Dr. Fargnoli was very interested in what I had to say about my vertigo and the visual disturbances I've been having. He's incredibly easy to talk to about just about anything. His staff is also incredibly nice. I got stuck in traffic one day and ended up an hour late. They weren't annoyed or anything and squeezed me right in. The office is pretty much an all-in-one. Dr. Fargnoli is also a Lasik eye surgeon, so you have that, and they also have a pretty big glasses shop. I thought I'd be paying more for glasses because it was a private shop and not LensCrafters, but it turned out to be the same price I would have paid anywhere else (and with a much hipper selection). Dr. Fargnoli didn't push me into glasses, which was nice, he said my vision was pretty good, but if I wanted them for night driving, I could get them. Overall, I'd tell anyone who needs an eye doctor around Providence to go here.

The exam is good and I love everything he did because he is quite thorough and he showed me what is what. After the test I was able to go check on glasses, what glasses to get etc and I got a few choices. I decided on one pair and they said to wait 7-10 days but it was about 3 weeks before they gave me my glasses. I have called once a week, and they said no, on the third week when I called they told me it came it earlier but we tried calling and no one answered.. what... anyway good place but not so sure about the glass shop..

It's also the same building where I see my dermatologist and rheumatologist, and about a 15-20 minute walk from where I am, so really a plus. The experience here was pleasant. There was one other person ahead of me so the wait time wasn't bad. Dr. Cesaro here is really awesome, you know he knows what he's doing. This was a nice change from the other place I was going to (I will probably write a review about that later. Long story short, avoid mall optical shops at all costs). The person who had helped me select styles was Mary Ann, who also knows exactly what she's doing and tells you honestly what she thinks works well with a person's face. A breathe of blatant fresh air when you compare that to the sales associate at Lenscrafters that tries to push you to buying something that looks nice without regard to accommodation. Obv, I don't speak for all Lenscrafters, just from the experience I've had. They were nice enough to take notes on the styles that I kept in mind for later visits. I did eventually come back recently to try them on again but decided not to make a purchase. (really the price for what I had choosen was out of my range... $200 for frames, $130 for regular lenses, or $180 for poly carbonate lens which are thinner and less heavier). These were brand name Coach eyeglasses, not a big shocker. As much as I loved them I had to depart from them and call around for better deals. So, all in all great staff here. It would be 4 stars had it not been for steeper price range. Nonetheless great styles if you're willing to pay for the price.

However, this was billed as a "diagnostic" exam since the provider "found" dry-eye syndrome, something I never complained of or has trouble with. Result: $30 co-pay -A prescription for glasses or contact: An additional $60 -A "contact lens fitting assessment" (considered to be 'cosmetic') even though this has not changed in year. Result $70 Total Bill for an routine eye exam: $160 Be VERY skeptical of this place. I understand the contact lens fitting charge, as I have paid for that in the past, but the other two (2) charges are pure 'junk fees'. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place.

They gave me prescriptions for an eye condition that seriously needs to be treated or I would lose eye sight and yet they never bother to work with the insurance to obtain approval for that drug forcing me to see another doctor so I can get treated. Last time they gave me a new prescription (I have stigmatism) that I could not wear. When I look at a square object it becomes so distorted that it is almost a diamond. The staff are all friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions and concerns throughout the entire process. I knew exactly what to expect going in and coming out of surgery thanks to them, and the surgery itself only took about 10 minutes. I've had fillings that were way worse! 0 pain or discomfort. I'd describe the surgery itself like a slightly more complex eye exam. I opted to go with lasik over PRK, after talking with Dr. Rose (who is absolutely outstanding) and I was seeing clearly just a few hours later! Never once did I feel pressured or under informed. I couldn't recommend these folks enough! I struggled with vision since the 5th grade, and for the first time in my life I can just wake up and see!!! I had a 4:30 appointment yesterday, which I had to use vacation time from work to go to. I had…read morescheduled my appointment, drove 30 minutes to get there, and was 15 minutes early. The staff took my copay and advised me to sit in the waiting room. I sat in that waiting room with no updates for almost an hour. In the meantime, the staff was chatting and giggling amongst themselves and arguing over who should be allowed to go home early. I finally went and asked how long it was going to take for me to be seen. They told me I was next. I asked "how long does that mean, I have been waiting almost an hour" they just said "You are next" again. I told them to refund my copay and I was leaving and how unprofessional they were. They then said, "Sorry, we had 3 emergencies today", to which I responded "Why didn't you call me to reschedule, or at least tell me when I got here?". They just stared and said "Sorry". Totally unprofessional staff. I guess I will find someone else. I wish I could bill them for the time and $ they cost me through wasting my time / PTO.
