Ellen was amazing did a fantastic job grooming our dog. Our dog is small and when she put a leash on her neck she freaked out but Ellen was able to calm her down. When we got there our dog was happy wagging its tail and showed no sign of fear. Our dog was a rescue dog so we didn't know how she would react to grooming. I would give 0 stars if possible. I booked an appointment for 2 dogs to get a nail trim. I was running a few minutes late so I called to tell them. They told me it was fine. I checked in 3 minutes late. I proceeded to wait for my turn. Then another employee came and told me she was canceling my appointment because a "VIP" came in and they were taking them instead. When I questioned it she said I was late for my appointment so she was canceling. I mentioned that it was only 3 minutes and another employee told me it was fine. She again said she was taking the VIP. No offer to rebook. Nearly every time I've taken my dogs here I have to wait some time after my appointment. I never mind nor complain because I know places get busy or things take a bit. I'm frustrated that this is how they treat people. The store has continued to decline in service over the last year or so. I guess the competition from Pertsmart and SAMS pet store is too much for Petco or they just don't value basic service. While I have consistently come to this store first for pet supplies and nail trims, I won't be back. It's unfortunate that one employee can negatively impact an entire store and company. read more

I am highly disappointed in my trip today at my local Petco I've always come in and have been nicely greeted and have been treated wonderful today I came in with a facemask/ bandana on my face because I have a cold sore that I am shy of .one of the workers(Caucasian female early 30s mid 20s brown hair pulled in a ponytail glasses) proceeded to follow me to the dog food as I grabbed a bag of dog food the cooler ran to the exit locking the doors turning off the motion sensor as though I was going to leave without paying. I proceeded to the counter where I needed to be checked out and she was pretending as though she was looking out the window to the parking lot probably scoping for my vehicle to get my license plate but she didn't need to I gladly paid for my dog of food for my two pups as I always do she continue till I got my receipt and she had to manually push open the doors after shutting me in to let me out. As I proceeded to my car to let my wife know the situation here comes the same clerk peeking around the corner deciding to grab a shopping cart staring us down and then walking in side Petco all the while not taking her eyes off of us. I tried to call into Petco immediately to notify the management I am highly disappointed highly disgusted and I have been profiled. Something needs to be done about this because I am not letting it go we are in 2025 it was okay to wear it during covid why can't I wear my bandana covering my face I shouldn't be profiled as some thief. Today I took my Labradoodle in for a bath and groom ant the Everett Petco for the first time. Ellen was amazing and she did a fantastic job on him. She asked lots of questions and was very gentle and sweet to him. His cut was great, he smelled so good. I will definitely be coming back for his 8 week maintenance. I took my terrier poodle to Petco for a full groom, dropping her off at 10:45 AM. She has been groomed here twice before without any issues. At 2 PM--over three hours later--I received a call from Krista, who said she couldn't complete the grooming because my dog was "coming at her." My dog is not a large or aggressive breed, and in her nine years, she has never bitten or shown aggression. Even if she was nervous, that's why groomers are allowed to use muzzles. When I pointed out that my dog has never been aggressive, Krista backtracked, saying she just didn't want to hurt her. Fair enough--but why was my dog sitting in a kennel for over three hours without any grooming? Petco states that grooming takes 2-3 hours, so why was she kept there doing nothing? It honestly seems like they were overbooked and didn't want to take the time to groom her, which is absolutely disgusting. If you work with pets, show some compassion rather than making it ONLY about money! When I picked her up, I was not asked to pay for the bath they had given her, nor was I charged. I was told to bring her back another time, but I declined and made it clear I wouldn't be returning. However, things got even worse. After I left, my mom went inside to buy fish and overheard Krista talking to the cashier and another staff member (possibly a manager). The kind cashier mentioned that I had asked for the manager's number, to which Krista responded, "After she didn't pay for the bath?" This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I was never asked to pay, and the cashier later confirmed that since the full service wasn't completed, I wasn't required to. My sister later called and spoke with the manager, who asked what kind of resolution we wanted. Honestly, what resolution could fix this? Hopefully, this doesn't happen to anyone else, and Petco hires professional, well-mannered staff who treat customers and their pets with respect. read more

They refused to cut my dog's nails because I mentioned that my dog had cancer. I was told that their "policies dictate that they can't trim the nails or offer any grooming service to any sick or elderly pets." So don't make the mistake I made and tell them ANYTHING negative about your animal's health because they will refuse to even do basic 10 minute grooming services on your pet and your beloved pet will become blacklisted from being able to receive even basic services. Oh and make sure your dog/cat is not too old. Apparently elderly animals don't deserve a nail trim either. OUTRAGEOUS! read more

