I have been coming to this store for 2 years getting my dog bathed/groomed every two weeks. i made appointments at the end of last season for grooming every two week for the entire summer. A week before coming up, I receive an email telling me they could not honor my appointments bc my groomer had left. They would not tell me where she went, First of all, I didnt have one particular groomer. I used whomever was available bc the were all good. Secondly, It was way too late to find another groomer for this season bc they were all booked up and not taking any new clients. My rating of this place has gone from 5 to 0. I understand loosing employees, but it is simply unacceptable to cancel an entire season of appointments at the last minute and offer nothing to help out I called 3 times and never even got the courtesy of a rerurn call. Something very wrong today. Placed online order for curb pickup as in past. Arrived out front used the button provided to submit message that I had arrived, waited about 10 min. Nothing happened. Tried direct calling tried pushing 0 as instructed to msg I had arrived waited another 6 min nothing. DO NOT BUY REPTILES FROM THIS STORE. WE BOUGHT OUR FIRST SNAKE FROM THEM. UNEDUCATED. UNPROFESSIONAL. so we see this snake on sale, so we ask to see her. Employees wouldn't touch her. We had to physically pick up the snake and get her in the box while 4 store employees are watching over giggling. we spend hundreds of dollars on her, the cage, the hides the bedding. Everything is brand new. We noticed specs on her and assumed it was part of her scales. A month goes by and SHE IS INFESTED WITH MITES!!!! I took a photo of her at the store before we bought her and just noticed she had these mites the WHOLE TIME. WE HAD HER CRAWLING ON EVERYTHING. ITS FOUL. so we go into the store and tell them what happened. And they take a look and say "this is the worst case I've ever seen this is bad" We ask if there's anything they can do for us. Considering the time money and energy spent on this situation. Couldn't do anything for us. Told us to go get ivermectin WHICH CANT BE FOUND ANYWHERE!!!! They tell us their snake at the store has mites too. And it's very contagious between reptiles so if you have a collection they're all infected. We were like oh boy so they are from the store. I go back the next day to buy stuff for my pets. I take a look at the snake and SHE IS FOR SALE DISCOUNTED. WITH ALL THEIR REPTILES FOR SALE. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE QUARANTINED!!!!!! I cannot believe y'all are trying to sell another snake with mites. And risking the chance of this happening all over again. Never again. read more

The employees at Pet Supplies in Boone were not very attentive to customers. When I came in to get some fish they were in a group to busy talking to each other to help as they just watched me stand at the fish without offering for help until the aquarium lights went out. When they were asked if getting fish was still available. They said they were closing soon and cleaning up, yet there were still dead fish in the tank and small animals such as the ferrets had a really messy cage that looks like it hadn't been cleaned in a couple days much less that day. I do not have plans on shopping there again. read more

Great, convenient, and supplied with a pretty extensive variety of all your basic --and beyond-- pet products. Beyond your basic bags of food and treats and such, they also have neat little products like a "Calming Balm" (made of lavender and other natural ingredients) that you put on your their paw pads if they are acting anxious. Quite impressed with the unique products like the calming balm & these tea tree oil wipes that keep Emma smelling fresh & dog Mom happy that her paws don't ruin everything they touch. Store was clean. Woman at register was helpful and friendly. I bought a litter box that comes with a carbon filter. She helped me find filters that almost fit. They don't seem to carry the specific carbon filter replacements for the one I bought. I'll have to look for them online. I like their large selection of cat treats and vitamins. read more

I would give 0, but that isn't an option. Every time I buy a fish here, it dies within 2 or 3 weeks. There is a filter in the tank, good temperature for the fish, but I have had 4 fish die in the past month, and one is about to die. I feed them once a day to prevent keep from excess food, but they still manage to die. I clean their tank once a week and am tired of my fish dying. This store and its associates are absolutely fantastic. I got my bearded dragon here in October and each time I went in to get food or supplies they were extremely helpful. I went into a reptile party and all the associates brought in their own reptiles and showed how much they care for their animals. The associates even helped me find my second reptile after talking to me about the different reptiles. One off duty member went above and beyond to help me get all the supplies to set up my king snake's cage and make sure she had everything she needed in the cage. I have never received​ bad service and will continue to do business with them and get my reptiles from them. read more

We purchased a guinea pig from this location and not told that she was pregnant. We called asking for help where they told us we were on our own taking care of four extra guinea pigs. All that came out of the situation was a "new" sticker saying that they could not guarantee the gender of the guinea pig. Be really careful when buying animals from this location. read more

This is the 2nd time I've reviewed a place. If you have just bunches of money to blow feel free to venture in to this corporate store. When Psp opened in Boone I was excited yeah. Finally a pet store that's going to be competitive. I won't have to go to Charlotte or Johnson city to get the supplies I need in bulk for all of my dogs, cats, and aquariums. For the first couple or three years it was all I'd hoped it would be. Great staff. Most of them knew my dogs and I by name. Every time we walked in someone would always run up hug my dogs and asked how they could help. I considered applying for a job just because of the friendly atmosphere. Well let me tell you those days are over. They have 2 employees left there now that actually are really decent guys. Both very helpful both very friendly. When "corporate" took over the store went to crap. Everything is moved every time you go to get something prices have gone up and quality has gone down. I understand Boone is a college town and employees come and go but it's time for PSP to get on now. They can take they're corporate bullshit and roll it up in some of they're psp cat litter and politely shove it. Sure they have all the best foods. If you can afford it. But corporate has ruined this store all the way around. Most of the time when you go in now there's about 3-4 kids "working"on their cell phones mostly. Hiding behind certain aisles and piles of dog food so corporate doesn't see them texting and on Facebook. Thank god tractor supply is coming to town. Do yourself a favor. Go to Pet Place and support a local small town business and let's let these corporate jerk offs jerk someone else off.
