As anyone who's been to a Mud Bay store knows, everything about the store is fantastic. I've been to at least a dozen different Mud Bay stores and they always impress. Store designs and displays are attractive and uniquely Mud Bay, product offerings are vast and updated, and there's a premium vibe to the experience without a premium price. For those unaware, Mud Bay price matches, and for those on a budget (and who's not in 2026), know that MB carries foods that are extremely affordable in addition to hyper-premium foods. Rest assured, regardless of the price of the food, if MB carries it, it's vetted and high quality. My personal favorite thing about Mud Bay, and why I'm leaving this review, is the people. This was my first visit to this Mill Creek store. I'm dog sitting and needed some treats, so of course I pulled up 5 mins before they closed. That wasn't a problem. The two gals working, Amalia and Laura, were beyond incredible. Both women knew a ton about the products I asked about and got me taken care of at my speed. More importantly, they both seemed to truly love their jobs, pets, and people. If I lived in Mill Creek, this would be the only pet store I'd shop. Once again, well done Mud Bay! read more

Phenomenal staff. Vet's orders meant our cat was switching to wet food with specific macros. I came in hoping to stumble my way through some ingredient lists and Google searches, but Laura dropped everything to make sure I was all set. She pulled up their search system that has more food info than is able to fit on the can, then set me up with three varieties that met the vet's criteria on a food trial. It's a good thing we did because our cat turned her nose up at what was described as the most popular food. Turns out she's a pate princess. Came back to get multiple cans in different flavors. I wish I could call out more of the staff by name in this review, but each team member has always been welcoming, friendly, and helpful whenever we visit. I love Mud Bay and I'm so thankful for their help last week my puppy started eating less and less of the kibble he'd eaten since he was weaned and eventually started refusing meals after some initial success with wetting his food down. I'd started trying to transition him to something else but that wasn't going well either. Someone there with a similar breed was able to help direct me at some options and also send me home with some samples for him to try. He chose a local mid-range freeze dried raw and has finished every single bowl since!!! I'm so happy to see him happy to eat again. The food selection is really excellent and I feel like I am more likely to make healthy choices for my puppy there. Not to mention everyone is so nice and helpful when I have questions. The prices on food and chews are better than expected and that has let us experiment with what works for us. I also really like the gear they have there, it feels sturdier than options from chain stores and we've found some really cool toys as well. read more

Love this store for many reasons... 1. They have a variety of toys and chews for large dogs! I have GSD and it's hard to find items appropriate for his size. 2. Great customer service! They helped us find a crate we wanted and gave us a coupon when they heard we were buying it for our new puppy! Also if there's anything you notice about your pet and want some free advice, this would be a good place to go! Our Yorkie was always scratching his ears and it started to smell and come out dirty when I cleaned his ears, and when I brought it up to someone at Mud Bay she a change in what we feed him. I didn't think that could be it since he'd been eating it for months and only started scratching recently. After a few weeks we noticed his ears were clean and he stopped scratching! (We switched from Royal Canin to First Mate). Also their new variety pack of bully sticks, trachea, tendon, and even chicken feet has been the newest favorite for our dogs! The people here are extremely helpful and friendly. My dog was having issues eating and they gave advice and treats to help him eat more. They have multiple fun events with picture opportunities and treats. They have something for cats, dogs, and your little furry, scaly, or feathery babies. Mudbay is fantastic. I have a little weenie and she is quite the picky eater. I am currently trying to get her on an all new diet regimen and Fay has been more then helpful. She went the extra mile to stock me up with food samples just to make sure my little one is happy with it before I invest in a larger bag. If I could give this store 10 stars I would; the store itself is incredibly well designed, roomy, and it's easy to find exactly what you need; there's also plenty of space between the cat and dog areas, so if you've got one but not the other, it minimizes any drama! The people here are also incredibly helpful, nice, AND very knowledgable. They take the time to listen to your needs and find the best product for your pet AND your budget - which is not always the case with smaller locally-owned stores. The woman who helped us find food for our cat who's transitioning to our new home not only helped us find a good dry food that wasn't too expensive, she also gave us some free samples of some wet foods so we can transition Mittens to a higher quality food and find out what she prefers. Even if prices were a bit higher, I'd still shop here - the icing on the cake, however, is that the prices are just as good as the disgusting big-box pet shops - and in most cases, the same as the giant online behemoth. Mud Bay is my go-to spot for anything that has to do with my fur babies! I have two long haired mini dachshunds and boy do these guys get picky. Between their picky eating habits and me being picky about the quality of their food, I didn't think we'd ever come to a mutual agreement but we have thanks to Mud Bays quality selections! Whether I'm looking for food, treats, toys, or grooming supplies, I always feel confident that mud bay has what I need. And their staff is awesome. Always quick to help and make educated suggestions. It may be pricier than Petsmart and petco but the value in your purchases here aren't even compare able. read more

The only thing I regret about this place is that I didn't find it sooner. I'm bummed that I live less than half a mile away and yet I never realized this was a pet store. When I walked in, I was impressed by how big the store was. Lots of selections (toys, treats, food, bones, you name it!). Everything was decently priced. But, I would still prefer purchasing toys through Amazon since those are always on sale. Can't argue about the $3.50/lb of treats though, which I believe are organically made. I got a big bagful of their treats and my GSD loves them. I was most impressed by the customer service from each staff. Friendly, interactive, knowledgable, and ready to spoil my pup with treats. One of them even watched my puppy for me while I finished up shopping (although, I was told I might not get my puppy back!) Best pets store ever. Who hired you guys? You guys are awesome! I love this Mud Bay location! I have come here for all of my pet's needs, from rats & rabbits to dogs & cats since they opened in 2011. Sometimes they get in these really pretty driftwood cat trees & they're priced extremely well. My kitty Bunker loves hers! As far as food goes, everything is reasonably priced despite the impression that a boutique/all-natural kind of store seems like it should be expensive. The staff always know what they're talking about too when it comes to specific dietary needs of my pets. And most importantly, no food or treats from China!!! read more

