Petco is the only store around that sells the XL size floating logs (a must-have for your king betta) and these awesome cichlid rock caves

The customer service at the Petco in Williamsville and the Petco in Amherst is outstanding :-) I cannot say enough good things about it. This afternoon I called the Williamsville location to see if the loaches I was waiting for were in stock - Melissa in the aquarium department was so pleasant and helpful on the phone, even as the store was clearly very busy. I stopped in the store after work during rush hour and Melissa was again just above and beyond helpful. I had just missed a 50% off aquarium sale - but she let me know approximately when I can look out for the next 50% off sale - so I will not miss it this time. Melissa also took quite a bit of her time to discuss 2 of my aquarium set-ups (I have 10 aquariums and I always appreciate advice and tips as I am learning). She is very knowledgeable. I have a lot of bettas and cichlids - and we were discussing caves and hiding spots. She recommended trying out hamster/guinea pig plastic tubes as another affordable option, on top of the rocks/driftwood/caves I already have. What a great idea! As long as I have been into aquariums - that had never even occurred to me. Thank you, Melissa :-) My African Dwarf Frogs especially love the plastic tunnels/tubes I added to their tank. I added them to 3 of my other tanks and the loaches, bettas, and cichlids love the new hiding spots as well. In addition- Petco has an awesome aquarium plant selection! A lot of the staff at Petco have multiple pets - as do I - and it is always a fun experience to talk with employees at Petco who are as passionate about their pets as I am. I had a great conversation with the girl at the check-out this evening as well. I was buying a gecko screen cage along with my aquarium supplies - and she also had recently added a gecko to her pet family - so we discussed what we had learned so far, tips on holding geckos when they are young, and so on. Also - they matched the online price for me when I bought the cage, since I wanted to see it in the store before I decided to buy it. Everyone who works at this Petco is just so friendly and helpful - and there is always a manager nearby for additional or complicated questions. This goes for the Amherst location as well. I visit both locations frequently, and would recommend shopping at both of them for any of your pet needs.

    Rainny day in Clarence.

I like Petco in general an this one I n particular. I am glad they are still here. Unlike the other businesses that shutdown in the same plaza..

    Let sleeping ferrets lie.

This petco is awesome. They have a nice fish area display complete with " ocean and seagull" sounds. They even have a small selection of salt water fish and soft corals. Other Petco stores can be hit or miss for their fish areas. All their fish also looked healthy. Friendly service and the best thing ever was that they had ferrets. It may not be a big deal to some people but we dont have ferrets in California for sale

He's wearing pjs but she made my 4 year old look like a puppy! She dematted his tail making it beautiful!

It was Amanda who discovered while grooming our Bichon something unusual on the skin of his head and neck, it seemed "baggy." She knew of another dog with that condition and believed it indicated dementia. She was exactly correct. Our dear dog lived with doggie dementia another two years, and Amanda groomed him right up until the end, caring for him regardless of his quirks and age. Our other dog was also groomed by Amanda for years, sensitive to the elderly dog and her needs. When she died, Amanda sent a card, just like when our other dog passed away. We introduced our rescued Maltese to Amanda two years ago and this little dog with fear aggression went RIGHT to the dog-whisperer, Amanda! She does an excellent job. Finally, we adopted a standard poodle who is Amanda's newest customer from our household. Patricia, the owner of Oh You Dirty Dog!, is always accommodating, friendly and polite, a great business owner and a great addition to the Village. All prices are reasonable and competitive. For dog bathing, there are a couple of do-it-yourself dog washing stations, should the desire to bathe your own dog appeal to you. They're clean, organized and handy with a ramp to get Fido up to the faucet. All the stuff you need to get the job done is provided. I give Oh You Dirty Dog! and Amanda two paws up! You can trust your pet will come home clean, well groomed and happy. NOTE: Carly did an awesome job on our standard poodle, Gigi in January. Kudos!

There are several positive comments to share. 1. Maddie seems happy to go in and is happy when we pick her up. (YES!!) 2. The groomer is very nice. 3. Price is ok at $60 CASH. The negative is both cuts now, Maddie's head is just cut way to short. It is not even from side to side and the mustache is completely cut off in spite of being told they understood what she should look like. Yes, it will grow back. Yes, we love her no matter her hair cut. BUT -- not what we asked for or how a puppy cut looks on a Coton De Tulear. Conundrum: We have a place that our pup likes yet her haircuts are horrible. Very disappointed.

She says: "I know that cats can be "difficult" but I have a way of handling them that keeps them calm throughout the grooming process." In reality, she refuses to see cats who may be "difficult" because she is scared, unskilled, and unprofessional. She first saw my Persian cat a couple months ago, who was matted due to a skin condition. She was unable to do the job herself. She called me and my husband to help her, along with her manager. I contacted her for another appointment when my cat was in better shape (no matting), and, knowing my cat's temperament, she confirmed she would be able to see my cat again. She scheduled us on a Sunday for 1:30. She cancelled last minute and changed it to 3:00pm- extremely unprofessional. We arrived at 3:00pm, and without even looking at my cat, she began giving us a lecture about why she can't see him because he might be "bitey". Are you telling me you've never worked with a cat who is uncomfortable with grooming? She asked us to leave and have him drugged before coming in. I told her I had actually given him gabapentin before the appointment and she replied "I don't believe you". Is that any way to speak to your customers? And, why could she have not communicated this requirement to us before the appointment? Alicia is unable to work with cats and I will be escalating this situation further.
