After working with Alex, we realized that her biggest issue was that she was "over-excited". Alex recommended her to be on anxiety medication which we found was VERY helpful and needed. He also explained to us how to monitor her levels of excitement by using commands and waiting for her to calm down before she became jumpy, nippy and barking. We also realized that we needed to use a muzzle when new people came in and around our 2 year old to make sure she's not nippy with them. All this and the commands gave us huge relief. We had 4 sessions with Alex and have had her for 3 months and we feel so much better. We definitely recommend Alex. He knows what he's doing and he's so kind with the dogs.

He was our first little dog. We did puppy training and then time slipped away. Fast forward a year and we now have an adorable monster who won't listen, tons of anxiety, can't behave on a leash, hates kids......I watched videos, read blogs, tried positive treat training, and in doing so reinforced bad behaviour :(. Enter Laurie. Wow. She listened and talked to us and listened. After ONE VISIT, yes just one visit, we are able to take our Bandit on a walk. I work with him at the soccer fields to desensitized him to kids. He is no longer upset and freaking out. I could cry thinking about how close I was to giving up. We just needed the right tools and I became a leader so he doesn't have to constantly be on high alert. I feel like Laurie didn't just give us control of our dog, she gave us our life back. I called to enroll in the classes, but found that online was the preferred method. I went online and signed up, put in payment info, now what? A few emails later I saw where I needed to watch a couple of videos in order to get into the training. Okay, done.. I waited for instructions as the class time was quickly approaching. Nothing.. training day arrived, I found my way to Gigi's. Pretty impressive facility, multiple buildings, and multiple parking areas. I will admit it was a bit confusing. Luckily someone from the neighboring building came out and explained where to go. We got situated in the class and made it through. Positive reinforcement training is the preferred method, and the tips and information provided by Rebecca is top notch! My only reason for not going 5 stars here is that the signup portion of this experience was lacking a bit in my opinion. I'm old school, I like to speak with someone, get a name and a face. Working strictly online feels cold and impersonal to me. The classes most definitely make up for it as my dog and I do get lots of personal attention during class sessions!
