I have a hard time trusting my groomer, when Shelby came to Four Leggers I felt that I met my new family. My Amarone is 14 1/2 and I don't trust him with anyone. When I moved back to the North Shore I had the hardest time bring him to the only groomer he's know since a lil pup. It was so difficult bring him. I didn't have the advantage of drop/pick-up/home like I did. After several years I found Shelby. When I found Shelby, I found Jenn. It's like a family. I cant recommend Four Leggers. I was unhappy with the groom; It was VERY expensive too. The owner was condescending when I tried to explain why I was unhappy. There was zero effort in trying to rectify the situation. My puppy chewed through his expensive harness at puppy training school for the second time. I was told it didn't happen at school. It 100% did happen at school. I would've taken full responsibility if it happened on my watch. I didn't appreciate their dishonesty. My puppy has NEVER chewed through his harness since being home with me. The customer service is AWFUL at Four leggers. I recommend going to DOGSPA in Beverly for grooming and Wags in Wenham for training. When a business doesn't try to rectify the situation or take responsibility. That is red flag for me. read more

We brought our puppy here for training instead of giving any training the person tried to sell us overpriced stuff and ignored where I brought up different concerns and didn't want to see how we interacted with our dog. I asked to speak to the owner and was told it would take an hour and they only reduced $15 and we still had to pay $115 to get told to buy our dog more stuff and not listen to our concerns very disappointed I would not recommend bringing your dog here for training at all. read more

Two years and a third dog later, and we couldn't be happier with Jenn and her team at Four Leggers. They have literally become part of our family, part of how I run my household, and my (now 3) babies' loving "home away from home"! My dog Mica aka Mooka loves this daycare! She has so many friends she has a few bfs too. The staff and owner are very intelligent and are great dog handlers. The price is affordable and there are many packages available to work with your budget. Best part is they offer pick up and drop off for a small fee. They also offer hikes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I know that my dog is getting the exercise that is needed and the attention she deserves. It's a one stop place for the dog world, baths and nail trims are also available and some dog treats and toys. The indoor area is large and the back yard is like a playground for dogs. Would give 0 stars if possible. Worst grooming experience. I've never in my life been compelled to leave a review, positive or negative, until now. They didn't listen to a single thing I asked for, I came to pick my dog up and he was shaved down entirely head to toe. No excuse for ignoring a customers request. I understand grooming isn't an easy job, but this is like going to the salon asking for a trim and they give you a buzzcut. It's not acceptable. Not to mention this is BY FAR the most expensive groom I've ever paid for. Incredibly disappointed. Be warned- DO NOT take your dog there for a groom. Short version: Four Leggers is the simply best place around for dogs. If you try them, you will never want to go anywhere else. Long version: Training - Jen and her staff are amazing. They teach via positive reinforcement, which has worked wonders for my little rescue, Hazel. She is adjusting very well, and it is entirely thanks to Four Leggers. I am a very nervous dog mom, and Jen and her other trainers, Scott and Isabella are calm, talented and helpful in every way. When I got Hazel she could hardly sit on command and was not housebroken, and in just 8 weeks of working with Four Leggers, she sits, stays, comes, heels (mostly), spins, touches, goes to her crate, goes to her mat, gives a paw, and is (mostly) housebroken. I am kinda a mess of a dog trainer, so this is 100% thanks to Four Leggers training me on how to train her. We would not be where we are now without them. Daycare - Hazel LOVES her daycare days at Four Leggers. She comes back exhausted (and even smelling nice, how do they do that??) She went from hating the car when we first got her to now loving the car and I think it's because she now associates car trips with her play days at Four Leggers. Kindness - Yesterday it snowed and I forgot to bring Hazel's coat, and when she was being brought back from the play area, a young man on the staff carried her, tucked into his own coat to keep her warm on the walk to the shop. It was the kindest act and it reminded me how wonderful the group who work at Four Leggers are, and how they truly care about the dogs like they are their own. If you have to leave your dog somewhere for the day, and you want to feel like they are safer and happier than they would be at home, this is the place. read more