Dropped my dog off for grooming at 9:15 a.m.  there was only 1 other dog being groomed at that time and 3 employees standing around.  Picked him up at 2:45 p.m and was greeted by a female at the grooming register and a young man standing behind her (telling her to go ahead, like he was encouraging her to say something.) She then went into this rant about how disruptive my dog was and that in the future I will be charged "a lot more.". I was caught off guard and had to stop her and ask what she was talking about.  She said that my dog barked "too much" when he was in the kennel and in the future they will charge me "a whole lot more" to groom him and get him out the door cause he's "a disruption to all the other dogs.   I was totally taken back and caught off guard by this.  I've had all my dogs groomed through Lynnwood Petco over last 15 years.  Used the Everett location because it was not fully booked.  I'll never return to the Everett location again.  I understand why the grooming place was empty, mid day, horrible customer service!!!  Damn!!! If Lynnwood stores not available I will use our boarding location from now on  They provide awesome service and appreciate their customers and their pets.   Figured I let you know,.  Might want to just close the Everett Mall Way location.  Don't see other customers there and NO one would return based on the service provided! read more

WTF ! The manager called us after having our pug in for a nail trim and shampoo and told us our dog is banned from petco. Said our dog has to much anxiety that she thought he may injure himself. Therefore recommended in their account that he was not welcome at any Petco. Well, he has been going to different Petco for over 9 years. Please do not take your animal to this horrible run facility. If your salt water fish enthusiast I would highly suggest not going here because the employees don't know what the hell they're doing, I was out of town and my girlfriend bought a dog face puffer fish from one of the associates there and it had white spot disease otherwise known as ICK and it killed everything off in the fish tank by the time I got home it was too late to save anyone even before one round of medication and the next day everything in the tank was dead or suffering horribly!,..so don't trust these people and don't buy their fish because their whole system needs to be cleaned out now because it's all used and ran by the one filter so the whole tank system at that store is compromised. We were very pleased and appreciative of the help we received from STEVE. He was the most knowledgeable sales associate I have ever met in a pet store. We recently bought two Kuhli loach from PetSmart. One which barely made it alive out of the store. We quickly returned him and sadly, those were the last two they had. Following day, we went to this petco instead. Steve knew everything and anything we needed to know about all the fish they had. You could tell how passionate he was about the animals and clearly loved his job. The gals we have encountered at PetSmart over the last few weeks were the complete opposite and I will never go back there for fish again. They had no real advice on caring for the fish. What's the point of the groomers if they won't groom your dog?! What am I paying for. I dropped my Goldendoodle off and before I could even leave the store, the manager had called me with some pink hair girl and began dog shamming me telling me I need to take my dog to the vet and that his legs are unstable. You think I haven't already done that?! I've NEVER had complaints about my dogs. but first they tell me one of my dogs is to old and then that the other one can't stand. IF YOU CANT CUT MY DOG HAIR AND NAILS THEN TELL ME YOU LITERALLY CANNOT CUT MY DOGS HAIR AND NAILS!!!! Do not dog shame people because you can't do your job. I would not typically leave a review for a chain retail establishment, and in fact I typically try to avoid shopping at them, but I felt the need to leave a 5 star review because of one of the associates at this store named Steve. Since we adopted our German Shepherd, we have been trying to understand his food allergies and skin condition and how they are related. We have swapped vets because we weren't satisfied with the attention they gave to our dog's problems, and even our new vets have left us disappointed and frustrated with how to improve our dog's health. Steve knew exactly what was going on with our dog and spent close to half an hour talking to us and helping us find a good brand of food for him. He is clearly an expert in animal nutrition, as well as being a friendly and helpful professional. We will start buying our dog food from this Petco from now on, just so we can get a chance to talk with Steve about our dog. He deserves a promotion! I've never been so impressed by a store employee. I had my 3 dogs there for grooming within the past two days. 2 little guys and my Rat Terrier Angel. Angel is a handful and it is impossible for me to trim her nails or clean her ears. Which is why I took her to the professionals. Mandy H. took care of Tiny and Angel and did a great job. To my surprise she was able to handle my nervous and stubborn girl with no problems. Jordan took care of my Wicket with a bath , nail trim and a bit of a haircut. Wicket looks amazing and was super happy when we picked them up. I will definitely bring my fur kids back to Mandy and Jordan. You can actually pick the groomer and they have a rewards program as well. I ordered tons of Nature's Miracle online and used their curbside pickup. Just as listed/instructed on their website, once I rolled into the parking lot, I called and dialed Option 4. The associate who answered took my name and asked me to describe my car. In a few minutes she came out--with a mask on, which is sadly an anomaly in Everett or so it seems--took a quick glance at my email/driver's license, then handed over the goods. The whole process was streamlined and I really and truly appreciated that the associate was wearing a mask. Thanks, Petco, for keeping your employees and customers safe... and for helping me get the wet dog stench out of my new apartment. 5+ stars for Petco; 0 stars for the nasty former tenant of my apartment. read more

