Ask the Community - PetDocks Veterinary Hospital

I am in the trial phase of adopting Morrghan from Misplaced Mutts. I've had her for a week & Carrie suggested I make an appointment since she has had diarrhea for 3 days now & I'm only feeding her rice. How much is an office visit?

Our office visit is $48.00. If you'd like to make an appointment, our number is (252) 240-3885.

She was a gift I received from a boyfriend when I returned from deployment. She was only 6 weeks old. My adorable little light charcoal puppy with blue eyes ~ Stormy Rain. I moved to Morehead City in 2013 and was in need of a local vet. That's when I heard great things about Dr Westbrook and his staff so I chose him to treat my Stormy. In 2014, he removed a large tumor from her neck. She recovered well and went on to live, until she passed away at 14 yrs old. I loved her dearly and was heartbroken when I lost her. She was my {Navy} baby girl ~ my first lab. Dr. Westbrook and his staff took care of everything. I received a sympathy card, with a special poem inside, from the staff at Newport Animal Clinic.

Our poor Nala started to act funny and she was licking all her fur off. We took her to a local vet in Wisconsin and he said she was allergic to fleas. We gave her medicine and she didn't get better. We came to NC for Christmas and they took us in and Doc Westbrook new exactly what was wrong. She has a hormone imbalance and is going to have to take medicine for the rest of her life. He hooked us up with enough meds til we come back down in April and said if we need some before then he would ship it to us. He is awesome and we highly recommend his services.

We have been on the wellness program for our Lab for 13 years paying them $60 monthly. We would normally patronize the local vets as opposed to the corporation but in this case we were traveling a lot with my job and thought it was a good idea at the time since Banfield is located in most areas and it would make sense to sign up. We have always disliked the turnover in personnel including the veterinarians and lack of personal service that the smaller locally owned veterinarians offer and yesterday was the straw that broke the camel's back. Our lab was experiencing respiratory issues and her breathing was very labored so we called Banfield and told them of the symptoms asking for advice and seeking an appointment to bring her in and get it checked out. The lady answering the phone advised us to take her immediately to the nearest emergency animal hospital which is Havelock because they couldn't accommodate us now. (Keep in mind Banfield is nearest) This is our vet that we have been with for 13 years. We rushed her over to Havelock as advised to finding them closed so we called Banfield back and asked them to please see her. Again, we were turned away and told to take her to Swansboro Animal Hospital. Why weren't we told to go there to begin with? Why were we advised to take her to Havelock which is only opened nights and weekends? This was at 2pm on a Monday 4/13/26. We called the animal hospital in Swansboro and they said hurry her on in and they would await her arrival. When we got there, they immediately met us at the door and took care of getting her out of the truck. They took her in and examined her. They found that she had pneumonia and gave her antibiotics. Had we waited much longer the way she was breathing who knows the outcome. Banfield could have at the very least advised us the correct place to take her for treatment considering we have paid them in excess of $8,000 in last 13 years. Needless to say, Banfield will not get any more business from us.
