming center in Issaquah. My Westie is a typical Westie. Tons of Westie-tude, won't let anyone hold him for longer than 5 seconds, digs and barks. As a result, he was 7 months old before we brought him to get groomed professionally. Krista helped groomed our Westie and she was awesome. She took the time to ask us what kind of cut we wanted (She did not assume immediately we wanted a Westie cut!). She was also very caring and enthusiastic and made sure she got all the details she required to give our dog the best possible grooming and care. She even asked us what blade we wanted to use and made her suggestion. Half way into his grooming, Krista even gave us a call to update us that Imo was doing great and told us not to worry. When we picked Imo up 2 hours later, he no longer look like a homeless doggie but a show quality dog like he is. :) My dog was also very happy and so I knew he had a great time there. I cannot recommend Krista enough for her kindness, professionalism and how enthusiatic and positive she is. In fact, the whole grooming team was great and we are very lucky to have them as our dog's groomer. Go give them a try! They are professional and the salon is clean. Great value for money. read more

This review is for the general store and the grooming salon. I have never used this location's boarding/day care services. I find that the prices here are generally a bit cheaper than Petco, I never have trouble finding what I need, and the selection of food for dogs and cats is huge (I don't venture much into the other pet areas). It's very clean, and during all of my visits there has been assistance offered by helpful associates. The BEST experience I had today at the grooming salon. My poor pooch has anal sacculitis and in addition to antibiotics the vet recommended anal glad expression every several days to get the gunk out. This is a $10 walk-in service here (be sure to bring current vaccination records if you're not a regular). It's worth the $10. I promise. Lindee was AMAZING. And pup will probably never be afraid to go back, because she gave him so much lovin! Treats, hugs, everything. You can tell the ladies (I didn't see any dudes) back there enjoy what they do and they care about the animals. When he needs any grooming services, we will be back! read more
