I want to update my last review I left. It took me going through different dog trainers with not much luck. Glacier (my lab) and I , were lost with what to do for each other. I'm a first time puppy owner and I don't know what to do with him. I was scrolling through Instagram came across Curious K9 and I thought ok I'll give them a try. I recognized her last name and realized I was in the right place. I will never for get the first phone call with LeeAnn and I cried through the whole phone conversation. I think I answered a couple of questions. One thing I didn't like about other dog trainers that I tried was all the games and confusing dog training style .With my very first appointment with them, they knew the problem and got on it immediately to help me and my lab. They were very good with helping me when I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the right thing. They are amazing. I took every class they recommended. I also did doggie day care with training two days a week for a month. I now have the very best relationship with my boy. The only place he stays when I go out of town and can't take him with is with LeeAnn and her team. He also has doggie daycare days. We are like family. I would highly recommend them for any of your dog care needs. read more

We rescued a "lab/pit mix" when she was 1 year old and what a hand full, but with the training guidance and doggie day care/training twice a week over the next year we are blessed to say our beautiful Dallas became the good family dog we had hoped she could be. Goodness, Dawn had a crappy experience! In the PAST I had noticed that it was like pulling teeth to get the front desk girl to acknowledge you - but I haven't seen her lately. Hopefully they figured it out. WE took our two Westies here to be groomed after my having such an awful time at Oh My Dog. WELL. WONDERFUL. That's all. Sarah was a groomer, and she was FAN.TASTIC. I used to show Westies - I KNOW I'm picky. I know not every groomer knows breed standards. I have made concessions for that in the past. With Sarah, I didn't have to. She was so detailed, and made SURE she knew what I wanted and expected. And didn't treat me like I was overbearing for asking for what I wanted. I paid $98 for both dogs - and couldn't be happier. She knows dogs. She's friendly. She's precise. She's professional. She frankly, saved my idea of finding a real groomer in Eugene. As far as the shop, I love all the swanky puppy toys and treats. It can be a bit pricey, but it's a specialty store, and if I'm looking for frilly and fun, I KNOW where I can get it. Frankly, as long as they keep Sarah, I'll MAKE a point to go in and spend. I get my pups toothbrushes there too - and even when I'm only spending $1.50 - they're still nice and grateful. Love this place. read more

The staff are extremely knowledgeable, they have a decent selection of treats grain-free dog food, and other dog accessories (all of which will expand when they move to Delta Oaks in Jan 2013). I'm looking forward to trying their grooming services. Yes, they're a bit more then the mass-market big-box stores... but you're buying local, with some of the best customer service and most knowledgeable staff. Ask a random employee at PetSmart or PetCo about the differences in ingredients in the food they carry, and which is better for your dog & why... then you'll see why it's worth it to pay more & buy local. read more

I have been a dog mom for 2.5 years and have worked closely with Leanne and CK9 for the entirety of that time. CK9 adds encouragement, humor and compassion to their high quality professionalism. LeAnne is adept at reading dogs and keeps training simple which allows for better understanding and execution. Want to pay more than double for your doggie's treats while being generally ignored by the proprietor and later accused of shoplifting? Well, then run--don't walk--to Curious K9! Hubs and I sauntered in this afternoon to check out what we knew as the former "Lexi Dog" down in the 5th Street Public Market. We have been long-time customers of Lexi's, even though they have always been horribly over-priced on certain items. In the past, they have ordered products for us such as tandem leashes, specialty dog (soup) bones, and collars. Although we've always felt like we had to interrupt the shop girls' conversations with her friends in order to be assisted, up until today I had no real reason to hate. Today, as we window-shopped, the first thing I noticed was that the price of medium Z-ridge bones (from Zuke's) was $4.50. I remarked to my guy--'Holy cow--we just bought these in bulk from Pet Smart for $2.00 per bone!' We poked around for about 5 more minutes, were never greeted, and then walked out to the parking lot. Just as we had passed under the outdoor stairs, we were accosted by a girl who demanded to know where we had gotten the two bags of candies we were carrying. Before we could answer, she interrupted us to say that she had "seen us take them from her friend's store, and that we needed to put them back, now." After a horribly awkward couple of minutes, we let her explain to us who her friend was and then we proceeded to explain to her that our Bloc candies from Provisions were not, in fact, dog treats! She muttered an apology under her breath, and then sauntered back toward Curious K9, ostensibly to continue her conversation with her friend, the owner's daughter. I hope the shop girl apologized to her friend. Not only was she too wrapped up in conversation to even acknowledge her own customers--she then sent her friend on a wild goose chase to make sure that we never came back again. Looking for a healthy treats for you companion? Curious K9 is a great place to be for u and your pet. I always get friendly welcome from the owner, every time I walk in with my puppy. She would answer all your questions about training to healthy diet about your pets. (even if you don't buy anything~) Lots of local handmade items and local pet events information are provided. It is not over priced as you would assume. I checked couple of items online for price comparison. It is just more pricy online too because its better grade food and treats. Also lots of stuffs are hand-made with quality materials. Haven't got a chance to tried the salon yet, but heard some good thing about it. We have two dogs, but one in particular that we didn't socialize well at all (we take full responsibility for this). He would bark at humans that approached him and would incessantly bark/freak out at other dogs that were anywhere near him. We thought he'd learn good behavior from his older dog brother but clearly this was not the case. There were times we had to leave public places because our dog was behaving so badly. We were so desperate that we thought he may need actual rehabilitation. Then LeAnne came to our house. Within 5 minutes she had our problem child completely under her command. We saw her take control and, in absolute awe, watched him respond immediately. It was such a huge eye opener for us as dog owners but, more importantly, a clear confidence boost for our sweet dog. Our lives are already so much better. After she left the house, we took both dogs out to very low key, but dog-friendly places and worked "the program". Our "problem dog" responded amazingly to the training and the good dog clearly benefited too. Please don't give up on your dog. LeAnne will not only give you the tools you need to be better dog parents but your dog will have a better life. We're actually a family again! You will not regret contacting her. I have used LeeAnne of Curious K9 for a number of years. She has provided us with dog training, pet sitting and food. We had previously had some bad experience with another pet sitter and were pretty cautious with entrusting our dog with someone. LeeAnne showed the knowledge and professionalism that we needed.
