if you care about your animals don't go here, i for one will not be going back. my healthy cat needed bloodwork and a rabies vaccine and somehow they gave him sepsis. i do not know if they work in dirty conditions or re-use supplies on animals but my cat almost died. when I called to ask questions thinking that maybe my cat was having a reaction to the rabies vaccine I was told I would be given a call back. they never called back. in fact they told me they had no record of me calling even though i sent them a photo of the. call record from saturday morning. was told that saturdays are busy and would not have had time to answer my call. was also told it's the "call centers" fault.... the whole situation was very mishandled and has caused me almost 3000 is emergency vet bills. Avoid this place for grooming at all costs. We took our dog in for her birthday so she would look cute for pictures and she looks so embarrassing. Unfortunately I tipped before I even saw her but she came out with bald spots on her chest, head, and neck. Her beard was uneven and her tail hair was neglected. It's my fault, I normally use a independent groomer but I didn't get a chance to make an appointment before her birthday. Her head has a little bit of scabbing under the bald spot and it breaks my heart to know my dog was probably uncomfortable and even could have been in pain. I do like petco and I'm happy to have a place close for anything I need but I will never groom here again. I know they are busy in the grooming salon and I sympathize but at the cost of my dog is too much. read more

I am a huge fan of Petco in general, but I was extremely excited when I found out there would be one going in less than 5 miles from my home. Today I had to stock up on kitty litter and check out the newest location. Stepping through the door I immediately noticed how clean and organized the store was. Some of the other locations I have visited were a little like an obstacle course to get around, but this one is great to maneuver. A low cost vet will be going in soon and their entrance is immediately to your right when you enter the store. A little farther down they offer grooming services, which includes a doggie self wash for $10 or the regular groomers. I had stop and see the sweet kittens for adoption as I headed towards the cat supplies. After finding what I needed a made.my way past the other adoptables; fish, birds, mice, guinea pigs and lizards. While I was browsing Dusty said hello and let me know he was there in case I needed help. When I got to the checkout, Amber was extremely friendly. I'm posting a one star only due to what I saw today. I was watching through the pet grooming window, while waiting to be waited on. One of the groomers was attempting to trim a dog's nails and the dog was very distressed. The dog kept pulling back and turning its head (while hooked up). The groomer would not let go of the dog's foot as the dog continued to twist and pull. Its leg was stretched out as the dog twisted. This was very upsetting to me and another customer that saw the interaction. I hope this is an isolated situation! read more

This review is strictly for the self-wash facilities at this location. We are on vacation and decided to give both our dogs a treat and give them a bath. I had remembered that this location had self-wash facilities from one of our previous visits. You need to check in prior to starting which is normal. The waiting time for someone ahead of us that was arranging to have their Lab groomed was unreasonably long. There were several Petco folks buzzing around but all seemed to be just watching the drama unfolding with this other couple. Finally, we were up and check in was a three minute event. We were told that the dryers were not very good but they would supply as many towels as needed. That should have been our cue to move on down the road. All pet owners know how important the drying portion is when grooming. We were given a small basket of towels, a ratty brush, (we brought our own) and some type of retaining lead. We went to the bathing area, there were three tubs and all were available. The clerk gave us quick instructions. And off we went. The retaining lead was a joke, too short in our opinion but we had no idea how the lead should work, or how to adjust. We decided not to use it. The sprayer was heave and awkward to use, like a commercial kitchen sink sprayer. Once you press start on the panel you select shampoo, conditioner, rinse, power rinse. When applying the shampoo the water runs the entire time while applying the shampoo. So basically you are washing the shampoo right off the animal. There was virtually no way to lather up your pet. So I did the best we could and then started the rinse. Once I felt that was complete, I toweled off the dog with these thin raunchy rags they called towels and started the blower. Almost no volume and next to zero on the heat. The whole time the dogs stood in a shallow pool of water because the tub is not pitched to drain properly. I needed to squeegee with me hand ti get the water to move to the drain end of the tub. Both me wife and I tried for a half hour to dry but to no avail. We concentrated on the dogs head and ears and gave up on the body figuring the heat outside would do the rest. Here's the thing, the cost was $20 a dog which I felt was very fair but, you have to have equipment that works and does the job. We have gone to these facilities at other locations that give you a bottle of shampoo and conditioner that you can apply, lather up, and fully rinse. All have had functioning dryer blowers that get the job done. There were no for dogs with hair/fur longer than a short hair Lab or Beagle. read more

Don't waste your money here with all the hidden vet fees. They claim to be an affordable vet, but that's a crock of bullshit. They don't get back to you so that you " conveniently" have to pay MORE than once for a consultation for something basic. Very disappointed with this business. PETCO should have stayed just petco. Very nice, clean and neat PETCO. It's inside the new Sunrise Plaza so it still has that new feel to it. The employees are friendly and very helpful. Seems to be very well stocked on all your animal supply needs. They also offer grooming, self wash, dog training and cat adoptions inside. So there's tons of different services you can get here aside from just your typical food, accessories and toys purchase. I say it's worth the extra few minute drive from the Loop to come to this location instead. read more

