After getting out of my "wellness plan" with another joke of a clinic in the area, I was thrilled to find VCA. Efficient, well staffed, friendly!!! It may cost a little bit more but I'm able to get my dogs cared for in a realistic amount of time. The Vet took his time, went into full detail with each of my pups care. I was from out of town traveling with my two dogs one of them was not doing well and couldn't use her back leg when I called for an appointment they got me an appointment with Dr Lahm I absolutely loved him he was great with Daisy and she had no problems with him she seemed very comfortable letting him check her he told me what she needed and gave me options never pushing anything that she didn't need like some Vets iv been to. We recently had a stray kitty adopt us and we were looking for a new vet so we thought we'd try this clinic. This was the best decision we could have made for our pets. I have been a client since 2018. It was a very nice and thoughtful place and never forced you to do any extra fees around that time. If you scheduled a vaccine, they will only charge for that. Since 2019, after they re-constructed, everything looked new. Then they started to charge me a potential fee which they called an off-schedule consultant fee without asking me whether I want to do that. I do remember that they would check the weight, and temperature and ask me some questions about my dog's situation (which is free and that's everything they must do before the shot). But now, this kind of thing becomes an extra fee of around 30 dollars. Today, I brought my dog to get the vaccine, they put this extra charge on my bill, I asked the young woman whose name is April at the front desk, "what is that," she said, "you must pay for it." I asked her what was included in this fee, She asked me whether the staff member checked the lungs and something else. I said they didn't. I asked how those simple things ( check weight, temper, and ask me some questions) are worth 30 dollars? The young woman said, " you must pay for it. I could talk to them to do that because you must pay for it. " I don't know whether she acts the same ( the aggressive and arrogant way )to other customers or just did this to me because I am not an American? She said that was the policy here to check the dog is healthy before they gave the shot. But let me ask you, you've never done any checking on my dog, how did you guy make sure my dog was healthy before you guys gave her the shot? Based on what you've told me and what you've done for my dog, apparently, that was illegal to give the shot to my dog without checking on the situation of her health. Also, the technician gave the shot to my dog and the doctor was not there the whole time of this visit. Also, they didn't want me to be there with my dog during the visit, so how did I know what you've done for my dog?? I insisted on it to stay with my dog and saw the whole process of what they've done for her. I felt horrible, and it just made me have goosebumps while recalling the visits during the pandemic time, they didn't allow me to go inside, and I start to question myself, did they really give the shots to my dog?? April asked me to come back to the room, they did a pretty simple and brief check on my dog, then they took my money. This time the real doctor was there. After we've done with this brief check for my dog, the elder woman at the front desk asked the doctor " which exam you did do? Full exam or half?" the doctor said, " half." Why did she ask the doctor that question? You guys already decided to check me about the fee, you guys didn't know what you've done for my dog? The only explanation of the reason why the elder woman asked the doctor that question is that they've known they didn't do anything related to the consultation/exam fee but they wanted to charge me. I felt very upset about it. I went back to talk to them, the other woman at the front desk explained that " what your dog was experiencing was like, you go to get the flu shot and the doctor asked you couple questions." I said, what you meant was, this 30 dollars only included checking the weight, and temper, and asked me a couple of questions about my dog? She said, yes. I cannot believe that! Let me ask you, do you pay for the two bills to the doctor who gave the shot to you, one is for the questions the doctor asks you, and the other is for the shot? It is like a robbery seriously!!!! I feel extremely disappointed about your service and the unprofessional way to treat the pets! I am done with it! Arrogant young woman at the front desk. You guys really need to think about how to improve your service! I asked them when the manager would contact me, they said they didn't know. After seeing the review, they texted me saying that the manager would contact me on Monday. Now you are sure that your manager will contact me??? Their manager contacted me, it made me so surprised that the manager said she was told I wanted to talk to her. excuse me??? Your staff member couldn't explain clearly about their mistake to my visit of the potentially extra charged on my bill, then they said they would ask the manager to contact me to explain it. Not enough good things to say about Delta Oaks vet clinic! I was a new client and desperate to have my little dog seen for some diagnostic bloodwork and images after spending the night at the emergency vet and an escalating issue. I called a few places my other dogs had been seen and was met with a lack of caring and "sorry we can't fit you in". I called Delta Oaks, and Alex answered. Even though I told him I'd understand if they were booked since I was a new client and it was super last minute, he very kindly asked me why was going on. I explained the situation and he found a place to squeeze us in. There was no attitude, no frustration, no annoyance. Just a general care and concern and helpful attitude. When I got there, he was just as personable and got us checked in very efficiently. When Grimlock had an accident in the waiting room, It was no big deal. Due to his medical issue, he was having some issues, and Alex brought us a towel to wrap him in so he was more comfortable and dry. The vet tech came to get us and listened to what was going on. She was amazing with Grimlock and compassionate as well. As his issue continued, she recognized it was severe and immediately grabbed the doctor to look at him. Dr. Robinson was knowledgeable and caring as well, and got him on treatment. She called midway through the day and at night to give an update, and we took Grimlock home with very clear instructions and a follow up appointment for the next day. I'm happy to say that the follow up day was just as impressive as the original appointment. Everyone I've dealt with is kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I feel safe with my fur-kid being there, and trust the level of care he is receiving. After this experience, I am switching all of my animals to their clinic, as well as recommending my dad take his dog here too when he relocates in a few weeks. If you are looking for reasonably priced care, but exceptional kindness, compassion, service, attitude, and warmth- I'd recommend this clinic without hesitation! read more

