As a fish owner for 15+ years of both fresh water & tropical fish I am disgusted in this company for their lack of care when hiring and training employees. I experienced a snotty girl (Abby) who couldn't have been over 17 years old, refuse to sell me goldfish because she didn't like that I was "buying a couple of THEIR cheap plastic fish bowls" demanding sternly "that's not how you care for fish"! Mind you she knew nothing about me, our "fish" situation and didn't bother to ask ANY questions. It didn't matter that I explained to her I had 25+ gallon tanks at home waiting and I knew very well how to care for them. Not to mention an equally as ill trained manager that can't make eye contact or most shameful; corporate headquarters that promised a phone call three times over in the last 6 months but doesn't follow through. This company is SHAMEFUL. No clue how this company is in business. Can't imagine they will be much longer at this rate. DO BETTER PETSMART!!!

Since the dog's have been on patrol and signs had been posted, the neighboring business has mentioned, we no longer have had evening visitors lingering around after-hours, due to visible K9's on property and occasional barking from our new Security upgrade. I have been trained alongside the dog's on verbal command's and the dog's have become a valuable asset to my company. Also obtained a twenty percent discount on insurance. That being said I would highly recommend K9 Obedience training for your security needs.

Why on Earth would I want to adopt another animal from this facility given the gross negligence? What respectable animal shelter doesn't confirm/test for these kinds of issues prior to putting an animal up for adoption? I'd also like to add that the front desk staff (the welcome desk, not the folks in the back - they are very friendly) are incredibly rude. Consistently every time I've come in here, the social skills and public service has been horrific. I will no longer be adopting pets from this facility. They set the animals up for failure.

We also recently adopted a dog, the process was easy, the adoption counselors were easy to talk to and took the right steps for the introduction of our resident dogs and the new one. We received a collar and leash, food, all vet records, and information for any problems with behaviors or heath. I want to add that the shelter does a good job of providing enrichment and support for the animals. They make sure to have as many dogs and cats in the individual, quiet kennels as possible, which really helps them relax. The NHS is also a partner with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a sanctuary located in Kanab, UT and whose main goal is to help the USA become NO kill. This is HUGE for Omaha!!

When we adopted our very large Black Russian Terrier two years ago he came with all kinds of issues as an older puppy. I had reached the point of not knowing how we were going to be able to keep him when I thought of Sue and tracked her down. She worked very hard with us and knew exactly what to do with each issue we encountered. I am now working on training him to do therapy work! It is amazing to have a dog that will stay by your side and walk slow or fast at your command. He is a joy to have both inside the house and up at our barn! Sue is amazing!

Holly at the desk is absolutely the rudest person I have ever spoke with. Emily the groomer just acts like she doesn't like our dogs. This is a huge disappointment since we've been customers there for many years. My dog Louie was sick today and was throwing up. Holly told me our groomer had no other appts until our next groom in February. She said since Louie was sick and Mia, our other dog was not, they would have to charge me a fee for Mia not showing up for her appt today. I have had nothing but difficulty and negativity since our groomer moved. I asked Holly to speak to a manager or owner and she told me they would not be returning my call and we were no longer welcome there. This is after I asked her to cancel my upcoming appts that were booked each month this year. I am sure that Louie and Mia are much better not going to this place. But it is still upsetting that this is the loyalty we receive for being a customer with recurring appts every 2 weeks for years, and this is how they would treat us.

I called and got them in within a couple of weeks. Abby does an amazing job with our fur babies and would even work with Koda when he had leg problems. She would groom him while he was laying down the entire time. We have taken them to daycare, and they now look forward to going all the time. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
