I have been to this salon now twice for the same service. The first time I went I was schedule for 1030am and when I arrived at 1026am the doors were locked but I know I was early. So I waited outside cause the sign said opens at 1030. Que 1040am and the owner walks across the street. At first I was annoyed cause she knew I had a 1030 apt but my experience inside was great. I was treated super well. Second apt was fantastic. The shop is very small but it is a perfect size to make you feel comfortable and looked after. Prices are avg for Toronto. Petals has become my go to place for pedicures. I like their set up because it's not like a typical salon with the massage chair and questionable tools (have they been cleaned before you got there? always hard to tell). The lady here who does pedicures is always really sweet and gets the job done quickly. I appreciate the cleanliness and level of care she puts into my pedicure. You lie down on a bed and she give you a typical pedicure with a foot massage. They don't have dryers, so always bring sandals! I made the mistake once of not bringing a pair and my pedicure was ruined by the time i got home. I would say always call ahead to get an appointment. They will take you as a walk in, but I think appointments are preferred. I can't comment on their other services as I only get pedicures, but would highly recommend them for that alone. I have been coming here for years, and I can't believe I have not reviewed it yet! I generally visit Petals for shellac manicures. I did once get a pedicure, but sadly, I put my shoes on when we thought the nail polish was dry, and when I got home it had all stuck to my shoes! So I had to give myself my own pedicure. But it was no their fault - I was in a rush, and did not wear open-toe shoes. Paula does all my manicures, and she is fantastic! She is meticulous, and such a lovely person to chat with. I always go in just for the shellac polish (not a full manicure), and it's only $20! (plus tax and tip). That's a great deal! And even though I go in just for a polish change, I walk out with a great manicure. I can't recommend Paula enough. :) read more

Having battled to get rid of unwanted hairs for quite a while, I decided to give electrolysis a try. I started the treatment at Bay Street Clinic (Advanced Institute of Electrolysis) and realized that after doing 4 sessions, once every week, I was seeing no results. I was just wasting my time and money. In fact, this was because the lady was actually tweezing the hairs more than she was actually applying the heat from the electrolysis machine. However, I came across Petal's on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I went in for a consultation and was very impressed by Linda's advice which was to do one session of laser and then proceed with the electrolysis as it will require less electrolysis sessions and less money. Upon doing the laser for the first session, I had seen such great results. Only a small patch of hair had grown back after 3 weeks but it was nothing much to talk about (3 weeks without any form of hair removal is a lot for me). I went back for electrolysis after the 3 weeks and only required a 30 minute session which costed me $30. Not bad at all! I definitely recommend this place if you are interested in laser/ electrolysis hair removal. Their customer service is exceptional and their prices are extremely affordable. read more

I got a call today (April 25, 2019 @ 2:57pm) from one of the employees (not the kind owner I spoke about before) threatening me to tell her my credit card number over the phone to pay a $10 fee for my missed appointment. First of all, I made the appointment for Friday at 1:30, not Thursday at 1:30. Second, I called this morning at 10:18am and spoke to a gentleman (the second owner) to cancel my appointment for tomorrow. Third, if I was "due" for my appointment at 1:30, wouldn't a business usually call the client within 30 mins of the appointment time, not 1 1/2 hours later. Forth, she refused to answer my questions and just demanded my card number. Finally, why would they call from a number with no ID rather than the number of the salon? The most thorough Brazilian waxing job I've seen in the GTA. They really take their time, and won't rush you, stopping when it gets too painful. Also, no double dipping! I'm a fan! I am SO thankful to have found Paula at Petals! A girlfriend raved about her shellac manicure from Paula. I was skeptical because I've had shellac in the past and it left my nails very thin and fragile, but I am a massage therapist and shellac is the only way to go if I want to wear polish because I wash my hands so often. Suffice to say I've been coming back every week for months! My nails are completely normal and strong, the price is great, but most importantly the CND polish lasts and lasts and stay shiny!! If it gets a bit dull, just wipe it down with alcohol and it sparkles again. I could go about 10 to 14 days between manicures and the only issue would be that you could see regrowth. Truth be told I go once a week because I just love Paula and we have so much fun chatting! Thank you, Paula for making me feel great! 