The grooming service itself was amazing, and I was extremely happy with how my was taken care of. The groomers deserve recognition because they were wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience with the store manager, Sam, was the complete opposite. After paying for my dogs grooming, my family and I decided to look around the store and buy him some new things. During that time, Sam was extremely rude and dismissive toward us and made us feel completely unwelcome. Her attitude was unnecessary, especially considering we were paying customers simply trying to shop after my dogs appointment. What bothered me the most was that this behavior was coming from the store manager. Someone in a management position should be setting the standard for customer service, not making customers and their families feel uncomfortable for shopping in the store. I would absolutely bring my dog back based on the grooming service because they did an amazing job with him. However, my interaction with Sam seriously brought down the entire experience. It's disappointing when a great grooming appointment is overshadowed by the way management treats customers. It's really disappointing. read more

Very unprofessional staff, when I had to return dog food my dog wouldn't eat the stores shift lead insisted on putting the return on a debit card associated with DoorDash. DoorDash isn't a bank and put a hold on the return causing me not to be able to purchase the dog food elsewhere since they didn't have his food. 5 day hold, I don't think a dog can wait that long! We have always loved to take our dog to PSP to wash our dog, but on our last visit, all of the water pressure from the spray nozzle settings was extremely weak that could hardly even wet a double coated dog. And needless to say, it took forever to washed and rinsed our dog and the experience was awful. One of the employees informed us that they have just changed the spray nozzle and that they are new; well, that so called "new nozzle" was terrible with extremely low water pressure to wash a dog, especially if the dog has long furs or is double coated. PLEASE check the new nozzle's water pressure and hopefully the store will change the dog wash spray nozzle back to be like the previous kind or even to a better kind, the previous spray nozzle had nice, sufficient water pressure that this "new" one seriously lacking. If the spray nozzle doesn't get changed to have a stronger water pressured nozzle, then we'd have no choice but to go to a different self-service doggy wash facility from now on. read more

The store manager was terrible. The self service pet wash was filthy and took over 30 minutes for a team member to clean. The checkout line was to the door even though they had 4 team members on duty only one checkout lane was open. The store manager did not facilitate leadership, delegation or customer service. I took my disabled dog who I rescued from a puppy mill to wash him because I have someone coming tomorrow to groom him. After I paid, she informs me that there's hardly any hot water due to the cold weather which is a lie. They don't have a proper water heater, that's why there's no hot water. I told her why did you tell me that after I paid?! So I went back and started to wash him. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my fingers, hands and elbows. So trying to turn the water on was very difficult. It wasn't even lukewarm. I tried to wash him quickly since he was so upset. I dried him with towels and then turned to the dryer. There's no button to turn it on and no instructions!!! I dried him as best I could but he was really wet when I left. I wrapped him up in a blanket that I had brought with and drove home. I've settled down but I was LIVID. Shame on PSP for not having a working water heater and instructions on using the tools. I will not ever go back. They could be passing out $1,000 gift certificates to each customer and I STILL wouldn't walk in that store. What a joke read more

I was in to get my dogs nails done. As watched them, they were also grooming a golden doodle. I watched as the groomer was yanking on the poor dogs tail shard, I couldn't believe it! A dogs tail can break! She was getting agitated with the dog because he was pulling away from her. I'm sure it was hurting him because she was so rough! I felt so bad for the dog! I would not drop my dog off there to be groomed without staying to watch. Beware people!!!! read more

I took my puppy there today to get her some toys. She had a blast! The workers and other customers were so nice. My puppy still pees when she gets excited and the girl who cleaned up after her was so sweet. She even got treats at the checkout counter. I highly recommend this store! read more

Nice place.... I like it better than Petsmart. They also have a place room you can bath your pet for $10. You can buy a dirty dog card with 5 washes on it for $25. They provide the shampoo, the towels and blow dryer. Now what is not to love about that? Not only that but, you don't need to clean your tub or bathroom after your done. Check it out. My pup loves their treats here too. She's pretty picky. read more

