Great store and staff. We went into the store on Sunday early afternoon and the store was very busy and had a dog training class going on. The associates were very friendly and helpful. Helped us with selection and advice. One associate helped us get the animal we wanted and was friendly. She spoke about her pets and life and was very helpful with advice and tips on making out new pet feel at home. Associate was very careful and friendly when handling pets careful not to stress the animals out. The cashier was on top of things and had no issues with scanning items or totals. He was very nice and quick and very careful with each item. Will be back very often. Good bye pay checks. :)

This huge Petsco store has a lot of pet food and pet supplies. The store was clean and staff was courteous. My dog got a treat.

I brought my toy schnauzer, Bailey, to be groomed last Friday. Mallory did a great job. Bailey looked and smelled good.

Karen helped me out by taking my 2 large German Shepherds after finding a few fleas on them. This happened to my dogs after staying at the, " La Quinta" (pet friendly hotel). We have been on the road for six days traveling from New York on our way back to California. This morning we woke up to both dogs scratching miserably, with fleas from this hotel! Karen told me she was actually booked solid this morning but she rearranged her schedule to help us out because of our situation. Karen's attention to detail, great communication skills, and ready smile made the experience even better than I expected. I am so excited to share this with you! We are so pleased with her expertise and expedient service! We were able to get back on the road and continue our travel within one hour from dropping the dogs off. Hence, Karen's professionalism and enthusiasm to get to the root of the issue promptly exceeded my expectations. She called us when the dogs were finished. When we picked them up she surprised us with a 10% military discount which I stood there in disbelief! This type of professionalism and commitment to the highest level of customer's satisfaction has to be acknowledged. Having in mind such a pleasant experience with her and her lovely employee! It is my pleasure to recommend anyone reading this to do business with her in the future! Sincerely, London Fiehler

I am active-duty military stationed in San Diego, CA, I was 6 months pregnant when this incident occurred now that I am not pregnant anymore, back from deployment, and in a good routine with my baby, I want to get justice for my dog. A little back story, Pearl was my 4-year-old healthy English bulldog that I had gotten while I was stationed in Japan. She flew all the way from Japan to the United States without any issues and went to the vets prior to this trip to NM (which I have documentation stating that she was 100% a healthy dog). On March 21st, 2025, I had last minute decided to board my dogs, Pearl (English bulldog) and Levi (Akita Inu) at Karen's Animal House (ADDRESS- 1646 Mahaney Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88005) for a quick overnight stay. As I went to drop them off, I explained to the worker that Pearl needs to be kept cool. He stated, "don't worry, we get bulldogs all the time here," this gave me some reassurance that Pearl was in good hands for the night. Pearl and Levi were dropped off at 12:30pm. Around 1:30pm, a worker called me to say that Pearl was outside, she got hot, and they brought her inside. Around 3:30pm, I was called again and told that Pearl was unresponsive, and he think she has passed away. I was hysterical, I proceeded to tell him to call the vets immediately or bring her to wherever vets and I would be there AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I was there in less than 10 minutes. As I arrived to Karens Animal House, NONE of the workers were helping me even locate Pearl. I went slamming through each room and not a single person stopped to assist me. I walked out to their grass yard, where I saw this worker carrying my dog out in her bed and she was clearly dead. SHE WAS ONLY THERE FOR 3 HOURS. Her body was so cold and stiff, I could not understand what had happened within 3 hours. My other dog was a wreck. Karen has never called or even tried to reach out to me or even pay for any of this. I paid for Pearl to get a necropsy done immediately because I couldn't drive back to San Diego with my dead dog in the car. The necropsy came back that she aspirated due to "foreign material." Meaning, her death could have 100% been preventable, just like if you see a HUMAN BEING CHOKING. The workers failed to mention to me if she had possibly vomited at any point, I was told that Pearl was being watched by one of the other workers, which is clear negligence. It isn't like she dropped dead because of a heart attack; ANYONE would have noticed a dog choking. I had gotten in contact with an Officer Aguirre of Las Cruces Animal Control. He went to Karens Animal Place to interview, I asked if they had footage from the cameras and he said that he asked but apparently the cameras "didn't work." He also told me that he was going to get somebody to arrest me because I was "threatening him." I spoke with him again; he said that there was nothing that he could do and the case was closed. This was traumatizing, he seemed to be taking the easy way out. I didn't understand why animal cruelty laws were not being followed judging by where I live in San Diego, this situation hell would be raised. This event caused me so much emotional stress that I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression and now must take medication every day to regulate myself. This whole thing happening while I was 6 months pregnant, I had too many scares thinking that I lost my baby. Pearl was my whole heart, and it truly felt like I lost my child. I know nothing will bring her back, but I want justice for her and I don't believe Karen should get away with this. Dogs don't just die in 3 hours.

