BE AWARE!!! IF YOU ARE DOING A STORE CREDIT/ REFUND FROM THIS LOCATION, MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE REFUNDED FUNDS AND DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU ABOUT REFUND POLICY!!! I would like to warn everyone who is doing a refund from this location. Last week, I returned two cat litters that were purchased by mistake. My return was within the store credit policy's 60-day window. While they were finalizing my return, I realized that I was being credited $9 less than the value of the purchase. I asked them why I wasn't getting the full credit. Their response was "we do not refund credits from gift card/ reward purchases". I asked to talk with the manager in order to figure this issue out. What I heard from the store manager was even more shocking. The store manager told me, "You are giving what you actually paid." WOW!!! I think their managers are not aware that we also pay money to purchase gift cards, and reward points/ credits are given to customers as an appreciation.... basically, they are our money too! Moving forward, I asked him if he could give me a gift card for the reward/ gift card value I was returning to... He threw a look at me like I was asking for all the cash in the store! It was so humiliating. I was asking for the value of the product, and he made me feel like a beggar. Not appreciated at all! He then told me to call the customer service and talk with them. Within 2 minutes of my call with customer service, I was given $10 reward to my account. It was that easy!!! What I do not understand about the PETCO policy is, if it was going to be this easy to return the credit, why was I humiliated and misled by the store personnel? I knew I should've just walked out when the groomer came in with an attitude. She called to change my appointment which I did not agree to and then got mad at me because I was not on her schedule. Then she tried to charge me $130 for a 51 pound dog. Come to find out at Wag N Wash you can get a full groom for $99, a full cut, wash, nails, trimmed etc.. I then told her that I couldn't pick up my dog until 5:15 after I got off of work. She continued to call me between 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock for me to come and get my dog when she knew I didn't get off until 5 o'clock. I was kind enough to still leave a tip although the cashier made sure to give me attitude about that. She's really lucky she got anything at all....don't bother! Go somewhere else. read more

Staff here is extremely rude, especially the manager. I came here for a training session with my service dog in training as well as 3 other dogs in training. Manager snapped at us when we went into the grooming area and didn't know that the groomer wasn't in yet. I understand the floor can be stressful when you get a shipment, but nothing excuses being rude to customers (UPDATE 4/15/2018) This is the second time I've come here to train my dog. First let me start off that neither of the two other people I train with, nor myself pay for, receive payment for, nor solicit/advertise our training for income. We train our own medical equipment and we do it responsibly and thoroughly. Today we were bullied by the same manager from our last visit and the petco dog trainer, causing me to have a medical episode in the store. First they tried to have us removed because the manager assumed we were hosting training classes. No. We are three disabled people who hang out and who are constantly training our dogs to improve. We were going over drills. Some of which required off leash work. That's when the trainer approached us and began to berate us, insulting one of the service dog handlers, and then directing towards me when I began to bring up the law on training service dogs and when off leash Work is permitted if the leash interferes with a dogs ability to task, pet store or not (Federal law supersedes company policy). The dog trainer was aggressive, immature, unprofessional, and insulting to all of us regardless of how calmly we tried to explain the laws that protect us, our medical equipment, and our training. We are extremely careful about our training. Any off leash drills are kept under a minute to limit off leash time. I would understand if our dogs were out of control, but even off leash our dogs stay in heel, or are rigidly focused on us. Once I started having a medical episode, the trainer finally left and said she was getting her district manager. The DM approached us and pulled our oldest member of our friend group aside as I was hyperventilating and on the verge of fainting, while my dog tasked to keep me grounded and conscious. He eventually spoke to both the manager and the trainer involved and explained that their actions were uncalled for, and that we were welcome to come in and train anytime we want. We almost always come to petco first to get some exposure to pet dogs, and get the initial first 20 minutes or so of energy out of our dogs. I train at all sorts of locations, pet friendly, and non pet friendly, and of all of the locations I've visited with my service dog in training, including the zoo, museums, art studios, the mall, and more, I have never felt so unwelcome, uncomfortable, and unsafe. Not to mention both the manager and trainer followed us for a few minutes which is a huge trigger for my PTSD. I came back with the hopes that my previous experience was just a bad day for the staff but I was unfortunately wrong. I'll be contacting corporate directly this time. read more