'Never thought it was in the cards for my hard-working hands! Had one amazing experience. Went back and had a dreadful experience. Told that service was different because it was a different person doing it. Absolutely ridiculous to not have consistency in the quality of customer service and the type of service provided. Manicure was super rushed, no soaking, no scrub, and the layers aren't done well at all - looks like a slap-dash job that I could have done myself - and looks like week-old grow-out despite being fresh. They do not have dryers, so it took a LONG time for my nails to dry before I could leave. Also, this place is quite small and there is no receptionist, so the woman doing my nails had to keep stopping to answer the phone and book appointments. What makes this a two star review, however, is the fact that a "classic manicure" is listed outside as $14. So, you can imagine I was surprised when she told me $22.60 ($20 + tax). I have been to Petals twice for a Brazilian wax. Both times I have gone on Sunday and Paula has done my wax. She is fantastic! She is very thorough and pays close attention to the direction of hair growth. The result is a clean wax and minimal ingrown hairs when it grows in. Also, the room is clean and they don't use honey wax. The wax is green and does not rip out your skin, which I appreciate. I highly recommend Paula at Petals for Brazilian wax. read more

I went in for a pedicure last week. Pros - customer service was really good, they accommodated my appointment the same day, and the pedicure was very well done. Cons - I found the lounge chair that they do the pedicure on quite uncomfortable - would have preferred a standard straight-back chair. WHY!!! YOU GUYS..WHY!!! Right around the corner from where I live is Petals....they have this FANTASTIC eyelash extension special where she'll do the whole set for $100 dollars doesn't matter if it's 30 per eye or 50 lashes per eye. The first time I came I loved them....she did an amazing job. I recommended her to everyone and i think 4 or 5 of my friends got them done here. I had to take them all out because I was heading on vacation and the last thing I needed was my lashes in the way of my sun and beach (and alcohol)....When I came back I got a new set again AMAZING job when I got them...BUT 2 weeks later they all fell off and I had like 2 lashes left....It's most likely my lashes and not the technicians fault because she didnt know that my lashes are really weak and cant hold up heavy lashes. So I came back to see her....its around 5:15pm I sat in the reception area staring out to yonge st when I notice its 5:45 hmmm my appointment was at 5:30 she should be here but I understand she travels so it's fine if shes a little late...the receptionist (very very sweet girl nothing against her) asks me if I want anything I said no i'm fine. 6:15 comes around now it's a tad ridiculous I've been sitting for about an hour...my technician isnt here and shes about 45 mins late....she told me where she lives and it doesnt take 45 mins to get here even if she left when my appointment was. The receptionist called the technician and she had no idea that she had an appointment of that she missed an appointment earlier that morning.... Not a happy camper. I had a huge event and had to get them done that night...the receptionist offered me a manicure which was sweet but I had to get the lashes done so I left (went to Mync Lash Lounge read my review there). The owner called me the next day, I was at work so she left me a voicemail telling me that she apologizes and I should come in and can discuss about a discount....I never went back... Im not sure if it was because all the lashes fell out or because she didnt show up....but it just isnt worth it to me.... HOWEVER....and this has to be made clear my friend gets her lashes done by her still and hers look AMAZING. She hasnt had them filled in over 4 weeks and they still look GREAT....so I cant knock her technique at all....just for me personally it didnt work out. read more

Went in for eyelash extensions last Sunday. Currently have about 3 single lashes left on my right eye & the lefts looking pretty sparse. Was unhappy with the shape of them as soon as she finished, the left looking a little bit weird.. Lashes were placed in a way that they looked to be overly directed out?? She assured me to let them set and take form, saying the look would change... Stayed looking pretty funky. Lol. Petals wasn't my first pick for lashes, I normally see a friend who works out of her condo in Sauga but she was on vacation & I was desperate to find a place open on a Sunday as I was leaving for vacation for the week. Didn't spend my time in the water dunking my lashes & I only use products with no oils. Read on Yelp that petals charged $100 for unlimited lashes. Surprise! Came to $150. They don't deliver the service as described in their description in the Groupon, for example, i-lipo treatment. they only give you 10 mins as opposed to 20 mins. When I asked them about it, they blamed it on Groupon for misprint error. When I approached Groupon. This is what I was told, "Merchant is solely responsible to purchasers for the care and quality of the advertised goods and services." Stay far away from these people. I got lashes done by Soo at Petals. She was warming inviting and helped me pick the colours. Everyone so far loves my coloured lashes and somehow think they look natural. I Love that my eyes are vibrant and I don't need to apply any make up as the colouring adds enough drama for eyeshadow and mascara. I have had lashes before and these are my favourite ! The down side was that I was uncomfy in the original chair, but I let them know and they accommodated me and the rest of my procedure was done on a bed. read more

