We just had our newly adopted pup, Mateo groomed at Pet Supplies Plus! Colton did an awesome job! We thought that Mateo would be a little skittish but Colton was very calming and gentle! He has never been groomed before and he's at least 2 years old! Awesome job and thanks for being so nice to Mateo! Highly recommend this groomer! I've been shopping here since they opened, and it's always been good. But today I want to give a shout-out to Josh. I came in the store with two goals: 1. The exotic animal vet in Fort Myers (Dr. Medlin) recommended I switch my Amazon to Zu-Preems pelleted parrot feed to improve her health. I asked Josh about the various Zu-Preems products and took his recommendation. My parrot loved the choice, and is eating very well. 2. I thought my little dog had arthritis since she was constantly licking her paw. Josh suggested she might have allergies, and recommended Pet Honesty Allergy Support. Gidget eats it like a treat and I saw immediate improvement. Josh may not be a vet, but he's a very experienced pet owner. In both cases, he told me about his own pets and what helped them. Nice people, quick service, really good selection - especially of dog foods that I actually think are safe to feed a dog without inviting serious health problems into its life (and I can count those formulas on one hand). I thought I'd always have to order them on line, but find PSP offers several options and at prices comparable to online, and I prefer to support brick-and-mortar businesses. Also DELIGHTFUL to know I can self-bathe my giant breed without destroying my bathroom. I just got him, and he's only a baby, but I was seriously contemplating building on an extra bathroom with a raised shower/tub and special drainage features just for that. Will definitely be leveraging that PSP service. read more

I went in today to exchange a bag of dog food for the kind they were on before. I had a bag of it prior to the one I took back and it gave my dog diarrhea. So the other unopened bag I took back to exchange for the brand they were on before switching When doing so, the owner made me feel like I was a total dirtbag for exchanging it. She got an attitude with me right away. I left feeling like I was a horrible person. I have spent a lot of money at this store for my fur babies but they just lost a customer. I will never be back in the store. It's a shame because the man in the back in the grooming department was really good at getting my dogs nails trimmed. They are supposed to be experience groomers. My dog is five months old still a puppy. They said she was too squirmy so they charged me an extra $15. This is the second time the first time we went in they did a great job and nothing was said I just got charged a bill but then my second time I take her in they say she's too screwy hit me with an extra $15 bill and then blame it on me and saying that I should've had the dog already trained. I have spent nearly 500$ in this store ( North Port ) this week alone, and I purchased 2 Angel Fish on Monday by WED they were both deceased when I came home from work, I find it super mean to put them in a bag, and leave them there until I get off work the next day, So I did not. My son sent me a photo of one of them, it had died prior to the other one, so I was able to show that, When my Husband went to the store, to ask for the ( return of the deceased fish or ( New ones ) he was told, without proof he isn't able too, I then called and spoke to Josh, and told him that I had a photo of one, because my son sent it to me, but not of the other because I didn't take a photo, He said he would replace them " this time " only because typically they don't due to people saying fish are dead, when they aren't. I sent the photo to my husband, and he returned back to the store ( on my request ) and the same person ( Josh ) only refunded the one. ( I understand the policy ) but why tell me on the phone, you would honor the return anyway, I send my husband ( again ) he is told he can have one fish only. This place has a really nasty employee and some bad policies. We came in to wash our dog. The gentleman there, not the owner (who understands customer service) was really nice but the older lady, J. Bolton (her name is on the receipt) (also not the owner) was a real B! Our dog accidentally peed on 2 stuffies. I cleaned the pee myself (which even Walmart doesn't make you do) and then I cleaned the stuffies. No worries it's my dog, honest mistake. I'm sure it happens all the time. They made me buy the stuffies. I was trying to be nice. They were 25 bucks each for me, I'm sure not for them. She didn't even want to hear it. My husband was asking her to damage it out and she refused. I think it's ridiculous to make a loyal customer who shops there all the time do this. It's not a small shop, it's a pretty big store. I was in need of a groomer after a very bad experience with my former groomer. My dog is extremely nervous and has terrible anxiety. The husband and wife(I never got their names) we're absolutely wonderful and professional and took the best care of my Rusty. He did great with them, and honestly he has never looked better. I took my older dog there for grooming. He can be difficult to groom and I have really struggled finding a groomer. Valerie did an amazing job. We had an excellent visit, we rescued a small Shi Tzu he was extremely thin, and the groomer said I should have him get a little longer cut because there is no flesh on his backbone. BEWARE of the grooming and owner of this pet supplies! I have been a customer of pet supplies grooming/store for many years now in IL and I've had nothing but a great experience. Upon moving to FL my first instinct was to take my dog to my new local pet supplies plus. I made my appointment online as I always do for a standard groom ($59) on 9/12 at 3:00 pm with Colton. I got a text that morning asking if I would like to come in early, I said I could at 11:30 am. I arrive and his assistant/groomer Kaitlyn checked us in and felt my dog (shihpoo) for mats and overall coat condition. She said he felt good and didn't see anything major mat wise and told me the desired cut was not an issue. I had asked to cut his body fur down but to keep his face in the current "puppy" cut style, just trimmed down and to not cut his eyelashes. She confirmed again not an issue and stated back to me what I wanted cut wise. All seemed great until I arrived to pick my dog up. Kaitlyn handed me my invoice which was $89 I saw a charge for a p&g package plus $68 for the standard groom. I