This is a cute little store. I went here the day after Thanksgiving so black Friday and I think they have stuffed issues because I felt hovered around which is weird because anytime I go shopping. Don't feel like that but this store definitely makes you feel that way. Anyhow, I went here for the black Friday Bogo deal on dog food. To my surprise, the Bogo deal is only on small bags of dog food. I feel like they're marketing on the website is definitely misleading.. they did have good deals on old mother Hubbards treats for dogs so I got a couple bags of those, pay gears were also cost-effective at $1.88. I got one large bag of dog food for about $60 so no cost savings on that. So if you're looking to buy some doggy gifts and you need deals on treats or small bags of dog food, then I would say this is the place you want to shop at otherwise they're just as pricey as Petco and Petsmart . I've been shopping PSP since I lived in Denver where I shopped both boutique stores and PSP often. When I came to the Springs I could not find the things my animals were used to anywhere until I started going to PSP again. They have such a huge supply of pet foods and care items. I have very picky cats who all enjoy a very distinct taste and brand of food... PSP ALWAYS has everything I need which keeps me from running from store to store to stock up for everyone. The prices are better than anywhere else and their seasonal toys are always the cutest. The staff is always friendly and helpful too! Absolutely recommend!!! read more

I usually love coming to this location as everyone usually is so friendly, today unfortunately was not the case. There were 3 guys working the store at the time of my arrival, I went for some mice and crickets. I was told I could only order 10 at most (I am assuming they were low and needed them for the reptiles they have) I've worked at a pet shop so that was completely fine. I asked the young man at the front very nicely to make sure they are all alive ( I have had experience with getting some dead crickets and them being counted towards the total) at this time another young man walked up and they began laughing at me to each other literally right in my face. In a very mocking condescending tone he announced over the PA to make sure the crickets were ALIVE and then began to laugh again as if I wasn't right there and didn't just hear the sarcastic tone he just used over the whole PA. I then went to pay where he snatched the money out of my hand which was extremely rude. As he's getting my change the 3rd guy working (he's got a beard and semi bald head I believe) brought up my crickets and handed them to me Literally mocking me going 10 crickets ALIVE as him and the 2 other workers literally started laughing in my face again I asked them what was so funny and why my reptiles would want dead crickets and all 3 of them had no explanation as to why they were literally mocking me and laughing at me in my face. Literally some of the worst customer service I have experienced which is unfortunate because I actually really liked this store prior to this. Unfortunately Atticus as it says on my receipt (which he originally was not trying to give me I had to ask for a copy of it) and the 2 others made this a horrible experience. As a first time shopper I was really disappointed in the customer service at first I was greeted by this lady I think her name was kae and she just came off very rude and almost condescending with my questions about animals.I came in there for advice for my fish and I just felt very unwelcome and put down as a beginner fish keeper, she wasn't very helpful. I still decided to go to where their fish are kept and was met by a very nice young lady who made me feel very welcome and didn't put me down for the mistakes I had been making. Even offered to test my water for free. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the store. I only really had issues with the staff. I feel like they have really good employees who are very knowledgeable but there's a few who might need to work on their customer service. read more

We drive out of our way to shop here. You'll be greeted at the door by their store associates, and everyone seems so happy to work there. They even offer to carry your big bag of dogfood to your car, which I rarely accept. But, it's such a nice gesture. The store itself isn't bad but their customer service sucks. I bought a $300 banana ball python from them and the snake died within their 2 week warranty. When I went to take it back, at the 15 day mark, telling them it had died a day earlier, they refused to refund me the price of the snake. For anyone who purchasing a life animal, I would STEER CLEAR. Pictures I took show the snake had scale rot, which I never knew. The price on the snake was dropped right before I purchased which makes me wonder if they knew it was sick and that's why they refused any recourse. I tried to use one of those coupons that are on the back of the grocery store receipt ( $5 off $40 purchase or more) and was told my final amount ( $41.23) could not include taxes for the $5 off. NO WHERE on the coupon does it state this. If it is not in writing or posted on a sign, then I don't think you can say that. I'll be going back to "the other pet superstore" after this- they honor their coupons and include taxes as the final amount for discounting. read more

