I've requested the bichon groom and she has patiently brought him through the stages necessary to get a good structured cut. She doesn't rush his cut and the fact that she is also a trainer has made her a wonderful match with my little man. She is patient and firm. My boy, Jax, loves her and can't get out of my arms and into hers fast enough! Dave, the owner, is terrific about getting me scheduled when I need it. A bonus with using Hound's Hair is getting to walk into a veritable art gallery every time we visit-Dave is a gifted photographer. The only drawback (reason for 4 stars) is the services are pricier than some of the competitors but you get what you pay for. It's worth my peace of mind to know that my fur baby is in the best hands.

Both were healthy before boarding and had recently been seen by my veterinarian. During the stay, my 12-year-old German Shepherd, Mojo, became critically ill and collapsed. At the emergency vet, he had a 106°F fever, dehydration and serious gastrointestinal and organ abnormalities. He died that day. My other dog, Rigby, came home from the same boarding stay and developed a 103°F fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Despite veterinary care, his health declined rapidly and he was euthanized approximately three days later. I repeatedly requested records showing when my dogs we given water and administered their medications, as well as an incident report. I have not received the documentation I requested, despite being told that protocols were followed. I also saw an approximately five-week-old wolf-dog puppy at the facility that I was told had been confiscated from a backyard breeding situation. I asked about its veterinary care and vaccination status but did not receive answers. This concerned me because customers are required to provide vaccination records for their own dogs. My veterinarian later explained that without specific PCR testing, infectious causes could not be ruled out. I am not claiming to know exactly what caused my dogs' illnesses. What I know is that both dogs became critically ill during or immediately after the same boarding stay and both died within days. We requested MANY times to alert clients about our dogs' symptoms and deaths. To our knowledge they never let anyone know. I know that I would want to know. Losing Mojo and Rigby was devastating. I believe pet owners deserve documentation, transparency and answers when something this serious happens. I would want another pet owner to know about my experience before deciding where to leave their animals.

What other pet resort do you know that offers a la cart add on services such as pup ice cream , personal story reading, nature walks, bubble parties, birthday celebrations and special holiday activities for your animals? Every time I go there, I see tons of smiles on parents and pups faces. It's like a preschool for your dogs. They offer day care services and boarding for all sizes, from luxury suits to small dog kennels, there is a place for all sizes. They have large LED screens located throughout the facility that have crackling fire place (in winter) or ocean screen savers (in summer)playing on the television along with ambient sounds or music playing softly in the background. There is a groomer on sight, who together with her team, can outdo Edward Sizzorhands that's how talented they are! From Nature Trails to at least 8 specialized outdoor play yards to Trunk or Treat parties and hand made personalized crafts and treats on holidays, you will feel like you are part of a happy family at Sawgrass Pet Resort. And why does it always smell so good when you walk through the doors? Seriously? Inquiring minds want to know how they do it? Are there magical fairies waving essential oils through the air? Does your dog need training or physical therapy? They even offer that!!! A one stop shop for everything pup. Can it get any better? Why yes it can. One last perk I want to mention (there are so many that I'm sure I'm leaving some out), there is a wonderful Vet clinic right next door. You can rest easy and have peace of mind that your pup will receive the best of care should a vet be required during their stay. That assurance makes taking vacations so much more enjoyable. Don't believe me? Just experience it for yourselves! The proof is in your fur baby's happy smiling face when you pick them up. If you can't tell yet that I highly recommend this place, well, I highly recommend this place. Keep an eye out for future community events and be sure to attend. That's when you get to go behind the scenes and really see where all the magic happens.

My dog panicked, obviously, and became defensive. I was upset, and instead of addressing the mishandling, someone who appeared to be the manager came out and said they would effectively not take him in, warning that someone would likely have to pick him up the next day if he didn't "warm up" to the caretaker. I had to cancel my trip over this. I've never had issues boarding him elsewhere. I expect the owner will try to dismiss this, but people need to know this place may not match the positive reviews. If your dog reacts badly to mishandling, the consequences could be serious. Be warned.