From the scheduling, to my check in, to the visit with the vet, all the way through the billing process, VCA Delta Oaks Animal Hospital was FANTASTIC. Even with COVID distancing precautions in place, I felt the caring warmth of the team here and knew my nervous dog was in great hands. When I called looking for relief for my uncomfortable pet, they gave me their soonest available appointment (a few days out), but advised I call again the next morning to check for a cancellation. We did and they fit him in that afternoon. My dog was very nervous to go into the office without me (COVID precaution-they ask you to wait for your pet outside), but when he came out he was wagging and happy! Very unusual after a vet visit! Dr. Rensema, the vet, called me after his initial look at my dog, and was very patient with all of my questions. He described my dog's current demeanor over the phone and I could tell he was completely focused on both my dog's needs and mine. It seemed like he was already familiar with my dog within the first visit. Dr. Rensema diagnosed the issue and recommended a few options for treatment, considering things like cost, comfort level and overall health. They offer no contact phone payment and Brenda was both helpful and kind in processing our bill. Even when I messed up my coupon code, they still honored the discount! On top of that, my dog came out feeling better, happy and with a goodie bag! VCA Delta Oaks is definitely our new vet for all of our pets! read more

Delta Oaks and the Eugene Community is very fortunate to have Dr. Jim Schulke in residence. Over the last 10+ years in Santa Monica, Dr. Schulke has taken care of my feline family. Having a doctor of his caliber has allowed me to adopt 4 special needs kitties. Every time I consulted him prior to bringing home a kitty with tough medical needs, and after reviewing their individual needs, his reply was always "Bring it On!" He managed SO many medical issues, including, but not limited to diabetes, irregular heart beats and grade 4 murmurs, dentals (FORL), chronic UTIs and PU surgery, orthopedic challenges, including a 2 legged cat, ocular tumors and eye removal, and a kitty with trauma induced seizures, among other things. He shoots straight, explains diagnostic options and the risks vs the value of information to be gained, as well as the reality of finances. He is approachable, calm, and listens as much as he talks. Best example was when my cat Noah was first diagnosed with diabetes, which is a tough call, and getting him stabilized on insulin was quite a process. He encouraged me to reach out as needed, with sugar levels, and insulin dosages. I worried about being too high maintenance, but he assured me, quite often, during the first stages of Noah's care, to call as needed, even several times a day. He was right, Noah lived in good health to 18 years old, 6 of which with diabetes. Again, Delta Oaks is lucky, so is every pet that is in the care of Dr. Jim Schulke. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. A bunch of scammers that just try to nickel and dime you. To begin with I went here to get a quote to have my one year old dog fixed. They said it would be $1400!!! Decided to go elsewhere. but this location is right next to my house so decided to book her here again for her rabies vaccine just for convenience. I physically went to the location to book the appointment and asked what exact totals would be to make sure not to end up in the same position as last time with them adding all sorts of fees. The woman told me that as long as I book it before the year mark of her last visit, I wouldn't have to pay the yearly exam fee. Tells me my total will be $54. I book it for the following week. I get to my appointment after taking time off work and they inform me that because they haven't seen her in "a while" I still have to pay the exam fee (even though I booked the appointment months before the one year mark to specifically avoid this). They literally make up their own rules and no one in the building is even on the same page to keep up with their scams. You can't just double the cost of something cause you feel like it. So unprofessional. If you want a place that will rip you off and complain about your puppy nervous peeing on their floor, come here. read more