TL;DR : Probably some of the best customer service I've seen. Looking to moving Toronto, I think this is the spa I'll be going to after trying out a few while there. I'm serious, they go above and beyond. Even being bad an over hearing them talk about how to treat customers amongst staff. "We can't be late, if we're late, then they won't trust us. No one will come to you if they don't trust you. It's so important that they trust you, or we'll loose them." ^^ That's what I heard while sitting getting my cool sculpting. To me, that said that they are professionals who understand how to run a business. They're there to make money, but they understand that to get business and to make money, it's far easier if people are lining up and bringing their friends to see you, rather than cutting corners and cheating customers. They go above and beyond for you to make sure that you'll want to come back. That's how they make their business. Other places could really learn from that. Every other spa I went to, I couldn't stop thinking about how much nicer Petals was even though I was paying around the same. Service: Extremely attentive, and great customer service. Had problems with vouchers from nCrowd. They weren't paying petals. They helped us anyways, and helped us get refunds for our vouchers. Because we had problems with our iLipo vouchers from nCrowd, they offered us cool sculpting instead which was extremely cool (no pun intended). We ended up getting iLipo, and IPL Photofacials as well. Petals understands what good customer service is. If you are having problems, calmly and kindly tell them what's up, and they will give you the moon to make you happy. They offered to do the services free of charge because of all of the problems we had with nCrowd (that's not even their fault). They treated us so well, we paid them the worth of the vouchers and then extra even though they offered to do it for free. I'm not made of money, they were just that awesome to us when they could have pulled a "Secrets from your Sister" and just acted like it wasn't their problem. They were extremely attentive, and eager to hear about our results. Their prices are relative with the super cheap spas in the area, but their service and the environment blows other places out of the water. During the cool sculpting, I was provided with blankets, pillows, water, and snacks. We also got the iLipo paired with our photofacials, the entire experience was very fun, and interesting. To be honest, the whole concept of cosmetic lasers is more interesting to me than the benefits, yet from the iLipo to my mid section, I lost an inch within the 20 minutes. They measure you before and after, and you can watch them do it. I was impressed. Side note: I would say that if you're relatively fit, but have a hard time getting rid of that stubborn layer of fat just won't leave no matter how much you run and diet, this is the thing to do. I got cool sculpting to my thighs, and have lost 3/4 of an inch in diameter. I am more than impressed with the results, and had more than enough fun geeking out about the gadgets they used. Photofacials take a series to see results, yet, my friend and myself noticed a decrease in subcutaneous acne, fine lines around my eyes, and my damaged pores are noticeably smaller. I'm seriously impressed with the results being that you usually need a series of 5-7. The technician took her time and made sure she got every inch of our faces, and even covered parts of our neck (which other places usually charge separately). She also went over our areas of concern twice. I went to another spa for skin rejuvenation (because why not, lasers are fun), and they weren't nearly as attentive or detailed in their treatment. They just zipped over our faces quickly, and I feel that they didn't even try to go in between my eyebrows. Petals is right downtown and a 2 minute walk from the subway lines. They're just great. I have been going here for electrolysis for three weeks now and I am absolutely happy with the results as well as the customer service at Petals. Everyone here will go above and beyond to accommodate clients and they are very professional but very friendly. Linda who does the treatments has been very caring and she has always been concern about any pain that I would go through and trying every possible way to minimize it. Honestly, I was a little uneasy on the first day even with the numbing cream but once you get used to it, it is not as bad as it sounds. The charges are very reasonable and the place is super clean. The best thing is how they make you feel welcomed and cared. Facial hair has been a huge insecurity to me and I do not like regular waxing so I have been using drugstore products and some occasional waxing. I