Just had the best experience shopping at this petco! The associate, Will, was extremely knowledgeable and provided me info on my breed of dog that I didn't know! Super helpful and friendly! My boyfriend and I came here for snake food and while he looks for that I always stop and look at the fish. While looking at the betas I was disgusted... they are treated so badly and also have a few selection, probably for a reason. Most of the betas had plants in the container, which is fine, but they need to be better kept when there's plants. Most of the fish were decaying in the water while others were on the verge of dying. The store clerk at the front said that they were "sleeping" which could be true, but she was not aware of what a dead fish looks like. Will, who "keeps up" with the fish obviously cannot. Do better. I used to like this store, they would always honor competitor's coupons and even Amazon prices if it was the exact same product. Well the man who said he was the "boss" and told me today they never did this, I explained yes, the cashiers gladly did it for me numerous times. And I am just talkind about a few bucks, nothing crazy. Ususally 10% coupon. He could of been more polite about it instead of talking to me like I was an idiot. I will not shop there anymore. Full line pet store that carries live fish, reptiles, birds and rodents. Clean store, we'll merchandised, excellent variety and friendly staff. They also offer dog grooming. They hold cat adoption days on Saturdays & Sundays. FurEver Friends rescue in Old Fort brings cats & kittens in that have been pulled from high kill shelters. The owner Steve gives his heart and resources to these precious felines and spends his weekends finding them loving homes. I applaud Petco for supporting and hosting this event every weekend. I took my golden doodle at 9 am today and at 1:39 I finally called the groomer just so she could tell me a lie about my dog acting up trying to bite her which my dog has been to other groomers and never had a problem then she told me she couldn't finish her and I go to pick her up 5 hours later my poor lil girl was gapped everywhere so sad that so called people apply for groomer position that does not care for your puppy only a payday get another job obviously this one ain't for you I rate this groomer a zero that charged me still 55 dollars for sorry ass work yes I called your corporate office and anybody that has had a problem here needs to do the same never again will I go there for anything read more

I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I had a buy online pick up in store and additionally grabbed a treat for my dog. The girl complained about us paying with card and then they had my BOPUS but wouldn't give it to me because it said picked up in their system but was clearly there with my name on it. She told a manager and he did nothing but thankfully someone finally came and had some sense to help us quickly because clearly we didn't pick up our order. Sorry for my overuse of clearly but it was a sh** show. Only petco in my area and I prefer this over petsmart so will be back for that reason only.. read more

Haven't been here in about a year or 2 but so glad I gave them a try today! There's an entire new staff, it doesn't stink, shelves aren't empty, animals look healthy and staff is actually helpful. I came here to buy stuff for my cats. The selection of cat towers, and food were extensive, but besides that the selection for cat supplies is somewhat limited compared to other stores. The staff were fantastic though! I believe the two that yelped me were Gracie and Savannah, but they both went above and beyond to help me with my shopping and compare my options. Customer service like that easily makes this my new favorite pet store in the area. read more

Alright. This review right here is for Tiffany. WOW WOW WOW. She is PHENOMENAL. We always come to Petco, usually either this location or Merrimon, but I'm glad we chose Brevard today. We went to check out and Tiffany saw my partner's Pals Rewards card and asked if we ever used our rewards, and we didn't even know! So she had us download the app and bam, all these rewards we never knew about pop up. She saved us money and went out of her way to do so. Tiffany, that meant so much to us! I took my pup to their grooming department to get a simple wash, and I had made an appointment ahead of time. When I got there the guy told me it would take a few hours bc he was gonna wash the dog and then take a lunch break before drying him. When I asked him if he was just gonna stick him in a crate wet and cold, he just said "yeah, with the other dogs". Anyhow, I convinced him not to do that and to at least dry him afterwards he said he would. When I came to pick up my pup his head was still wet and stinky bc it never was actually washed. I typically wash my dog myself but didn't have the time this time, but if you are in my situation please save your money or go somewhere else before here. read more

We came to this Petco during our vacation, which included two of our Fur Babies. One of our dogs needed a new harness and leash. Additionally, we were in need of more dog food. Unfortunately, this Petco location didn't have a good selection of Blue Buffalo dog food nor name brand harnesses/leashes beyond the Petco brand. So, we decided to give the Petco harness/leash a try and I quickly regretted our decision the same day when the leash popped open during a busy street walk!!! Also, the harness wasn't much better, as it seemed to loosen as I tried to grab and secure my dog. Luckily, I was able to keep my fur baby safe, but will NEVER buy the Petco brand again! Obviously, this situation speaks to a bigger issue with Petco products beyond this particular store. And, I'm giving two stars for the ease with which we were able to return the items for a refund. However, the lack of options for dog food and harnesses/leashes at this store made this a particularly frustrating experience. Will avoid this location the next time we're in town. read more

The store on Brevard road is my local store. Emily the groomers is so good with my yorkie Samson. She really cares about the animals. My dog is a squirmer so he had a couple boo boo's in his fur, but over-all I am satisfied with his cut. She did a great job with his cute ears. The staff is pretty new and a lot nicer than the old staff. This is the place I take him from now on. I pray the same staff stays, they are a delight. read more