What a great store! I inevitably end up realizing we're running low on dog food at weird times, but Mud Bay has convenient hours and a great location, so I can swing by whenever. The staff is very helpful and they have a great policy around trying out new food, so there's no risk at all. This is my favorite pet store! They have the best pet food I have found locally, which is a huge plus because I care about supporting local businesses. The employees are always very helpful and friendly. It is such a great atmosphere and I am happy to spend a few extra bucks (compared to buying junk pet food at other places) to take good care of my animals. My husband and I recently adopted a cat from the Seattle Humane Society and included in our "welcome packet" were some coupons for food/litter at Mud Bay. We went into the shop the day after bringing our cat home, virtually clueless on what we should buy for her as we didn't know what she'd like. Cassondra (I'm pretty sure that's her name!) was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly. She not only took the time to explain many different types of foods they offered but also threw in a ton of free samples for us to bring home and try out before committing to buying. I'm so happy this place exists! First purchase, a little one at that. After well over a year of searching for my cat's favorite toy (in the whole wide world ) I saw someone post a picture of it and I asked where they got it. Mud Bay is literally the only pet store online or in person that had it! I wanted to see if my cat still loved it (it's destroyed from his rough housing) so I ordered just that online. I'm so grateful that with such a highly contagious Omicron in place, they offer online purchasing with curbside pickup so I didn't think twice about buying. It was the easiest experience and when I got there, the employee cheerfully brought it to my car. She even included a few treats, which goes over really well with my cat--one of them being a tube treat that I have been curious to see if my cat would like it. It's been hard getting him to eat wet food so I have been wondering about these, but didn't want to buy a whole bag/box. She couldn't have read my mind better. This store seems to be the perfect fit for our cat and family! What a wonderful experience! And if my cat ends up loving these treats, I will purchase them from Mud Bay only! I will definitely be back for more of this mouse toy since we don't want to be without it. He can't get enough of it and this one little toy keeps him the most active of any of his toys. read more

This store is where to go in the mill creek area for dog accessories and food. I went in recently to get some wet food, our dog is considerably ill. Jane took me on a whirlwind tour and offered free samples of multiple wet foods. Not just cheap examples either. I really feel like all the employees here are dedicated to quality service. Also the pet toys last way longer than the toys at larger stores. Im not easily impressed, needless to say i was floored from the service i have received on multiple occasions from multiple employees. The extra expense here is surely worth it imo. read more

I contacted Mud Bay because I have shopped here for years and they have been very helpful when choosing food. I contacted them today to help me choose some different wet cat foods with grain. It's tough to find any online and my vet recommended I do not feed grain free as 3 out of 4 of my indoor cats are now very overweight from feeding only grain free food. I was on the phone over 20 minutes being lectured on how very sorry he was that my vet misinformed me, and that cats absolutely do not eat grain of any kind in the wild. He also let me know that it's "calories in and calories out", that matters. I let him know that I take all my cats to a local Mill Creek vet, and that they actually go to school and study for a long time in order to give me sound medical advice for my animals. Furthermore, I have been feeding grain free to 4 indoor only cats for over 4 years now, and 3 of the 4 are almost diabetic they are so overweight. They all get 1 small can of grain free in the morning, and 1 small can at night. Why would someone argue with you when you just called to have them help you choose some wet food with grain in it?? I was going to order from them online, for 4 cats for the next month...that's a ton of money! I specifically asked for some good recommendations for wet cat food that contains grain. Period. I did not need a lecture, I did not need to be told he "feels sorry for me because my vet gave me misinformation". This information has come from more than one vet. I take all 4 of my cats to the Pet Hospital and Wellness Center in Mill Creek, and they are amazing BTW! I have taken them to Pilchuck and VCA in Lynnwood, all of them have said the same thing. Cats can have grain, it doesn't hurt them, and they do get it in their diet in the "wild", in fact, more often than not if they suffer from a food allergy it's to a protein in the food, and not the grain. You are not a vet, just help people pick out food when you are asked! There was no need to argue with me, and then say you only recommend grain free with organ meat and bone!!!! Help the customer find what they are asking of you, nothing more, nothing less. NEVER going here again, and not recommending any of my animal loving friends go here either. I called at around 8:45am on Friday 2/26/21, in case someone there wants to reference who was working at that time and arguing with your customer so much she finally hung up the phone so I could call someone else and reference some new food for my cats. read more

I very much like shopping at MudBay in Mill Creek. I have cats and find that they have a good selection of quality cat food at competitive prices. They also carry my favorite litter, healthy cat treats and accessories such as toys, litter boxes, food bowls, etc. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. One day shopping, as it was pouring rain with a cart full of cat food and a heavy bag of litter, the young lady at the cash register offered to escort me out to my car to help me load and return the cart to the store. Great customer service and help. Have a cat peeing everywhere, the store attendant answered our questions, helped us find the right enzymes to clean with to keep her from doing it again. And helped us find food that would mix with her prescription diet to help it be more appealing to her. Also they had handouts with different solutions for her behavior. Another store attendant helped us with our dog finding rawhide and treats that would help with his teeth. Great store with great attendants that want to help and have you leave happy. read more