I am moving to the he springs from aurora and the grooming appointment was scheduled perfectly around my move in date and then I waited to show up and they told me that they don't muzzle so my dog couldn't be groomed. Took my dog for grooming and the price was very confusing. I ended up being charged so much more than I thought I would be charged. Almost double. That should have been clearer. I mentioned to the cashier how I felt and she just shrugged! I said "I guess you guys don't care" and she said, "well there's nothing I can do about that". Hmmm well I guess they don't care about their customers. Would have overlooked the mistake if it wasn't for the poorly trained cashier. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I took my dog here about a month or so ago to get him groomed and while they did a decent job with washing I have a few complaints about his haircut. I have brought my dog here many times and rarely have a complaint. Last time I took him they nicked his private area quite badly to the point it was bleeding and he wouldn't leave it alone. I also asked them to remove mats that he may have due to his hair being so long and they did not remove all of them so I had to do it once I got him home. They also shaved his whiskers off completely, which I have no idea why that would be done at all. I do not like paying as much money as I do for my dog to come back to me like this. My roommate brought her Pomeranian to this location this past weekend. She requested him to be trimmed lightly and she received him back with a nearly bald body. She also mentioned how the groomer was unprofessional and rude when speaking to her. I do not think either of us would recommend this petco groomers until there are different groomers in there or at least ones that will listen to what is requested. read more

I've been using Petco grooming since 2015 and had some wonderful groomers, however I've decided to not use them any longer due to the prices going up and up and also for taking WAY too long to groom my short haired dog. I'm usually able to bring my dog home in around 2 hours, however yesterday she was there for 4 hours, due to their overbooking. I find that to be too long for my dog to be caged and crying.....just because they overbooked and were more interested in making more money than the dogs welfare. Now they've decided to tack on more fees for supplies and sharpening their tools. That should be part of the cost of doing business, however they want the consumers to pay for it all. My dog gets groomed every 4 weeks since she's a therapy dog, so her grooming should be done quickly. It's just a simple bath, nails and anal glands. Are they charging for the use of a kennel now to keep the dog in? I'm really disgusted by the attitudes and behaviors of most of the staff. They do nothing to help this situation. read more

I will not be going back to this Petco, they are always out of what I need, the fish section is lacking to say the least, and I was just informed that the girl scooping fish "will not" dig for the fish I actually wanted! Excuse me but I'm pretty sure that's your damn job and you can't expect someone to just take what you feel like scooping. This location needs more training and better employees that actually care. The reptile enclosures are beyond unexceptionable, over half of the fish have iche, and they just don't order or stock enough of anything. read more

Amanda the dog trainer at the Colorado Springs location off of Nevada is the greatest dog trainer I have encountered. Six weeks ago I decided to sign up my two Dalmatian puppies up for obedience classes. (Cleo 1 year and Ophelia 7 months). Cleo had a general grip on obedience and knew many tricks but was struggling with food aggression, loose leash walking and being timid around unfamiliar people. Ophelia had no general ground for obedience, tricks or using the bathroom outside. Amanda went above and beyond to provide me with the classes I needed to train my pups to be model citizens. I am a single dog mom so she happily took one dog while I took the other so I could have them in the same class each week. Cleo has toned down an immense amount on her food aggression thanks to Amanda's training and tips to work on at home as well. She is also listening better and walking without problem on a leash. Cleo is also slowly warming up to people with less hesitation thanks to all of the socializing we did in class. Ophelia is like a new dog. The first class she fell asleep in class and didn't care what we wanted her to do she just did her own thing. At the end of our 6 week session I was shocked with the progress. Never did I think that crazy Ophelia would be loose leash walking, sitting, shaking, laying down, rolling over, waiting, staying and leaving it. Not only that but she is fully potty trained! Amanda continued to give me supportive tips to help her become potty trained and reminded me that I was doing a great job with my difficult puppy. I have worked with other dog trainers but I have never felt such a personal bond with the trainer and my dogs. The first week I was embarrassed with how naughty these two girls were and left graduation day proud and relaxed knowing they were trained. I plan to sign up for another six week course with Amanda to continue to improve their skills. I highly recommend dog training courses with Amanda. You will not be disappointed with her level of knowledge, compassion and friendliness while training your dog! read more

We came in yesterday, 11/11 in search of dog food. We were clueless on which brand name to get, what kind and how much to spend. So many choices. Amos came to our rescue. He was amazing, so knowledgable, polite and great to work with. He spent the time with us explaining all the different kinds and the purpose of many. I came in with high hopes. I usually go to pet smart but they were fully booked. So I decided to try Petco. Petco is far more expensive so I figured they would do a great job. Upon arrival I was greeted by a Kylie, the stylist. She was very rude to me. I explained the type of cut and length I wanted for my pomapoo and she snarled and said "well I'll do what I can. I don't know how she'll look after because he's not full poodle." I explained that I know she's not full poodle and all I want is for her hair to be cut round and to keep her fluffy length. (I wanted a trim) So she was rude again and said "Well it's going to cost extra if I leave her long because of brush and blowout service." I explained that wasn't a problem. Returning to the salon my dog was nearly bald. Even though I requested the long hair remain. Her nose is super patchy and stringy. I'm so sad. The whole time she was so rude. She lied to me many times saying she'd keep my puppy long haired. If you go and see Kylie rebook with a different stylist.