This is an incredible clinic with staff that are so helpful, friendly, caring, yep... you get it! I have been going to this clinic since the 1989 and the original vet, Dr. Stewart (He was Super Vet). Through the years and changes, they still have some familiar faces, Ellen and April and added some new assistants that are very good as well. I must not forget the especially caring, easy to talk with, Dr. Samuel. 5 Stars for him. Dr. Bryan cannot be left out and Dr. Karen. We recently went through a bout of kennel cough with our boxer. We had a miscommunication about vaccines within my family (rabies was done elsewhere). They were amazing with taking care of our boxer with cough and antibiotics. They were concerned enough for our other dog to get him squeezed in as a last ditch effort to get him vaccinated to try to protect him from getting it. Although he did end up getting it, it was a much milder case thanks to their efforts. The only complaint i had in all this was when our second dog got it, the front desk simply didn't listen to our situation and was rather rude. Two people were listening on this call. We were simply calling to say our other dog got it and we were told to call in if that happened. She was saying that we'd have to bring him in (appt two weeks out) and she was just difficult to even talk to because she wasn't listening. At one point she rudely exclaimed "which dog is sick?!" Uhhh....exactly had been said. Two dogs sick. After the first one we were told to call back if the other one caught it. Then she went into....you only have one dog on your account!! Just rude. One dog on my account and the other on my son's. It was a painful conversation and I was disappointed after the great care we received just a few days before. I only got past her when i started asking to talk to the vet tech. She said no and that i couldn't talk to her and their soonest appointment was almost two weeks out. I said again....we were told to call so who can we talk to? MCK VCA provided other contacts for getting an urgent appointment. This front desk was just cutting us off with no options. For whatever reason, she finally said she would leave a message with the vet there that day and we picked up meds later that day. We plan to stay with them. They took care of us. I used to take my cat to a wonderful vet here a decade ago, so when we moved nearby again a couple of years ago I thought I'd take him to Delta Oaks again. Found out my old vet had retired when I actually got to the clinic, they didn't even bother to mention this on the phone. My cat and I saw a vet w/ an Aussie accent--appears was Dr. Tim according to their website--who took about five minutes with us, seemed to barely look at my cat, and said very little (my cat is quite healthy, but he was over 10 years old and in for an annual check-up). I was already feeling frustrated with the minimal exam, and when I asked the vet (who had concluded the exam and started to walk away down the hall) about how my cat's teeth looked, he was borderline rude, curtly stating "I already said his teeth look fine." Terrible customer service, and gave the impression it was an inconvenience to do his job. Would NEVER go here again, worst experience I've had at any vet, and I've been to several over the years due to relocating multiple times. read more

Dr. Bryan, Dr. Robinson, Dr. Tim and staff are amazing! I called with an emergency for one of my cats that was not yet an established patient. They told me to bring my cat Oliver down immediately. When I walked in the door they were waiting for me and took him back and started working on him right away. Dr. Bryan spent a lot of time with me to educate me and answer all of my question. They are also very transparent about costs and understand that unfortunately that can sometimes be a factor. I had taken my dog to this clinic for 11 years because the quality of care was excellent and affordable. But after it was taken over by VCA in 2018, the quality of care declined and the prices skyrocketed. In 2019, after I was severely injured in a car crash, my 13 year-old dog became very sick for several days. A friend drive us to the vet because I was on pain medication and could not drive. When I saw the vet, I was wearing a spinal brace and a post-surgical boot, and he inquired about my injuries. He then recommended what he called a 'Best-Care package' of treatments, which took less than an hour and did absolutely nothing to help my dog, who the vet diagnosed as having an 'upset stomach.' However, my dog stayed sick for two more weeks. For this worthless treatment I was charged $750. When I objected to the exorbitant cost (since it did nothing to help my dog) I was told that it was justified since I had been very concerned about my dog's health. When I contacted the VCA regional manager, I was told to bring my dog in for another visit, which would cost me another $60. I declined. Since then, this exorbitant cost for worthless treatment has caused me serious financial difficulty, and I have been unable to afford to take my elderly dog to another vet. I have since learned that this unethical practice is being increasingly used by some veterinary clinics to boost profits. I have been advised by a lawyer that since the vet was well-aware I was on pain medication, this constitutes fraud, and that I can pursue matter this in court. read more

