I went to the Eugene store for the first time yesterday and the people were super nice, I was asked several times if I needed any help by very pleasant people. The store was clean but it was pretty small compared to some of the other ones I've been in and they didn't have a very good selection. So I would have to say "Meh, I've experienced better" based on that. I thought the store in Albany was better. read more

Kathleen in grooming always does an awesome job on my dog's nails and he's not the easiest to put up with so we really appreciate how much time she takes to make sure she gets the job done. Called ahead of time to see if they had peppermint shrimp in stock. An employee with the first letter of "K" in her name said they had some. I drove 25 minutes to see signs on the saltwater tanks saying the fish was not for sale and under observation. Thanks for nothing "K". Went to a store on W. 11th and got what I needed. I have never experienced worse customer service. What happened to Petco??? A lady at the register from Pennsylvania was pushing me to donate to the animal shelter when I said I have a stray cat I am taking care of she was pushing me to donate to the store for them. This is not appropriate behavior. Please get some nicer employees. Everyone the community is complaining about that store. read more

It's a shame the customer service in this place has gone downhill as of late. I went in today to buy a few items and while I was at the store, I checked their online sales and noticed they were quite a bit cheaper. Being told previously that they honor their online prices, I showed my phone with the page with the sale price to the bored looking cashier. She asked me for my Petco membership and when I told her I didn't have one, she stated I could not receive the sale. I told her I had received the sale previously without a membership. She again told me I couldn't, but ended up calling someone else over (her manager I believe?). I waited patiently (although, in rather awkward silence) for that person to make their way over, and when they finally did, she also told the cashier that I could receive the sale price. But I guess that was enough to put doubt in the manager's mind, because she decided to call yet another person. Again, I waited patiently while she was told that yes, I could have the online sale price for these items. She turned back to me to ring me up, no apology for the wait and with a flat affect asked me, yet again, for me to show her my phone with the sale price. I let her know I had showed the first cashier already. She told me, it doesn't matter, that that was the other cashier, and she needs to see it. I got out my phone and showed her while she went on a 2-3 minute lecture on how she's been written up for this before and she isn't going to make that mistake again. Really, I could have done without that part of the shopping experience after the ordeal they put me through already. By this point, I had my fill. I finally walked out without any items while they snickered behind my back. The unfortunate part is, the people who used to work at Petco were rather nice. Where'd they go? read more

I've always had great experiences here! The staff are friendly, and helpful! On several occasions when I've needed something specific for my pets, they've gone well out of their way to help me out. And I love that they so frequently donate to charities. read more

The guinea pigs from this petco are very sick and they aren't doing anything about it. Two weeks ago I adopted a guinea pig (Theo) from there and I brought him home. Turns out not only did he have pink eye, but he also has an upper respiratory infection. He is so miserable right now. If only they would actually take care of their animals then he could've avoided this pain! read more

Petco will stand by their 60 day return policy so will not consider even exchanging this $100 non-functioning feeder for a new one. Never shopping there again... read more

After reading the post that rated Petco's grooming salon as anything less than 5 stars, I decided that sharing my experience may deviate from the negativity previously posted. I became the loyal friend to a Chow Chow when she was 10 years old, and truly set in her ways. She hadn't had spectacular care in her younger years, and she may have only been bathed 10 times in her 10 years of life. I tried to groom her myself, but every bath just turned into play. I tried taking her to a groomer at PetSmart, but I received a call 30 minutes later to inform me that my pup was too difficult to groom. However, our lives changed three years later when my furry best friend was 13, and I was shopping in Petco on Valley River Drive for grooming equipment. I walked into the grooming salon to ask what I needed to groom my "ungroomable" Chow Chow, and a few kind words later we had an appointment scheduled for a full puppy spa experience. I left my 13 year old baby in the hands of the Petco grooming staff, and waited for a phone call to pick her up for being difficult. However, that phone call never came. I picked her up after her full grooming experience was complete, and I've never seen her happier. She was clean, beautiful, unmated, and healthier than she had ever been before. She went to visit the staff, and considered them part of her puppy pack. Sadly, she left this earth at the age of 14 1/2 and left holes in the hearts of us all. If love could have saved her she would have lived forever, but when your groomer gives you a hug with tears in her eyes, you know that the love for your four legged friend was deeply shared. We cannot avoid the hurt, but we all share the pain. The Petco grooming staff are more than just the people that bathe our furry family members, for they become a part of our family as well. I cannot recommend this salon enough. I now have a baby Chow Chow that visits on the regular, for every ending has a beginning.... And that is what makes life beautiful. read more

I've visited this store several times, and have always been disappointed. They've been out of stock of items, and have no idea when a restock will happen. Toys last about 15 minutes before they fall apart. A few weeks ago, we purchased a Petco brand soft dog crate for our new dog. We described the hyper nature of the dog to the salesperson, who was sure this soft crate would be fine. The dog tore through the crate within a few days. When we returned the crate, the manager was surly and clearly was uninterested in whether we were happy customers or not. She told us that the crate problems were not a manufacturer's defect so Petco owed us nothing. However, she ended up giving us a store credit for the crate, which was all we expected in the first place. However, her horrible attitude makes me never want to step foot in that store again. i feel sorry for the people who have to work for her, who seemed very pleasant and nice. read more