Extremely disappointed with the way the groomer cut my dog's nails. I always ask for a nail cut + buffing so that after her nails are cut, her nails would be smoothed out. I paid that extra $5 to get it buffed out but her nails are split and does not meet my expectations for how a nail buffing should look like. I always get this service done at other petco locations and i never have this problem. On top of that, I've been a loyal petco customer for years but this is the first time I've been to the everett location. I always pay the same $43 for my other dog to get a groom but was unaware that I would be charged another $7 to get a "shave". My dog does not need a shave down, and I wasn't explained about this fee. Ended up leaving Petco with a higher bill than usual but the results I expected was not met. I don't think i would want to return to this specific location again. read more

Petco - Poor buffing job - Pet Stores Near Me - Everett, Washington

I usually only shop here for training treats when I've run out as they haven't carried either brand of food my dog eats. They do carry a fairly large selection in store, but if your pet has special dietary restrictions it may be difficult to find more than a few options. Oddly the treat selection seems more accommodating of this and there are multiple isles of dog treats, chews, and other snacks to choose from. It's also nice to shop for clothes or gear in person, especially with your dog accompanying you, to ensure a proper fit. However, the return policy has been very good for this in case you've bought something only to find out it won't work for you when you get home. Overall the quality of a lot of the products leaves a lot to be desired and I don't personally think the prices are reasonable for what you get. Especially not for the dog bed I bought, washed, and had fall apart all within 24 hours of my buying it. At least there is a decent selection of Kong and other tough toys that are built to last a little longer. Everyone who's assisted me while I shop has been helpful but during my last visit I overheated a couple of employees discussing the recent turnover there, so it remains to be seen how the customer service there will be affected. Unfortunately it took weeks and being in contact with a social media contact to have my loyalty account information actually make it into their system and every cashier I encountered during that time seemed to indicate that this was a typical issue. It would have been nice to have gotten credit for all of those new puppy purchases. read more

The only thing I purchased here so far was the Petco branded bully sticks pack which are low quality. Took our rescue 11-year-old Chihuahua Sassy to get her nails trimmed and anal glands squeezed. Jessica S. did a FANTASTIC job! Sassy is not comfortable around everyone but she LOVES spending time with Jessica. She takes care of any animal she grooms and treats them as her own. All the ladies working in the grooming area were very friendly and helpful. Emily helped us at first with finding Sassy in the system and Jessica took over to groom. She quoted a time of 30 minutes, which was right on the mark. We will continue to go wherever Jessica is. read more

I took my puppy here today. He was getting his 2nd nail clipping and 1st grooming. His first nail clipping was done at the vet and we usually bathe him at home. Upon checking out his paws, one of his nails is completely split in half and when I tried to look at it and possibly remove the hanging portion he cried. All I can do is wait for it to grow out but I can imagine it was probably very painful to be cut that way. I'm very disappointed that this is my puppy's first real grooming experience. The other clipping was done at the vet and there were no issues. My husband came home after picking him up and let me know that he had peed several times and thrown up. He is a puppy, so I expected some uneasy feelings but I was surprised that he threw up because he's never done that before. He goes to puppy classes weekly and is around new people all the time. He's fully vaccinated and has a schedule for feedings and eats the same diet everyday. So to say he ate something that made him uneasy or he's sick, I don't think is accurate. I'm not taking my dog back here. He's only 4 months old. I had a dog prior to this for 18 years and I never saw her with a nail split like this. read more

They called me on Friday at 4 right before my Saturday 1:30pm appt to cancel because my dog was 11 and they had never seen him. They hadn't seen him because I just moved up here and was taking him to a petco in Kirkland. After much discussion and a promise of the grooming manager calling me the following morning, which didn't happen, I cancelled the appt. We took our Shorkiepoo to the Everett Mall Way Petco for grooming (flea bath, hair cut, etc). We were very happy! Our groomer (Emily) seemed genuinely interested in - and affectionate towards - our dog. The results were great! The pup had a very even cut and wonderful, soft hair after her grooming. Our dog's hair tends to mat if we don't stay on top of it - and it always seems that she may have a few mats whenever we take her in for a haircut. Other groomers we've used in the past take the easy out and just shave her. Yuk. Emily looked at the 3-4 mats and felt she could get them out. And she did! This was our first time at Petco Everett and we will be back for sure!! Everyone in the store was friendly and seemed to be enjoying their jobs. The location is good (easy in and out). Also: happy pet-owners make happy customers. On the way out of the grooming section, we stopped and bought several items (totally impulse buying). LOL. read more