agree with bad reviews about this place. On Monday I found a coupon on groupon for Unlimited ilipo treatments and tried calling them. They didn't answer the phone until like the 5th time I called. I finally got to speak with someone and she barely explained anything about the treatments. I still decided to go ahead it since I have already done some research about it online. I called back and spoke with someone else and booked an appointment for Wednesday. She took my info and booked me in. Wednesday came along and another lady called me telling me that she's sick and she has to reschedule me, come in on Friday. I said okay. She said she doesn't know my name because there's nothing down other than my number. So I gave it to her thinking "okay it's find maybe the other lady got busy and didn't write my name down just my number." I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Mind you, all along I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. I just really wanted to get this ilipo treatments done, so I was looking past EVERYTHING that's bad about this place which is pretty much everything.. just because I wanted it done. I was completely wrong for doing that. Friday came along and I was on my way there. Traffic was super heavy and I couldn't find parking for the life of me. I called when we were in traffic and like 10 minutes away saying I will be late. The lady on the phone said "no, there's no appointment for 515 today." I heard in the background the other lady saying "515? Yeah I booked an appointment" the lady that I was on the phone said back to her "for ilipo?" And the other lady said "no, I booked something else." When I'm almost certain that was the same lady I spoke with on Wednesday about rescheduling. So i don't know what was going on. Then the lady on the phone was like "it's okay, since you're here come in." I replied with "no I was already booked in for today. I AM coming in but I'm just calling to let you know I will be a bit late." She was acting as if she was doing my a favour. No, you guys messed up and didn't book me in. That it NOT my fault. That was whoever I spoke with on Wednesday's fault, which in turn is the business's fault. Half an hour passes by and we finally found parking. She called back saying she can't wait for me because she needs to go for 6. I understand I am late but you could of been much more nicer about it. You own a business if you don't own it you are working in customer service, you should know how to talk to people and treat them. I know that because I myself work in customer service. So I said I'm like 5 minutes away I'm parked and walking to your place. She's like you called earlier saying you have an appointment and I didn't see it in the book. I told you to come in and you said you will be here in a little late. I waited and I am still waiting. So I said I'm coming. It will take me 5 minutes to walk over. Should I still come or just go home? She said ok come and hung up. I started walking and I was speaking with my fiancé about it and he said it made no sense to come. Once I start it I will have to keep coming back. Twice a week. Is this something that I really want to deal with for twice a week for a year? I thought about it and said no. So I called the lady back and said I'm not coming because you were being extremely rude and you should know how to speak to people. I should have believed the reviews that I have read online and I shouldn't have come to you guys. She's all like no no you said you were coming so I waited. I'm sorry that they didn't book you in. That's not my fault. I didn't book you. I never take anyone after 530. You still come in. I'm sorry that no one booked you in. You can come and check the book and see for yourself. I said ok and hung up. I spoke with my fiancé again and he said leave them. If this is something I really want to do I can continue working out for the time being until we save up some more money and we'll go somewhere better. He called back and said no. Awful experience with their customer services. This place is close to where I live so I thought I would get my eyebrows threaded here. I dropped by on three separate occasions and needless to say I will not be going back again. On day one I went by and the lady said they were full, which was fine and I could stop by another day. Day 2 I tried to call ahead of time to check for availability and to book an appointment but I called three times and no one picked up the phone so I had to stop by again. The lady said she was busy, and told me I could come back on the same day at 4:15 and she could fill me in which I agreed. When I came back at 4:15 she was in the middle of a manicure and just said sorry I'm still going the manicure I can't do it and went back to her manicure. Awful services. If you only have one person doing eyebrows and she is always busy that's fine, but I called three times trying to book an appointment to no avail, and she said I could come back at 4:15, when I did she just said I can't do your appointment sorry. I got a shellac manicure and my nail chipped after 2 days and when I called in to ask if I could get it fixed the lady on the phone was completely unhelpful. My pedicure was also not done properly.
