Decided to try to make the same return again during the day. This time, the associates at Petco went above and beyond to try and figure out how to make the return, and I had not mentioned that I had been there previously and had a poor experience trying to make the return. The cashiers even switched out to see if they could find the ticket under my phone number. They were unsuccessful locating the ticket to make the return, but when I explained that I can't use the product because my tank already has a backing, and asked if a store credit was possible, they worked really hard to make it happen (they had to try twice because the register wouldn't let them the first time). I will be continuing to make purchases for my pets here. I would recommend that if you have had a bad experience here to give this store another chance. There are a lot of associates that do work hard to make sure the experience is a positive one. read more

I took our dog for the first time to Petco grooming. I booked an appointment at 11:45, my dog is 10 pounds Yorkie mix (pretty small) I got there and the lady groomer was apparently having a bad day, zero friendly, In a rush bad looking face, she said it will take her 3 hours, i asked her why? is a pretty small dog so apparently they are overbooked. picked her up at 3pm and they didn't brought me my dog until I paid, when we saw her we almost die in horror. my dog looks like someone cut her hair with their teet, horrible! I asked her to trim the hair half of what she had and she didn't! it was a horrible experience I will never took my dog there, don't take yours!!! read more

I brought my dog Zito in for a simple bath. He is the sweetest dog in the world, gentle, affectionate, and he has been groomed many times in different places without ever having a single issue. To my absolute shock, they refused to groom him and claimed he was having a "hysterical fit." This is simply not consistent with his temperament or his history. He has always been handled professionally and calmly elsewhere. If I had read the reviews before going, I would NEVER have taken him there. The grooming reviews are overwhelmingly one star and consistently negative. g. I deeply regret not checking beforehand. The staff was rude and dismissive, and the manager was completely unprofessional. Instead of trying to handle the situation with competence and care, they labeled my dog and turned us away. It felt like laziness and lack of training disguised as "behavioral concern." Frankly, I believe God protected my baby from something worse happening there. If this is how they treat a calm, well-socialized dog, I do not want to imagine how they handle animals behind closed doors. Petco Melbourne grooming is poorly managed, poorly reviewed, and clearly not equipped to handle dogs with patience and professionalism. I've also noticed that the products are more expensive and I'd argue the same quality or less useful. I go into the store and the entire line of natures balance cat food is missing from the shelves. The clerk said the line was discontinued in order to make room for friskies cat food. Seriously???? So she recommends another similar cost brand in substitute for $23. At the register the clerk asks for an additional $4.28 for my FREE bag of food. When I ask why, she says "tax". She not only resisted to provide customer service because she didn't want to be bothered and was currently not assisting any other customers. Krys is an amazing groomer at the Vero Beach location! Have had my dog groomed by her twice now and each time she cuts her spot on!

Vet clinic: Brunette Receptionist was rude and unprofessional. She needs a reminder that customers are the reason she even has a job!!! The female tech was the only friendly person. The old doctor's bedside manner was rude and dry. We were told dog had ear infection but would not prescribe anything without more tests. We forgot to ask for a nail trim so we walked back and were told we'd need another appt for $86 to trim his nails. And even after diagnosing an infection, the incompetent doctor refused to prescribe a simple antibiotic orally or topically. The most atrocious clinic in all my 30 yrs of dog ownership and wouldn't go there for free! These people don't care about you or ur dog...they are bitter, mean and struggling for power and flex it at the cost of ur dogs' health. Shame on you!!!!!! They go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction not only with animals you purchase but if you have to return something for any reason in the first 30 days they are so helpful! I really appreciated the small animal manager Lauren who gave us all kinds of information and friendly advice about the animals we purchased for our son. It has literally taken me 17 months to write this review that's how painful my experience was. We scheduled euthanasia for my 15 yr old Maltese who had a large mass fused to her spine which left her incapacitated. Unfortunately we saw the older gentleman who showed absolutely no compassion. It took them 45 minutes to put her IV in. Looking back I should have just taken her home at that point. Apparently they were having trouble inserting the IV as her blood pressure was so low. When they eventually brought her back out she was so sedated her eyes were rolling in the back of her head and her leg where the IV was, was covered in blood. I asked if I could hold her through the procedure and the old gentleman said "No". I was so distraught I didn't even question why not. Needless to say after the event he just walked out of the room as if he'd just trimmed her toe nails. The vet nursing staff were more compassionate. We have since moved out of that area but those memories of her last few moments are so very painful and could have been slightly less traumatizing for all involved if we had had a vet who showed compassion, empathy and love. read more