I am beyond extremely disappointed with the dog training I am receiving at this Petco. I signed up for six private classes, at the not-so-cheap price of $300 for six classes. Because of COVID, there were no group classes, but I was told the private classes would address specific issues I have with my dog. Not so. Every class I would go and say "what I'd like to address today is her jumping on people," or something pretty basic like that, but the trainer would say "how about today we practice walking on a leash." I don't need to practice walking on a leash, or having her hop onto her bed, she does this quite well. Additionally, the trainer was occasionally late to classes--helping a customer, when I was in the training area. I had to wave at her once, after ten minutes, saying "I'm here, I'm waiting," and she said "Oh I didn't see you sneak in." So what? What if I had gone 30 minutes early, to look at fish, should the trainer still not go to the training space at our appointed time? Another time, she said "how about, in the last few minutes, we practice loose leash walking?" (again, even though I told her I had NO NEED to practice leash walking with my dog), and I said "we have all of 25 minutes left, not a few, and I don't need leash practice." Then she said I looked tired, and I said not tired, FRUSTRATED. Seriously, a total waste of time and money. read more

As with most big pet stores, you're going to see animals from rodent mills. This is a horrible shame, something I would one day like to see done away with, but it is very hard to avoid. It is, however, easy to avoid unsanitary living conditions, overcrowding in cages, and animals in the wrong cages once the rodent mill animals are AT the actual pet store. Several years back I remember pointing out to the employees that a female rat was in the male tank. Fantastic, great competence we have there. Poor girl looked frightened and miserable. Their mice are packed in like sardines. And, the most recent crime that made me quit the store altogether happened some time last year... Their thanks may have stickers on them, asking that reptile owners purchase frozen mice and rats, but the employees do not seem to care. I saw a man approach the tank, ask for a "large rat", no preference on which one, and then ask where the crickets were as soon as the animal was boxed up. That's another thing... There is no such thing as "small, medium, and large" to actual pet owners. Petco has the nerve to separate rats by age into different tanks. Selling "large" and "medium" rats separately for different prices is indicative that these animals are not intended as pets, but as feeders. Petco, all petcos, specifically sell feeders regardless of the labels they put on the tanks. Disgusting. It not only shows a complete disregard for life from the employees, but also from the shoppers. Feeding a snake a live rat is cruel to the rat, and dangerous for the snake. A live rat can and will hurt a snake. A "large" rat, like the adult males they sell, will put up a fight before dying. But Petco seems to encourage live food. When I confronted their manager about selling feeders, they weren't the least bit concerned. For the sake of animal welfare, take your shopping somewhere else. At least PetSmart requires buyers to fill out forms before they are allowed to purchase pets. read more

We took in our 9-month old puppy, Nimitz (Pomeranian) for his very first grooming. Only trimmed up his nails, fur between his toes (due to his long fur, it grows longer than his pads so he doesn't find a good grip unless it's trimmed), glands, light trimming around the ears and ear cleaning. We only did minor stuff since it was his first professional grooming and want Nimitz to get used to it long before summer hits and he'll want a shorter coat to stay cool. We called ahead and asked how it worked. Not only were they friendly, informative and helpful they had an opening same-day! Took less than an hour, and they were very soothing and understanding with him. When we picked him up, he was washed, coat was conditioned, all other services taken care of, and had a cute blue ribbon bow on his collar! Best of all, it only ended up being $30+tip! Well worth it since my husband and I haven't owned pets in several years and are still getting used to the minor maintenance of dog bath, nail trimming and teeth cleaning. This is our go-to pet store for our cat's food and as well her grooming. Our kitty, Keaira, needs her nails trimmed about once a month - otherwise she shreds our skin when she lovingly kneads her paws :). The grooming staff here is fantastic - I always call ahead to make sure the cat groomer is available - it seems she's never in the store on Saturdays. I've often taken Keaira and the cat groomer is busy with another pet, but she'll stop what she's doing to quickly trim her nails. At $10, it's a real bargain - especially compared to what the vet's office charges ($20) and it's further from our home! Customer service here has always been fantastic here, which is why I keep going back! read more