The truth is my dog kody isn't an easy boy. He's reactive, and has a scary bark. We started at four leggers with the reactive rover class and Jen and Rasheed were amazing. We than decided to try grooming with Gina and a few hiccups because kody didn't feel comfortable but it's been amazing. Tiffany at the front knows me as Kodys mom! She knows how he is and always makes me feel comfortable even when kody is being a bit dramatic. I don't trust just anyone with my boy but they are so amazing. They are patient listen to me and treat him with the utmost respect. They don't treat you like you have a bad dog. We now only use four leggers for everything. We board him with Jen at her incredible little camp. Kody gets extra Jen time and comes home happier than when we left him. The truth is my only complaint is if I could hear more about Kodys day when he gets boarded but that's just because I'm a crazy dog mom and get anxiety being away from him. Jen you have built an incredible business! If you have a dog or a cat on the north shore and you need anything you have to go to four leggers. It's amazing !!! Our dog goes to both nursery school and day care with them. She gets super excited the second we pull in, and runs right in once she sees them! My groomer recently left four leggers but I decided to stay and try their new groomer. Their appointment was for 1 pm. I showed a picture to the groomer regarding how I wanted my 2 golden retrievers to look. I wanted a summer cut but told her due to their mats its okay to make them shorter. At 5 pm I got a call that they were not going to be done until somewhere between 6-7 pm! They were finally done at 7:30 and the explanation I got was "they over booked me". My poor dogs were completed traumatized from being stuck there for 6 1/2 hours and one of them had diarrhea the minute I could get him outside. The worse part of it was the groom was awful. She shaved them to the point they were almost bald (which is something you should NOT do to to a golden) and then left their paws and head completely furry so they looked like poodles. Someone I met out walking said they look like "circus dogs". Not only did I pay top dollar for them to be groomed but now I have to pay someone else to fix them. I also had to buy some ointment for my female golden who had razor burn on each side of her. I complained to Jen the owner but she didn't even have the courtesy of a reply so apparently she doesn't mind losing a customer. read more

We love Four Leggers!!! Rosie goes for day care and can barely contain her excitement as we pull into the Cummings Center. We were nervous about sending Rosie to daycare but Jenn and her staff have been so great at easing our worries. We love that the staff greet Rosie at the door and know her name. Jenn has even gone out of her way to contact us when we mentioned we were having crate training issues. Her suggestion worked perfectly!!! Filled out a 8+ page pre-reg. Fecal test. Vet papers. Make appointment and pay for interview. They cancel and I made another appointment. Whatever. I got lost in cummins, called to get a hint and nobody answered. (still made it on time). So I looked up location on the website, walked in with my puppy, THEN I LITERALLY got yelled at because apparently there's a sign saying I should have rang a bell. (51yo vet listening to "Sir I need you EXIT THE FOYER IMMEDIATELY" like it was a nuclear hazard zone). I ask 3 times where I'm supposed to go for the interview but she plays 10 questions first, and ONLY after making me wait in that foyer for her to finally come out. Name, breed, temperament? 20 questions! -I just want to know if this is where I need to be. Finally she tells me there's a different entrance.(?!) I go to other door, fill out more paperwork: all redundant, all of it. Then they send me back to where they said I wasn't supposed to be. (WTF) A guy comes out for the interview, does not even introduce himself and asks me all the same questions.. He didn't know the dogs name, sex. nothing. I answer his questions, but finally I said, shouldn't you have read that information packet? This OFFENDS HIM! -He leaves! Really? Triggered with ONE question? Now SHE comes out and starts asking me all the same questions AGAIN (Face it, she's busting my balls at tgis point, there was nothing she needed to talk to me about). I said, I just told you earlier, and then I told your co-worker, and you want me to tell you again? She took this as 'attitude' and said this interview is over. Kicked me out. I told the owner to review the tape, she denies there's any camera in the customer area.. Despite the 12 in her store area. Ok, fine. Would she talk to her employee and figure this out? Apparently owner condones behavior because I never received a single comment never mind an apology that they had done anything wrong. They said my dog 'shyed away' from other dogs and denied him in a fifteen minute test? I say BS. Other DOG care owners have told me explicitly, its IMPOSSIBLE to determine a dog is too shy, with new dogs in fifteen minutes. But that's their policy? Nobody is that stupid. The real deal is I walked into somebodys' shitty day and got made out as a villain. Yelp, you get to see the truth. read more