This pet store is really awesome. They have a great variety, and their business plan seems to be to carry everything, which is great for every level of consumer at any price point. The store is clean and thoughtfully organized. Their toy and supplement sections are fantastic, and they have a lot of toys that I have only been able to buy online previously. While customers can find some truly great brands of food here (Orijen, Honest Kitchen, Primal frozen, etc), the store also carries a rather wide selection of not so hot foods (Bil Jac, Kibbles n Bits, etc), so consumers should be sure to do their research since corporate philosophy does not prevent them from selling very low quality/controversial foods. One surprising omission in food/treats was Sojos. One disappointing thing, and something that will most likely prevent me from buying food there regularly, is that they do not track loyalty programs. Wag n Wash, Pet Pantry, and Bentley's here in town all have methods of tracking loyalty programs for foods that offer them (Orijen and Honest Kitchen are the two with which I am familiar). Granted, I can cut out the UPCs, save them for months, mail them in, and get a coupon for free food, I appreciate the convenience of a store doing it for me, and think that is something that sets apart true boutique specialty pet stores. read more

Great store! I stopped by looking for a certain pet food which we feed our dogs. Being from Washington I was going from store to store looking for our brand and I didn't find it! Luckily, one of their customer service agents found me confused in the food aisle and pointed me in the right direction. She stated they don't normally order large qualities in this brand but understands why we love it. She said they would order more since we are interested. I love it! We have two dogs and may pick up a bag every two or three weeks be our dogs are part of our family and they deserve the best. The customer service at this store is beyond the best! read more

Would rate 0 stars if possible. Joe and Michelle (the owners) are incompetent at working the computers; sat there for 30 min watching Joe try to figure out how to enter a manufacturers coupon. He did not ask any of his employees for help who have helped us in the past effectively. Instead, because of his incompetence, he decided to hand us the coupon back and force us out. Terrible customer service, especially considering this is the OWNER we were dealing with and he could not do a basic check out transaction. Will not return back! Why would it say open at 8 but when I get there it's not open till 9 waist of time and gas

I have 3 fish aquariums, 3 rescue cats and two rescue dogs in my home. To find deals I often find myself going to Walmart, Petco and PetSmart often in the same day. I stumbled across Pets Supplies Plus a couple weeks ago. I had just started working in that part of town and didn't know they existed. When I first went in I was great and offered help within 3 second of walking in the door. I said I was browsing and went to look around the tire my initial thought was oh, another PetSmart, Petco type chain. Their stock was similar to that of the bigger chains but as I dug deeper in I notice some things they had more variety than those stores. That peaked my interested. I started checking prices. The one issue I've had with the other chain pet store is they are often whoever priced. This is why for some items I go to Walmart or Target to buy. I was concerned that since a smaller chain they may have very high prices. What I noticed is that some procedure similar to other tore and some were lower, and some really good deals. I then went to the fish area and here the prices were either right line with others but some fish were a lot less expensive than the big stores. The live plants were also very inexpensive compared to others. So in my mind I found a place convenient and near where I work and reasonable pricing, nothing too outrageous and some prices really great. All that being said you may ask why the five star rating. It was the staff that made the difference. Mostly young people but every single one, from helping with the fish to the one checking me out were extremely friendly. I talked to one about fish and seemed knowledgeable and everyone was willing to listen. Tonight I went in and the young man who helped me with fish admitted he didn't know a lot, it wasn't his area of expertise but was willing to find someone with answers if I had questions. Being somewhat knowledgeable I didn't really have questions but as he helped me we talked a lot and perhaps educated him a little but we had a nice conversation about fish, cats and dogs. In these days it is so nice to see young people willing to work and loving their job. In summary, their election is good, the pricing is average to great on some things but what sold me was the staff. Keep up the good work and I will always come back. read more