Very poor business practices!…read more I wish that I had gone with my instincts about going to this business for agility training. I first met the owner, Kim Fuque at a Pet Expo at the Las Cruces Convention Center. She had a booth where she gave an agility demo. At the time, she was very boastful about her talents, and seemed to have a rather large ego. When I came up to speak with her after the demo, she was rather stand-offish, and when I asked to pet her dog, she said "no." Since that time, one person recommended her. And in spite of the fact that I had heard negative comments about her, I decided to look into her services. Here again, I found signs that made me think twice about going to her for agility training. Her website is poorly designed with dead links, and a poorly designed calendar that outlines her classes. I had to fish all over the site to find the address for the business. And finally, when I did contact her via email, her reply seemed rudely brief. Against my better judgment, I decided to give her a try. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, and check out what she had to offer. So tonight, I went to her facility to check out her 'Agility Foundations' class. The class started at 6 pm on January 8th, a dark winter night, and when I arrived, I discovered that the course was being held outdoors. Her facility is off the beaten path, South/West of Picacho and the Rio Grande. In a sparsely populated area, there are no street lights, and her facility was difficult to find. There was no sign in front, and it looked like there was a house at the specified address. The only way that I knew that I was in the right place, was that back away from the street, there were lights, like the kind that light up a baseball field. But the front was completely dark, and I had to walk a distance around the house and figure out how to get back to the field. When another woman and I found our way to the back to find Kim waiting, I mentioned that it was difficult to find her place with no lights and no sign in the front. Kim looked at me as though I were speaking a foreign language. She then asked my name and told me that as soon as I paid the class would get started. I told her that I wanted to observe the class before I decided if I wanted to join. She said no. So I turned around and left. I have never attended a training class that demanded a non-refundable payment prior to attending the first class. And in this instance, I just said that I wanted to observe the class. Are you kidding me??? She said NO! Why on earth would I want to give my money to a person unwilling to allow me to observe her class before deciding whether it was for me or not. Too bad, she lost my business. And from other reviews, and personal recommendations, I know that I am not the first one to have problems with your impersonal style. Kim, you are not the only option in town, and I will be using another service. In closing, I suggest that anyone considering Las Cruces Dog Sports, listen to your inner voice, and avoid this facility. Having good equipment and some know how cannot overcome shoddy and impersonal business practices.

I scheduled a grooming appointment for my Goldendoodle and was clearly told my appointment was at 9:00 a.m. They even hand-wrote "9am" on a business card. What they failed to explain -- verbally or in writing -- was that this was only a drop-off time and that my dog would be crated for an undisclosed amount of time before grooming. I was never informed that my dog would be crated at all. When I questioned this and explained that my dog has never been crated, I was dismissively told, "Well, you should have asked." That response alone was enough to tell me this place does not value communication or client trust. The environment was overwhelming -- at least seven dogs barking nonstop, owners' personal dogs running loose, while client dogs were caged. It was so loud that conversation was nearly impossible. Nothing about this felt calm, organized, or professional. They also insisted on vaccination records, yet the staff member barely glanced at the paperwork, flipping through it without actually reviewing anything. When they finally offered to refund my $20 deposit, I immediately accepted. I would not leave my dog here. The place did not look clean, expectations were not explained, and staff friendliness disappeared the moment concerns were raised. I would strongly caution pet owners -- especially those with dogs who are not crate-trained -- to look elsewhere
