This is a great location with a clean and well organized store. The staff is very friendly and helpful especially for the dog wash station. Bad customer service experience. Please do not come with large bills. The employees do not open the register with enough change, so they may refuse your payment even after you travel all the way there. I will repeat -- do not come with big bills unless you want to waste your time. First visit to the widest variety of pet supplies of all sorts. I bet you can find plenty for your pet in this store, if not your not looking....lol - it's huge with lots of choices..... I found the store well stocked, well organized, and very clean. Found the dog and cat foods a bit expensive. Toys, treats reasonable and comparable to other stores and online ordering. Walked out with a little over a handful of items, spending a little over $200. It is located in a shopping center with lots of parking out front. Staff seemed pleasant and helpful when asking questions. They also seem to have a rewards program, which I'll learn more as mailings and email coupons are coming my way. read more

Decided to grab the family dog some treats while in the area for another shop. The facade of this store is under significant construction and does not appear open from the Main Street, Federal Hwy. Wife and son found a cart in center of store with discount treats and food. While stickers offered 25% off or 50% off, there was no prices listed which was confusing. Employee suggested it was off shelve pricing which meant we would have to find it in store to measure the actual price. Seems like a price sticker or written amount might help. We found several turkey based foods and treats for our family friend. The cashier provided some free samples also, after request. They keep them hidden in a small grey filing cabinet. It's a good way to test out a brand and flavor before buying a huge bag and being wasted. We can only offer the samples be more accessible to clients as I am sure that's why the manufacturer makes them. Employees were fine overall and offered help when asked a question or for the samples. We appreciated their speed and accuracy. The cashier noted the discount on one item and clearly noted the price before and after it. 3.5 stars as slightly better than average visit. I liked shopping here for some time but it's lost it's luster due to poor sale advertising and employees that don't know how to manage the cash register. Their sales are misleading. BOGO is never what you think it is, it's actually buy two/three/four and get one free. Sometimes the aisle says one thing and the sales people say it's another, sometimes they've forgotten to change the signage. Then they argue about a coupon that is not limited but insist that it is. Always claiming that corporate doesn't want people to use a coupon repeatedly even though there is no limit on the coupon. Many times the sales women don't know how to ring an item up. One guy does know the cash register and check out is easy. I blame the confusion for the employees on corporate for poor training. I've seen it many times throughout retail. I was the third person in line to pay at the register. When my turn came, the cashier walked away from the register as if I was not there. She started helping someone that had just walked in the store. The employee from the back area went outside for a moment and later saw that I was waiting at the register with no one there. The employee asked if someone was helping me. I explained that I was upset for standing in line and the cashier walking away from the register when it was my turn to pay. The employee that had just asked if I was being helped acted like that wasn't his problem and walked away. The cashier finally returned to the register in what felt like 10 minutes of waiting (might have been shorter but I still feel it was close to 10 minutes). I told/asked the cashier how she could just walk away after seeing me standing in line. She said the other customer had called on the phone. Using this cashier's logic, I should just be able to call a Pet Supermarket have a short explanation of what I plan to buy, and as soon as I walk in the store have them drop what they are doing...including attending to other customers, just for me. This is our local pet store and we will continue to go. But the bald manager is a total a$$hole. He's rude to customers, myself included, and I've heard him curse out employees and talk down to them. He's snapped a employees while they were assisting customers on the floor as well. I recently built a 4000 gallon pond for my loving turtle Joy. I wanted 10 gold fishes to make the color pop in the pond. I found unbelievable beautiful fish in this store. Initially i bought 2 to see if my turtle would try to hunt them. So i got 2 to start. They got along so well that next day i return to buy more 8. My turtle were scared because they are sociable and swim close. But now he is used to them and the fishes are heathy, eat well and seem to be happy with so much space to explore and enjoy. I live few blocks away from the Pet Supermarket and come there often to get food, litter and goodies for our cats. I usually come in the evening and the employees who work there at that time are nice and polite. They greet you as you come in and always offer help to take heavy stuff to the car. Last time I came in 3 days ago and, even though we have cats and not dogs, an associate still offered free bandanas for them. Made me smile :) Thanks guys! read more

I go to the Pet Supermarket at least twice a week. I have two dogs and a gecko an feed three neighborhood cats. So, many of the personnel know me. I'm happy to see most of them when I get there. However, there is a new person, Robb, I am guessing he is a manager of some sort. He was at he front counter today when I got there. No greeting, but then again, he usually doesn't greet anyone. Today I went in to get dog food and crickets. I went to the back of the store near where the crickets are, to see if there was anyone else there, and there wasn't. I went back up to the front and told him I needed some crickets. He said he would send someone back there. Then he walked back and looked around for someone else to get me the crickets. He walked all over the store looking for someone. 5 minutes of looking. Is it beneath him to get me crickets? I suppose so! It's okay, because I like the girl who eventually got them for me. Then I went to get dog food. Nutro was on sale, ALL Nutro grain free and Wild Frontier. The bag size I chose showed $5 off. Went to check out, I was told the particular bag I chose, Nutro Max Grain Free, did not get the $5 off. Why not? Let's look at the sign. Said exactly what I said, even took a picture. He was adamant, talked to me like I was an imbecile, and as I videoed him ignoring me after that, he said he was calling the police! SERIOUSLY DUDE? Over $5 off? To someone who is in there twice a week? The sign did not say "excluding" anything! Not a good experience!!!! I got a guinea pig for my classroom from that store and I found out 2 weeks after I got it that it had ringworm because I got it ! Luckly so far none of my student has it.When I went back to the store the manager told me they only had a 7 days health policy so it was my problem not their!!! This store doesn't take very good care of the pets they have. Often there are dead Beta fish in containers with moldy water or dead fish in tanks that are very dirty. We bought a bunny from them and it had something wrong with it's jaw and had to be put to sleep. They don't give you any instructions with new pets you do purchase. Often times ferret cages smell really bad. For bearded dragons, they have the wrong type of food for them in their enclosures. Containers of super worms do not have the said amount in them. Recently bought a 25 count and only 5 live ones were in it. The rest were all dried up and dead or cut in half. I would not recommend buying any pets from them without getting them checked with a vet immediately after purchase. read more

The worst experience from a pet store. Purchased dog biscuits and brought them home. One month later I opened up my cupboard to have moths flying out. Investigated and found larva and moths in sealed bag. Returned to store and left outside for them to view so I would not infect store. They offered me replacement bag so I got one from the shelf. When I placed the bag on the counter they also had the same infection. After a week talking to managers at store level got no where. Contacted corporate and they told my this was common?? Concerned about my neighbors shopping at store and infecting their house I questioned the steps they have taken. They assured me problem was corrected and the store was clean. Found that hard to believe since my house was still infected with moths all over house. I returned to the store and took pictures 3 weeks after first reporting and the shelf the the biscuits were on still had active webs from larva and was never cleaned. Contacted district manager and after 3 weeks they did clean cob webs but the adjoining isles had bugs and webs. Cleaning should have been one of the first steps in mitigating the spread. Obviously he was just given ear candy from this store. This store obviously does not care of the well being of your pets of your home. Please for the sake of your pets and your home consider shopping elsewhere!! read more
