This was my first time using this groomer. I called and explain that I wanted two dogs groomed. One only gets a bath and the other needed a full grooming with cut. I was quoted $25-$30 for my 12 lbs dog to get groomed (cut and bath). The second dog would be $30-$35. When I picked them us they charge $60 to groom and $40 for the bath, I find this excessive. She stated I never said a cut on the phone but I always mention only one dog gets a cut. I would not recommend coming back based on these prices and she clearly did not listen to what I was asking. read more

The dog in line before us for drop off had fleas which was such an uneasy feeling knowing our pup would get a bath immediately after him that I almost cancelled his bath. To me that's like taking your sick kid to daycare? Why not treat that at home or the vet. It's not fair to other peoples dogs and owners to be worried about contracting fleas. He didn't contract fleas as far as I can tell but I had an uneasy feeling which sucked the whole time waiting to pick him up. Best kept secret that isn't a secret. Took our two dogs, Zen and Karma, to Pet Strands for the first time. They did the most amazing job ever. Been having a mobile groomer come out but each time their prices became higher to the point it cost me $250 (not including tip) for the last grooming. So I looked up reviews and even asked in a local group who they recommend. Someone mention Pet Strands. Their pricing was awesome and the dogs looked so adorable. I will return and highly recommend. My dog is very attached to the owners because the remembers them from when she was a rescue and loves coming here. They take a lot of time and attention when grooming. My dogs will no longer be going to Pet Strands due to lack of customer service. I have been a client of Pet Strands for a long time and supports of small businesses. Today the temperature is over 110° and we were on our way back with going out with the dogs in the truck (air conditioned) and we called to see if we could drop them off a little early prior to their appointment so they didn't have to be affected by the heat. Heather answered the phone and stated that due to COVID-19 they wouldn't be able to do that and they were short on kennel space. Which for me was fine. So at this point for the safety of the dogs because of the excessive heat, along with them being extremely busy we wanted reschedule. Pet Strands then wanted to charge us a fee ($50) to reschedule the appointment, so putting profits before the dogs health. I have always supported small businesses, and even donated additional pet tools to them to help them out as a small privately owned business, and this is how we get treated as client. Heather who is a co-owner evehung up on me while I was trying to explain to them why we wanted to reschedule. Heather is very rude and should take some Customer Service classes. We have never had to reschedule our grooming appointments at the very last minute in the past, but today was an exception because of the excessive heat warnings. It has been broadcasted all over the news, social media, and using general common sense to keep the dogs as cool as possible, especially since Zack is a Husky. (Furball) The owners of Pet Stands rather put the dogs health at risks just to make a profit. We are no longer patronizing this small business. **Update** I can't believe that they would respond with a lie. We did advise that we would be rescheduling due to the dogs and heat. Awesome groomers! It's a little difficult to find because it's hidden inside the plaza without any signs but after coming here once you won't forget where it is. This is a small groomer with space for only a few dogs at a time. I only saw two groomers inside. This is great because I know my dog will be taken care of more carefully. The groomer who took care of my dog was careful of his sensitive skin and warts due to his old age. She was very professional and Snoopy came out very happy. I noticed he had a ton of energy immediately after his grooming for a day or two. Considering this place charges the same as the old place I was going to, I would choose this place over it any day. My old groomer was always super busy with multiple dogs being groomed at once and would just take him in without asking any questions. I had been bringing my Goldendoodle, Phoebe here several times over the past 1-1.5 years (since I first got her as a puppy). After every visit I was impressed by their work, with the exception of my most recent visit/experience. It was a new groomer that came out to take her so I don't know her name. I asked her not to clean Phoebe's ears since we have a special ear cleaner for her, prescribed by her vet. I told her I will clean her ears myself when I bring her back home. But this lady insisted on cleaning her ears and kept pushing for it. They told me Phoebe was really matted in some areas, which I understand and I take the fault for that. Then when I came to pick her up, they asked me to pay for the service as well as gratuity before I can see Phoebe and she looked. After I put her in the car, I noticed she had a very big cut on her neck. I figured she's still in the puppy phase so she must have moved a lot and didn't stay still while they were grooming her. I was upset because they didn't even mention it to me and acted like everything was okay. It's hard not to even notice a big cut like that with dried blood. I waited a few days to let them know because I was waiting for it to heal. I ended up texting them saying I'm aware of the cut and I understand these things happen, but I was upset by the fact they couldn't even let me know it happened. I felt like I couldn't even trust them. I ended up getting a response back without an apology or them even acknowledging their fault in this. They were so quick to defend themselves and argue with me saying the cut was a reaction from the matted hair. What do you mean by "reaction from matted hair?" She was matted in other areas but there weren't any cuts there. It was not a reaction of anything and more of a result of their buzzer cutting my dog's neck from her moving too much. I wish they could have at least just acknowledged their part in this instead of getting defensive. I can no longer trust them with my dog. I also think she was traumatized after this experience because a week later my husband gave her bath (her vet said it's a good idea to give her a weekly bath because of her allergies) and she was whimpering (which she never does with us) and eloping a lot more than usual. I am assuming she had PTSD from her last experience at Pet Strands Grooming. I will not be bringing her back there again, as I can no longer trust them with my dog, and they are not honest. The only reason I am even putting 2 stars is considering the previous positive experiences I've had there. read more

While looking up groomers for my German Shepard, came across pet strands, they're very accommodating and the price is great.