asked Colton what the $30 was for, he told me it's a better quality shampoo, nail cut, ear cleaning, and it would help with future mats and that my dog did have some mats on his rear end/back legs. I explained to him that I did not select this service when booking and he "checked" his computer and said I did book it and that it was my mistake. I then asked him why the groom was $68 and not $59 and he said someone just didn't update the website they increased their prices. I then realize as I'm leaving they shaved my dogs body down as requested but also shaved my dogs face down to nothing, he looks awful eyelashes everything gone. At this point I'm not happy. I search my emails and find the confirmation email from when I booked my dog's appointment sure enough, I only booked a standard groom for $59 NO extra services! The email also states "approximate price, will be confirmed at check-in." Neither Kaitlyn or Colton confirmed pricing with me at check-in, only that my dogs coat was good, no major issues according to Kaitlyn. So I call and ask to speak to a manager I'm given "Annabelle" I explain the situation to her and that I have proof that I did not select this $30 service and I was charged more than what they listed their standard groom as, and my dogs cut was not at all what I wanted. She placed me on hold for awhile and came back and said that Colton told her I selected the extra service. Well I reminded her I have an email proving I did not select this mysterious service. So she tells me she will refund me the $30 but I need to contact corporate to have the groom itself refunded. She asks me when I can come in for the refund (I live almost 30 min away) so I told her the next day 9/13/23 she said she would leave a note for the staff. I drive back on 9/13 to get my refund of the $30. I'm met by an older woman (didn't get her name, but apparently she's the owner of the store) and she has no clue what I'm talking about and needed to go talk to grooming. The owner comes back and says that she spoke to Colton and he told her that he had to charge me for this $30 service because my dog was so matted! I'm floored at this point. Colton completely lied to me, then upon presenting proof that I did NOT sign up for this service he then switches his story to my dog being so matted he "had to add this service" I explained to the owner of the store that my dog did not have any issues with his face or ears and her own staff person Kaitlyn confirmed that at check-in I then reminded her of her own email jargon of being told about any potential charges upon check-in which neither of them brought to my attention nor did they call me during the groom to inform me. The owner could care less. Took her employees side stating "he's the best groomer in the area" maybe he is but I prefer to do business with HONEST, kind people and the owner and her groomers are none of that. I always try to make it in for my pet supplies - and am always impressed by the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff. I also LOVE the fact that the owner has made a priority of helping the Humane Society and is truly interested in helping homeless pets. I had my dog in for grooming several months ago and warned the groomers that he had a change of "something" and had become very defensive and, sometimes aggressive with people he did not know well - and if they would prefer not to work with him, I would certainly understand. When I returned, I not only had a perfectly groomed dog...but he had come to consider them as his new "best friends"! I was amazed!! I'll be back for sure! read more

I purchased the wrong size diaper for my dog doesn't matter why or how the mistake happen but it happen and it's so sad that a customer not asking for a refund or store credit just looking to exchange for the correct product couldn't even get that . And being that I was desperate for the product I was left with buying another pack of diapers so a total of $44 in diapers was not in my budget at the moment ... Did you know the owner of this store doesn't stand behind the money back guarantee that pet food companies offer? That's correct. If you buy a new food and your pet doesn't like it, you can return it and get your money back from every store on the planet EXCEPT this one. The owner refused to refund my money even after the manufacturer of the food contacted him tell him he needs to refund the money and that he would receive a vendor credit for the item. He still refused. He said I'm not doing it I don't care what they say I'm not refunding the item. I now have to send my receipt along with the UPC from the bag to get my money back. I try to support my local businesses whenever possible but not this guy. I actually really liked this pet supply store! After watching the construction of it for months, I stopped by on one of their first few days open to pick up some cat food. Immediately I was assisted by a young man who helped me find the brand of food that I was looking for. Check out lines were long (it had only been open I think for 2 maybe 3 days, so I could totally understand why), but cashiers were efficient. I didn't mind waiting as the woman in front of me had the cutest bulldog that I played with the entire time. When I got to the register, I was asked if I was a member and if I had redeemed my free bag of food yet if I was. I said no to both. The associate got me signed up extremely quickly for their free membership program which allowed me to leave with a free bag of food that day. What a nice surprise! Sorry, but you can't make recommendations for your products and give no refunds or exchange credits when the animal won't touch the products. The place is expensive. I've purchased many of the same products at far lower prices even on Amazon, delivered right to my door. I spent a good sum of money yesterday buying food, treats, and supplements to try to solve an allergy problem with my animal. I purchased 4 recommended products, but when I got home, my animal wouldn't touch any of it. The jury's still out on the food. When I explained the problem, they told me that if the products were opened, they would not honor a refund or exchange. What? Opening the packaging is the only way to try to the product. Every other place would have honored the return. They didn't care that they were losing a regular customer. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere. The snotty attitudes of some of the employees certainly didn't help the experience. I can't get my money back, but I can let others know. read more