Awful "customer service" these people don't care about helping the customer at all. Had a couple pets die from this location because they lack the skill or decency to know how to care for animals. I can't comment on the actual grooming but I do have a review about their customer service. My husband tried to make an appointment but was on hold so long he gave up. I called at a different time of day and made an appointment that I explained I may have to change to the following day after confirming with my husband. I, in fact called back a few minutes later & changed it. My husband showed up for the appointment and was told he didn't have one, that ours was for the day before. He was treated very rudely. I tried to call the manager, Mike, a couple times thereafter just to talk about it. I even left a message with my name & number but I never got a call back. read more

Heading straight for the ferrets and chinchillas, I already knew what my choice in pet was. I stood around for 10 - 15 minutes just waiting for a worker to open their cage so I could hold one and when someone finally came around, they were rushing off to the front with someone else. After another 20 minutes of waiting, I went towards the cash registers and the worker was nowhere in sight. Finally I saw the manager and he got the cages open for me, but acted as if I was wasting his time giving him MY money. The only reason this place gets 4 stars is because I got to go home with two new pet ferrets, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. read more

I wish I could give this store a negative star review. My husband and I wanted to take our son and daughter to get two little goldfish as a reward for my five year old son completing his Stem Camp. He's been wanting a fish for months and we promised him we'd take him and his sister to get some when brother completed his camp this summer. Well, boy did we pick the WRONG pet store for what was suppose to be an enjoyable and fun experience. We walked into the store and I almost died. Literally almost hit the floor. It smelled like death. I'm not sure if it was the guinea pigs and ferrets or the aquatic section, but my son who has a sensory processing disorder almost vomited on the spot. Someone needs to keep this store's cleanliness up to par. I know we weren't the only ones to have an issue with the smell, there were several other customers I noticed practically holding their noses. Smell crisis averted, we went into the aquatic section to figure out what we needed. We WANTED two small goldfish. The basic setup. Like when we were kids.. goldfish in a bowl. Nothing over the top. And here we hit our second pothole in this nightmare of a trip. We get help from Beth. Who we had to track down. Once my husband found her, she appeared to be on the phone and told us it would be a moment. Fine. No big deal, we were looking around anyways. What DID bother me was when she clomped over five minutes later, rolling her eyes, huffing and puffing while muttering, "I guess I'll just help you guys, I'm on hold with the other store manager and I'll have to just call him back." Well I'm so glad you decided to just do your job and help us out with your stellar customer service and delightful attitude. She was literally angry we needed help, didn't want to help us, and then the crap experience gets crappier. We let Beth know we want just two small gold fish, the basics. We just basically needed her to let us know what types of fish could be in the same tank without eating each other. She insists we need at least a 55 gallon tank for two fish the size of my thumbnail. That anything smaller is just going to kill them. We dance around back and forth about how we didn't feel that was necessary and she suggested a beta fish. Ok, well apparently beta fish need a ten gallon tank to live happily. At this point I'm irritated. My kids can tell she's just irritated by our presence and want to actually leave with no fish.. but over my dead body was Beth gonna kill this experience. I was leaving that store with a fish and I didn't care what she had to say about it. After dismissing Debbie Downer, we strolled the store and my daughter caught sight of a beta fish she thought was pretty. My son was satisfied with getting a beta as well so we went with a split tank so we could keep them both in the same tank happily. We got our plants and rocks and food and rushed to the register as quick as we possibly could. Before the fumes or the morale of the store killed our souls. Here is where my patience almost completely snapped so much that I had to take my kids to the car while my husband checked out. We were second in line at the register. The man in front of us had a bag of dog food he was buying and then we were up, when suddenly out of the corner of my eye I see Beth has all of a sudden decided to DO HER JOB and is walking toward the registers, looks at us about to load our goods onto the register belt and tells us she can take us on the register over. Uh ok? We're literally about to check out, why the need to haul to the check out? To help the employee work his line of two down so the store doesn't turn into a frenzy? She wanted to check us out, to see what we'd decided on buying and probably to give her unneeded two cent on it. My husband told her he was just fine waiting. I will never again walk into this store. It smells like hot trash and Beth is a mood killer. Go to PetSmart. read more

Today at Petco was one of the worst experiences I've had with my friend and her service dog. We needed help finding a collapsible bowl and asked dawn for help. I told her it was for my friends service dog, trying to emphasize that she's working and to leave the dog alone. It apparently didn't work because she proceeds to talk and pet my friends service dog. My friend told her don't do that, in which she replied "...well I'm the manger so..." I didn't hear the rest of her matter of fact comment because I was so shocked. How selfish can you be to knowingly pet and distract a seeing eye dog!! More knowledge of service animals needs to be taught. Someone petting, calling or paying too much attention to a service dog can distract the dog and damage the relationship between dog and owner. We will go back when she is NOT working... read more

Had an appt this morning for dog to be groomed. I was gonna be late to the appt so I called more than three times to make sure it was still ok to go but no one picked up the phone. I showed up and the place was empty. The groomer at the counter told me she couldn't groom the dog as they were too busy today - yet the place was empty. Seemed like she just didn't want to work. Would have been helpful if someone would answer the phone when I called bunch of times. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