I have always had great experiences with the folks in the store and especially the store manager who I think is terrific. She is definitely committed to making sure that customers find what they need and also that any problems are resolved. I bought a harness there for my dog in early June that broke after only 8 weeks, and it wasn't a real cheap one either. What was unusual was that it wasn't a plastic part that broke but one of the straps that were fairly thick fabric just sheared in half. I brought it back in to show her when I came in to buy a replacement because I thought she should know that it hadn't held up very well. To my surprise she took it and applied what I had paid for it to the cost of my replacement harness which was totally unexpected but hugely appreciated! That is fantastic customer service!! They also have a great selection of products. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five stars is because I paid a lot of money to have my dog groomed there and first, I did not think the pricing had been well explained to me at all and it was more expensive than what I expected based on what I had been told. Second, I did not think the grooming was done as well as it should have been for the price I paid; I paid a lot extra for extra de-shedding and I have quite a small dog (23 pounds). He does have long hair and after I got home I had to brush him a lot more and was still able to get so much more of his undercoat that I wondered if they'd even done that section, especially because it hadn't taken as long as they'd said it would. So the store service is great but I will never take him back there to get groomed again because I think it was way way overpriced for what I actually got. read more

Went in to buy a recovery vest for my puppy who just got neutered and as soon as I got home and opened the vest, it was dirty and used, employees were not phased by this and just told me to grab a new one, checked it in-store and it was also used and dirty. I would never recommend someone buy a product from this company, especially if they are reselling used products that could give your pet an infection or severely sick. read more

Enjoyed shopping here since it opened. I will no longer shop here and go to the competition which is actually closer to me. When you call the store for hours of operation and to inquire about a return, to then have an apparently fraudulent purchase made with email notification no less, and the staff including the "corporate" people act as though it is a common occurrence and go to lunch with out so much as a return call I would suggest to only use cash there or do as I will moving forward and shop else where. I have been an occasional shopper at this store since it opened... I got a new puppy a few weeks ago and she really needed her nails trimmed as they were really sharp and tearing us up and I was too nervous to do it myself... I called and was told Emily would be there at 6 pm and to come on in... I got there and Emily came out and I was so impressed by how she talked to my puppy and kept her calm while she clipped her nails... No distress or trauma... The store was super clean and well lit and stocked... all the staff were super nice and they seem to be very excited when pets came in... I felt very welcomed and comfortable... My puppy, Sheila, is not used to a leash so I had to carry her and Ember offered and did carry my purchase to the car for me... Big Kudos to Ember and Emily for making my puppy's first outing in public a success... Definitely will be shopping there more... read more

Every time I go in there the staff appears overly stressed and they're often rude. I spend between $200 - $300 dollars a month here but now that a new pet store has opened in town, I'll take my business there. They also seem to use these sketchy business tactics where they'll put a low price label directly under your pet food, and you believe that's for the pet food you need which is RIGHT above the label, but when you go to pay you find out it's not for that brand at all, but for the pet food brand that was more over to the right, or more over to the left. THAT one was on sale, yours is FULL price even though the label was literally under the brand you use. (And of course there is only one bag left. Of course there is...) Every time! read more

Extremely long lines at Portage location. Grooming station is way overpriced and kind of a joke. They say they provide shampoo, towels and brush...the shampoo was so watered down there was little difference if any between that and the rinse water. The towels are old rags, and the air dryers blow cold air only. There was one old dirty brush. This is the only Pet Supplies Plus location I have been disappointed in. Not sure of the cashiers name but she was about 5'4" & had rainbow colored hair. When I was checking out, she blantantly pulled out her phone unlocked it & set it on the counter. I am not sure what your store policy is but as a paying customer I thought that was just plain rude and made me feel like she felt she had something better to do. Very nice store but I was a little put off by one employee. I'm standing in line with my French bulldog and the cashier is badmouthing pure bred dogs to another customer as I'm standing right there. I get it, I'm all for adoption as well and plan on rescuing my next bulldog but don't make customers feel crappy about having a purebred. My daughter has had her goldfish for four years. This fish is, or was, a very healthy fish. One week ago, we bought two fish from Pet Supplies Plus to add to the fish tank. One died after only two days. The other died yesterday. And now, my daughter's beloved goldfish is very sick and might not live. We took her fish to the vet today and he agreed that it had to be the fish from Pet Supplies Plus that contaminated my daughter's fish. My daughter will be devastated if her fish dies. Having fish at a pet store should mean taking good care of them--not only so that the fish in store stay alive, but also so that sick fish don't spread their illness, infect other healthy fish, and make nine-year-old little girls suffer needlessly. Pet Supplies Plus has acted irresponsibly. And the manager, who called me "sweetheart" (please, I could be her mother) had the nerve to tell me that they could give me a refund if I brought the dead fish back. Seriously? The pain caused my daughter, you simply can't take back. I would give zero stars if I could. I will NEVER step foot in this store again. read more