Last week we had to euthanize our old, sweet cat Neko at VCA Animal Hospital Delta Oaks. Dr. Arthur provided caring, compassionate service, allowing us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. I've never had so much time spent on routine appointments, with so much care explaining everything we need to know about this special breed. Terrible company. This is a true story. I was late for my appointment by a max of 17 minutes and they refused to help my dog who was suffering from a life threatening infection. They continued to ignore my dissatisfaction and commented on my attitude instead. The worst part was, the manager said the vet was onto the next patient but the vet was standing right next to me while I spoke my mind to the manager. It's like, really guys? Really?? My 13 year old cat, Blizzy, had a neurological episode of some sort. He couldn't use his front leg and he stopped eating and drinking over the weekend. That had just happened with my daughter's pug and it continued to get worse even under doctor's care. Based on that, I made the heartbreaking decision to bring him in to be euthanized. Dr. Tim examined him. Dr. Tim said, "he is overall so healthy he deserves another chance." I was floored because I was preparing myself for a different outcome. Dr. Tim gave Blizzy an infusion because he was dehydrated and the staff recommended a can of their pate to get him eating again. Blizzy began to improve! It is one month later and Blizzy has made a full recovery! He can even use his leg again and can jump up and down from things. If it wasn't for the expertise and experience of Dr. Tim this miracle wouldn't have happened. I highly recommend VCA Delta Oaks. read more

They are a very busy office and yet when it's my turn, they take the time to explain everything. I never feel rushed, despite their packed schedule! I've been coming here to the Delta Oaks VCA for almost 10 years and will continue to recommend it! When we took in our scared new rescue dog, the staff said it might be helpful if the small dog was held by someone else for the examine because she was being over-protective with me. They were COMPLETELY correct. I stood across the room while they examined her and she was very calm. These guys (and gals) are fantastic. My fur child has had a few problems here and there from being a rambunctious beast, the guys (and gals) here, both vets and techs have never skipped a beat. On more than one occasion I have called and seen a DR. in a matter of an hour or two. I do not feel as though they have ever skipped a treatment, nor have I ever felt like they rushed an examination even if it is an unplanned visit. For better or worse, they know the name of my dog, and genuinely care for his well being. On more than one occasion, they asked me about the progression of a wound or healing process when they saw me for one reason or another a month or more after the fact (meaning they saw me and cared enough to take time to converse about pups health wellness after the fact). Let's move on to their front desk staff. They have always treated me with respect and appropriate concern. They are knowledgeable on their own and can help ease or validate concerns you may have before you even get to the vet. They work quickly with accuracy from what I have seen, helping you get in and get out with your sick or hurt pup. They have dealt with my insurance paperwork with ease and have even handled the insurance company's request for additional information without a second thought. They even went through the trouble of copying the insurance forms on their own in case I didn't have the time or ability to have one prepared before our visit. It feels so good to know that they go into that amount of detail and thought about that. Thanks to Delta Oaks Vets my pup is doing much better and is a healthy trouble maker. Their pricing is appropriate and I have not felt that they have tried to push me on unnecessary tests or fees. In fact on one or two occasions, they did not even charge me for the visit, just meds. Long story short, I can sleep well knowing that my fur child is in good hands should anything happen. read more

Brought my 3 1/2 yr old female pointer (Oreo) in 2 weeks weeks ago to get her teeth cleaned, Staff very courteous and setting very clean but maybe the exam room could use a little air. too stuffy for me but got a thorough 1st exam and it was free! Received a quote, very competitive (considerably less than a Junction City vet) , and scheduled her the next week. Dr. Lahm was her attending veterinarian. Dropped her off at 815am and was assured that she would be well taken care of (well duh!) Was scheduled to pick her up at 230pm that same day. Needed extra time to finish with plumber (no prob) and got her at 330pm. BTW no extra charge for hospital stay like the other place. Dr, Lahm, Very personable, came out and gave me a very thorough update on Oreo RE the cleaning and guess what? He handed me a final bill less that the quote! Oreo had been walked several times by very nice attentive staff to get her bearings and was obviously groggy and quiet (finally). Go there and ask for Dr. Lahm..tell em Oreo sent you!! read more
