I have a 6 month old pup named Ellie who needed some basic obedience training and conditioning for what seemed like simulated separation anxiety. I talked to John on the phone about the type of training he thought she would need. Just through the phone conversation I learned a lot about what he was able to do for our family but also for my pup. He gave me some advice over the phone that I could start practicing with her. Even though my zip code was a few miles out of what their website says they cover, he still was willing to travel down to my house for training. He has a package of 3 initial trainings(which he says is usually all most people need) and then additional ones if needed. I was looking around at petco/petsmart trainings but they did not seem like they'd be helpful since theres only one person with up to like 5 dogs and the things they were teaching seemed like stuff I could just find online myself. After our first hour and a half of private session and consultation, my little Ellie has shown tremendous( if not the most I've seen in this short amount of time) improvement! I also actually have a structure of a training regimen I can practice with her now until the next two sessions which are flexible in timing. ALSO, he brought toys, treats, and chews for Ellie to use for her training and to keep afterwards! Great surprise! HIGHLY recommend their in home training with John. He has extensive knowledge on training and understands the way dog's minds work and how they communicate which is very important when bonding and training your dog. It is also private 1 on 1 training so the whole hour and a half is all focused on your dog and it's needs unlike the retail store training. It is all positive reinforcement training so nothing negative! I am already confident that this was worth the time and money only after our first session and about as much as I would've spent on the petco or petsmart training! Sure it is half the amount of classes I'd be getting but the quality covers down. Not trying to knock the big chains, but the training just isn't the best out there. Before we came to Big Paw, we seemed to go through dog sitters like drinks of water.... For the past year we've been using Mike and crew, and we'll never use anyone else. The crew is always professional, communicative, and they deliver what they promise. True, seems like an easy menial task to let the dog out, but Mike and company take it to another level. Case in point, we had to make an emergency trip out of town.... Last minute I put an appointment in late night, had a response within a couple hours and we knew our little guy would be taken care of. On the visit I had a call, there were some questions... Mainly about towels to dry off our dog since they were caught in a rainstorm. Mike also took the time to wipe down the kitchen floor since there was a small mess created by our wet houseguests. Have to say I felt comfortable everything was in good hands.... Upon returning home, late night... We opened our garage door to find that Mike took a few seconds and pulled our trash can into the garage for us. Little details go a long way... Recently used Big Paw when I went on vacation. They're THE BEST!!! Their prices are well worth it. Not only do they come in and walk your Dog but they will water plants; clear the mail box; empty your trash, etc. You will get a picture each time your Dog is walked along with a map or the route they took when walked and timestamp for the length of walk. The 1st night my Dog made a mess in his crate and they were nice enough to wash his blanket and Dog bed. I can't say enough about them. I'm thoroughly satisfied. read more

Before I get into any of the juicy details, I'd like to give Big Paw Pet Care two thumbs and four paws up!!! I recently went on vacation and my biggest concern when I was planning everything was the care of my three very diverse dogs, all with specific needs. I did a lot of research because my previous experience with boarding two of my three dogs with Preppy Pet was a horrible one. My dogs came back with hairless spots and red swollen skin. I found out they ended up staying locked in their tiny crate the rest of the time they were there (that happened on day 2 of the trip). I couldn't enjoy my vacation knowing my dogs might have that happen again. I went to a few boarding places to check them out, even Disney's boarding facility. A couple of boarding places seemed just barely okay, but still not the quality of service I'd want for the money spent (which is A LOT!) and Disney was going to cost over $1000 for minimal care of my dogs. Before settling on boarding my dogs, I started to research a pet sitter. I'm the type of person where I like to have all the info up front before buying something or going with particular business for a given service. I finally narrowed down a list of three pet sitters that seemed to have fair pricing, serviced my area of Orlando, not some sort of scam, were bonded and insured, and had a nicer site that explained what they offer. I love Big Paw Pet Care's website. It's easy to navigate and book a reservation. Shortly after putting in my reservation request with pictures and full details about each dog, we were contacted and setup a meeting with the sitter (We had John and we loved him). John came by on an agreed upon day and time. He got to meet our dogs and went over everything we submitted online about our cute and crazy dogs. John was so nice, prepared, and professional. He definitely put me at easy to go forward with using BPPC. Once it was time for our trip, we met up with John again to give him our keys. We also let him know that we would have security cameras setup so we could check on our dogs during the day when John wouldn't be around. John was so great about it. He was use to customers doing that and had no issues or weirdness about it. Another aspect about BPPC that makes you feel so relieved. On our trip, we watched our dogs to make sure that they looked like they were doing great and they looked totally normal. Our security cameras send an alert to our iphones when there is motion detected, so we got to see John a couple times for a few minutes and he was giving the dogs SO much love. It made my heart melt knowing my dogs were happy and loved. John also sent us text updates, photos, and got back to us quickly if we texted him. It was awesome having that access to John and our dogs without feeling like your hounding the person. When we got back, there was a progress report on the dogs for each visit. John was awesome, honest, and he gave us more customer service than any boarding place ever could have. He even brushed our dogs teeth a few times (which they are use to, but wasn't expected) over the time we are gone! That's just a summary of my experience. I can't wait for the next vacation because as long as Big Paw Pet Care is around, I won't feel guilty leaving my cute furry babies. I 1000000000000% recommend them. I will be going back to them in the future for sure. The money is so worth it. Even if I had to pay as much as a boarding place, it would still be worth it. This company hires people that ACTUALLY care about the animals, their job, and you as a "concerned parent." I will never have to board my dogs again! The only down side is that when we came home we thought our dogs would go nuts from missing us - instead they were totally calm and just like "oh hi!" lol. I guess that's not too bad of a down side. After moving to MetroWest from Winter Springs, we couldn't continue with the same "nanny" we used and loved before. Laura the Pet Nanny was able to refer us to Mike/Big Paw Pet Care and I've not regretted it once! My dog Paisley now loves Yogi just as much as her prior nanny Rebecca. When I'm at work all day, I can rest assured knowing that Pais is getting some love and attention despite my absence. We have just recently started using Big Paw pet care to take care of our dog for potty breaks during the day when my hubby is away on business.