I took my pet here for the first time. I was a bit weary after reading some reviews, but I thought I'd give them a try either way. First thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. It smells so much like wet dog. And I get it, they bathe our pets here, cut their hair, etc., but the smell is strong! The other weird thing is the way they price the baths. They're not even sure how to price it. Reason I say this is because when I picked up my pet, the cashier went to ask another person (not even the person who bathed my pet) how much they should charge me. I wish they just had a set price. I went in thinking I was going to be charged $55 (and I even asked the groomer before I left my pet) but was charged $65 instead. I didn't argue it thinking I might have looked at the pricing incorrectly, but there's just so much room for them to charge what they want to charge (about $20 difference per price band). For example, a dog that is 30-40 lbs with what they consider long hair will cost you somewhere from $50-$70. That's a big difference. And they probably also base it off of how much product they have to use, but I still felt that the $65 was too much for my pet considering he has short hair and wasn't that dirty (and he's 40lbs). Anyways, they did what I booked -- bathed my pet. My biggest issue was the pricing. I won't be returning since it was just mediocre for me and for the price I paid. But it might make sense for you and your pet! read more

Great human and dog customer service. Dog was nice a very white the first time I took him in but not so much for the second. His coat didn't seem as soft as the other place I took him to, must be the shampoo or conditioner? They seem to have gone a little too far with the trimming the second time around even though I expressed wanting minimal cutting and shave only when absolute necessary. Heidi was very helpful with tips for at home bathing and is very excellent with communicating changes or adjustment. Minus one star for inconsistent coat trimming and pricing. It was $99 the first time then $89 the second and he was taken in basically in the same condition, probably even cleaner the second time around but maybe there was a price increase for 2020. The employees were very nice, but besides that, the whole grooming experience was horrible. We took our dog, Mochi, here for a bath and tidy, and we specifically instructed the groomer to only trim around his face to make his head look round and fluffy. However, our dog came out with thick bangs, hair shaven off/cut very short on parts of his face, and a sharp chin instead of the round/fluffy head we had asked for. It should be noted that we showed photos to the groomer of what we wanted our dog to look like, and asked if she could do exactly that, in which she responded with "yes, no problem". In fact, she said that our dog looked tidy enough that she would only need to trim his beard a little to make his face round. However, this was clearly not the case as our dog looked completely different after the trim (see attached photos). We are so disappointed with the result, especially because his birthday is in a week and he will be celebrating with such a horrible cut. In addition, due to Covid, we had to hand the groomer our dog at the door, which we were fine with. What we did not like was that when we went to pick him up, we were told to pay and tip first before seeing what our dog looked like. This seemed odd to us since most groomers will bring out the dog and make sure that the customer is happy with the result before taking payment. We wish that we had a better experience here, since the employees were all very nice. However, the inability to tidy up our dog (not even doing a full groom, just trimming) was very disappointing and we definitely won't be coming back. read more

Not to mention their suggestion for prescription flea medication saved our lives! Our pup had contracted a horrible flea infestation from a local spot we had been taking her to "potty". I started bringing my Pug here around 3 years ago. At first they had really good service. Good people, good groomers. But I started noticing about 1 1/2 ago they were getting sloppy. I have a Pug and she sheds a lot of hair so I get the deshedding to try to control the hair. I had taken her in and picked her up. When I got in my truck she shook off like if she had water on her still and hair went everywhere. All over my truck. I went back in to let them know and asked what happened and the girl up front told me "oh well the groomer was having trouble with her and didn't let him deshedd her." I found it weird because my Pug has never given any groomer trouble at all. I've been taking her to groomers since she was a puppy and now 11yrs later she's being difficult? Now there's a problem? I let them know that I found that really hard to believe. But they insisted and took no accountability. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I just can't anymore. They have dogs there for over 3hrs. I know they don't bother to take them out to let them go pee or poo because every time I walk out my dog goes pee or poo right away. Never fails. She goes quick like if she had been holding it for a while. There's times my dog doesn't come out smelling good. Like if they just poured water over her. Groomers work has gone down. The overall service is just unsatisfactory. My niece was taking her Lab there too and stopped taking her because she was having issues too. I wouldn't recommend. I'm will no longer take my dog there.
