I've said it once, and I'll say it again, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have spent hundreds of dollars on their fish and fish products, and let me tell you, I am utterly disappointed. They keep their fish in a fashion that is borderline abusive. Multiple species of tropical fish are kept in one single tank, which isn't necessarily awful, as it seems that they have done a fairly good job keeping the tank arrangements safe, fish compatability wise, however, these tanks are horribly overstocked. I have seen multiple dead fish, as well as one skeleton, in more than one of their tanks. It is painfully obvious that these fish are not in good condition. This new overstocked tank arrangement has been around for at least a month, I first noticed these deplorable conditions while browsing the store in May, this is when I noticed that they were housing blood parrot cichlids and tiger oscars together. I figured this arrangement may be temporary, because the store had been rearranged. However, this was not the case. Recently I have been visiting the pet supermarket quite frequently, because I have decided to start a community tank. Upon fish selection, it was obvious that the employees had limited knowledge of the fish. I had purchased one female and one male guppy to go with the two females that I already had in the guppy tank. Right off the bat, the recently purchased female was showing signs of illness, so I quickly quarantined her and purchased another female. The new female was showing the same signs, she didn't last more than 3 days without dying. I had also purchased a pair of pineapple swordtails, who I kept in a tank with the three hatchetfish that I purchased. The female swordtail died in a matter of days, after replacing her, the male died. This morning I woke up to find that my favorite fish, Julius, a hatchetfish, had died as well. My tank conditions are great, and I had thought the hatchetfish were acclimating quite nicely to the new environment. But this wasn't the case, these fish are dropping like flies. On a side note, I would like to mention that recently, they have been keeping puppies outside of their store. (like I said, I have visited this place at least once a day this past week) The puppies seemed fine, and the water bowl was rarely empty. However, one day, i noticed a lady drive by, and from the front seat of her car, with her window rolled down, she began questioning the well-being of the dogs, because it was an excruciatingly hot day. One of the employees quickly came outside, and she replied, stating that "the dogs have been inside all day, and she just put them outside for some fresh air." I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but I must say that out of all of the times that I have visited this store in the past week, those puppies have never been inside. I am very disappointed in the professionalism that these employees display, and I am disgusted by the treatment of their livestock. read more