We have our Pomimo groomed here regularly. While it is a chain so the price is the same regardless of where you go I feel we get consistently high quality service here making it worth the extra drive. It is not the location closest to our home. The staff is very helpful and you can tell the groomers love what they do by the manner in which they greet animals. Liz is our favorite groomer. We usually take the spa service package on top of the regular groom. They are happy to customize (extra short in the hygiene area, etc.) to our liking. Service is always prompt and we get notification by text when our dog is ready to be picked up. He's always happy when we arrive and wearing a new neckerchief. read more

The management of the grooming department is terrible at this location. A couple of months ago I had an appointment and because of construction was 10 min. late and they turned me away and said they couldn't groom him, after being in traffic for over an hour. Today I had a 3:00 appointment and when I got there I was told by the manager that the groomer called in sick and someone "should" have called me. Again after sitting in traffic for an hour to get there on time and that's all he had to say. I will never step in this Petco again!!! Petco Self dog wash. This review is only about the dog wash station in petco in Kissimmee. The hair dryers in the dog wash area don't work. They blow a weak strength of cold air. No power at all. The employees warn you ahead of time, so it isn't a surprise. Why doesn't the store get them fixed? It has been this way quite a while. At the very least they could offer a coupon for a free self dog wash for the next visit. Since there is no indication they are getting the dryer's fixed, be prepared to take very wet doggies home. read more

So against my wishes we have a new friend in the house. We are getting everything we need to take care of it and one item was being a problem. As luck would have it I did a bit of searching online and found the best price on it from Petco so long as I picked it up. This store is not particularly close to me but it is the closest location. We were able to stop the following day and pick it up. Iput on my mask and went in to see how to make it happen. When I walked in there was an employee handy so I asked where to pick up an online order. They directed me to the register and I got in line. I walked up and told the cashier I was picking up an order and they checked my license. They got my order and handed it to me and told me I would receive an emailed receipt. This was the easiest shopping I have done in some time. I did not get to shop the store but they did not appear to be overly busy. The grooming department is horrible. Was originally told I didn't have to make appointments for just nail trims, went once, everything went great. Went again, was told I needed an appointment for any service as they were far to busy to fit anything in. There was no animals in site. Fine whatever, made an appointment online, which you can't just book for a nail trim but whatever, was denied service again because of my dogs prescribed anxiety medication that was not previously an issue. No mention of anything online either about medications being cause for disqualification. read more

Went to petco for a self-service dog bath. The dryer is awful. Cold and weak. There is no way to dry a pet with that. When checking if that was really the way the equipment worked, i heard a response "that is why it costs only 30 usd". I had to head back home and dry my dog with a hair dryer. I'm going to review from this visit because in the past I would rate around 3-4. The groomers were great and our dog looks amazing! There's a manager, a woman, who's is awesome and super helpful whenever we go. Unfortunately, there are a few men that work there who make you feel like you're inconveniencing them by just being there, I saw one is now a dog trainer. I will still go back for the grooming, as it's the closest to the house, but we definitely limit our visits and try and get our items somewhere else. read more

This is the very first and last time I will EVER go to this petco!! We are absolutely astonished by the actions of this Petco today, when getting our puppy from his grooming. We dropped him off for a regular grooming and when we arrived to pick him up, he was crying a lot more than normal. The appointment setter advised us that he cried the entire time he was being groomed and most likely because we don't brush his hair enough, which still didn't make full sense of why our puppy was crying so much even after the groom. We arrived home and noticed that when picking him up he screamed in agonizing pain. This PETCO took out a chunk of his skin, we now have to take measures to ensure our puppy doesn't get an infection and any further injuries. Leaving a loved one to be abused is never okay and if we can be a voice to stop others from going to this location at PETCO to pay for their animals to be mishandled and abused than hopefully that helps. I will also be contacting corporate and making them fully aware!!!! read more

This is a nice new store and the staff was great. However, we had some problems. We were there to give our 10 pound dog a bath in the self wash area and we didn't like having to bend down so much to reach her in the tubs. It was very awkward. Would probably be great for a big dog but not comfortable for bathing a small one. We've used others at other self wash companies and they had higher wash stations for little dogs and lower ones for big ones. Also my husband and I were on the same side since the tubs are up against the wall. Didn't work well for us. I'm 5'6" and my husband is taller, so normal height. The dryers blow such cool air that she never did get actually dry, especially since the tub didn't drain completely. Even standing on several towels she still had completely wet feet. The shampoo didn't get her white fur very bright and her hair feels very coarse. Won't be back. I'll find someplace else that fits our needs better. read more