This is the worst customer experience I have ever dealt with. I went in after work last night after applying online and stated that I would like to sign my recent 6 month old puppy up for doggy daycare while I'm at work in the next plaza over. I first made the mistake of going in the back door where I discovered the filthy environment where the dogs play during the day (with pee and poop all over the floor and a terrible odor). When I was redirected to the front desk, I spoke with Tiffany an employee who explained they only do evaluations mon-fri. I stated that I just started a new job so I would be unable to get time off during the week, her response was too bad idk what to tell you. Frustrated, I asked the owners name and phone number. This morning I reached out to Jen requesting she make an exception for me to come in on a weekend day. After denying my request, I still continued to give them the benefit of the doubt and requested a half day at work so I could leave my puppy there for a couple hours to try it out. I willingly signed paperwork and made an apt for friday morning at 10 am for the eval. Out of consideration I then sent over his Vet Records. I got a text from the owner stating that because my SIX month old puppy is not neutered he is not allowed in the facility. I wasnt even prompted to send the vet records I did it willingly. My puppy is 4 days over 6 months. I responded to her asking for her to make an exception so at least he could get it for tomorrow and then I could try to get him neutered asap. Along with the unprofessionalism and condescending attitude throughout each and every phone call, she was the least bit considerate. I have now put in time off for tomorrow and have no plans to get my dog evaluated because of her unwillingness to work with me. I am disgusted by this facility and honestly am glad they showed their true colors up front because the place didn't seem like a sanitary place for my pet regardless. read more

We are so sad to be moving away from the Beverley area - our dog absolutely loves going to Four Leggers! The staff was so patient with him when we first brought him in because he was quite timid and a bit scared of everyone. However, over the course of a few visits, he really warmed up and now he can't wait to go to daycare! The facility is very clean, and the people working there are extremely kind and helpful. The dogs get lots of opportunities to play, sleep, run around, or just enjoy the weather. Plus, you will occasionally get a "report card" and you can look at the daycare photos they post on Facebook! read more

I have not been able to board my dog in years because she has separation anxiety. We have not been able to travel unless we have gone somewhere that is pet friendly (and that can be difficult to find, at times). I spoke to Jenn about my Boston Terrier and explained to her that she has tried to bite previous caretakers in the past - even those that she knows well. Jenn told me that she could definitely take Liz for boarding. I was skeptical - not of Jenn - but of my dog and that this would actually be successful. She spent 3.5 days with Jenn. Even though Liz was stressed from being boarded and even tried to bite Jenn, she still had a successful stay! Jenn was great at working with her to gain her trust and taking things very slowly with her. I am confident that when we board her again, things will go just as well, if not better. The best part is that my dog was with Jenn at her home and not locked up in a cage at a kennel. I cannot recommend her enough!!! Thank you Jenn! read more

This place is AMAZING! I have a Bijon rescue who is very attached to me and fearful of abandonment. When I arrived, they gave Lucky the tour and introduced him to the other dogs and he felt at ease- right away! I am not from the area and was attending a conference at a hotel where they do not allow dogs. Four Leggers saved the day! I dropped Lucky off at 9:00am and picked him up close to 6:00pm and his tail was wagging! I could tell that he had a great time playing outside and making friends.I was SO happy!. I would take great pause with this place. I am finally getting around to writing this review as I promised the owner. New to the area and found this company to walk our puppy. We had a regularly scheduled walk and the dog walker was wonderful. After our summer break and we had a new schedule so I knew our puppy would need daycare instead of just a daily walk. My husband took care of the arrangements and I was all set to drop her off before my busy day. I go to drop off and went to the wrong door and was kindly told I needed to go to the front office to finish paperwork. I walked in commented on the nice storefront. Then I get in an unwelcoming tone "Do you need something?" I explained my error and that I dropped off around back and just needed to finish paperwork. She then proceeded to review it and harps "I told your husband that she also needed a fecal test from veterinarian!" Again her tone was so unwelcoming. So needless of the mistake we were already a current client and she could have easily suggested a solution. "Oh we have a key to your house why don't we just come by today and walk her until you get your correct paperwork." Instead, she keeps her hands in her sweatshirt, insults my husband and just stands there. I then have to drive back around and my puppy. I am not happy with her tone and then realize they also have my house key so I have to drive back around, go back in for the house key because there is no way I am giving this place any of my money nor do I feel any sense of compassion from this person. I can't imagine this being a dog person. I come to find out this person is the owner-Jenn!! Now I know I made the right choice to never let her near my dog. Just a horrible attitude.