They buzz cut my dog and stopped at the neck. They said he was moving too much. He's a 6 pound dog and he's been there before. I understand the risk involved but they could have at least made It look presentable. His feet were scraggly and there are random buzz cut lines all over him. I couldn't believe they didn't put any effort into making him look somewhat presentable. Then they gave me the phone number of someone to finish the cut and they don't have an availability for another month. They didn't charge me anything for It but It was so awful It brought me to tears. I had to finish the cut myself with scissors. And if i managed to do that, i don't see why they couldn't. Worst service ever! I made an appointment and explained what I needed for my German Shepherd. When I get to the appointment, they do not want to see a rabies email they want to see it on a paper. I have taken other pets before to the same location for grooming and they were OK with a verbal from the vets office. This is truly discrimination because I have a big black German Shepherd. I walk outside to call the vets office and when I come back inside I lose the appointment to someone else who had just walked in of course with a small dog. This is for Petco/Vetco animal clinic. took my Shih Tzu in about a month ago and had very nice Female veterinarian she was nice and knew her stuff. Because it was such a positive visit I went back today to get my dog her yearly shote Rabies etc. First this girl came with a paper and read it so fast I couldn't understand her when I asked her what she said she read it again at supersonic speed I still had no idea what she said? Then a older male veterinarian came in, and I doubt he had much knowledge of animal medicine. He wanted to run more tests on what the young female doctor did? He seemed confused? I am just hoping he gave my dog the right shots, as I wanted to get out of there.He didn't seem to be real sure about anything, and wasn't answering any questions That is the end of Vetco and I think even Petco for me. I don't like that they sale live animals, guinea pigs are coming in sick, I've seen sick mice,rats,hamsters, the some staff members don't really care or know what to watch for. I pointed out one had ringworm starting and I was told it's eye sleep crust, that's wrong it's a upper respiratory or ringworm which I seen the white crust starting around the eye. I've never seen flys in the enclosure befor, but their were so many trapped with the animal, those are not good for the animal. But their is 2 lovely lady's that do care one not sure of one name, the other is Lauren , neither lady was working at the time I was their. It was 2 gentleman working. But if Lauren was their she would take care of the guineas. I wish breeders would stop, I wish pet stores would stop buying them. read more

A poor bird was listed as sick less than a week ago and I offered to purchase him so he could get vet care instead of being stuck at the store.. I was told by the manager and 3 employees that I would be contacted when I could purchase the bird . If you're blessed enough to get Tiffany or Cynthia as your pet's groomers, you'll really be pleased with their work. We take our 2 Chow Chow puppies to these ladies (heavy double coats) and we get back beautifully groomed doggies that are very happy. Most of that "happiness" comes from all the love that's exchanged between our pups and their Petco groomers (you can't miss it)! And the rest of Petco's staff also treat our dogs wonderfully! Honestly so disappointed. The grooming services were awful. I just got a eye trim and a sanitary clean up and even that was messed up. He looks super uneven. They just didn't do a good job. Going somewhere else to get my dog cut. On top of that my shit zu came back with a matted belly so bad after his cut. We brush him every day and he was not matted when he walked in. My experience at this location is not a good one. I brought my dog here for a grooming and I was told they could not preform a simple grooming service on two different visits. The first I arrived late in the day about 5pm which I understood that they did not have time the second I arrived before 4 pm and still no service I asked about a appointment instead of apologizing for my in convince the staff (dog groomer) told me that even with a appointment she would not take the dog and complained about the size of my dog and staffing issues. Singling out my dog not to play while she put other dogs in to play. Her excuse was well the other dogs it's their 1st time at puppy play time. I heard her say that one of the puppies was there the day before. My dog only goes once a month. My dog is not aggressive. She always played nicely w/the other dogs. Today Tiffany went out of her way to load Molly into the car for me due to me just having hand and elbow surgery. DONT GO FOR GROOMING WITH LARGE DOG. I scheduled a grooming appointment online for my 1 year old golden retriever (shes on the smaller side of goldens) and when i get to my appointment that was scheduled 2 weeks before the date the lady at the desk said we didnt have a appointment and went to grab the supervisor. she Immediately had an attitude and said "we have the right to decline your animal, we only have limited space so we cancelled your appointment and notified you." let me add there were no dogs being bathed or groomed at the moment and we got no text, call or email about the cancellation. She was extremely rude and felt the need to treat us like we were stupid during the whole process, progressively raising her voice and wanted no part of hearing our side or seeing our records. she asked for my dogs records to book a new appointment and felt the need to snatch the papers out of my hands. needless to say i will never be going back to this petco for anything and would not want my dog to be handled by that kind of staff. after this i read many reviews which are mostly just about the larger breeds i fully believe they are just lazy and are interested only in the smaller breeds. really wish i would have gotten her name. read more
