However, this was billed as a "diagnostic" exam since the provider "found" dry-eye syndrome, something I never complained of or has trouble with. Result: $30 co-pay -A prescription for glasses or contact: An additional $60 -A "contact lens fitting assessment" (considered to be 'cosmetic') even though this has not changed in year. Result $70 Total Bill for an routine eye exam: $160 Be VERY skeptical of this place. I understand the contact lens fitting charge, as I have paid for that in the past, but the other two (2) charges are pure 'junk fees'. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place.

Staff turn over a lot and while you can find someone who is friendly, that is few and far between. Rude to patients is an understatement. Thuy are seen and heard talking nasty to patients, even going out of their way to not accommofate you. Like myself, most of the patients are older and I think they belive it's ok to be rude to the seniors. Their billing is done by another company - and often payments are not attached to your account properly. If you are lucky to have a doctor that can see you in Barrington, SK or Fall River, make the drive. Their staff are not rude like they are in providence. Be prepared to sit on hold to get a message to your doctor, or to be disconnected when someone finaly pick up. It is sad this is how things are run now, but do have faith that your doctors and their team of medical proefessionals that work with them will go above and beyond for your care. The staff took my copay and advised me to sit in the waiting room. I sat in that waiting room with no updates for almost an hour. In the meantime, the staff was chatting and giggling amongst themselves and arguing over who should be allowed to go home early. I finally went and asked how long it was going to take for me to be seen. They told me I was next. I asked "how long does that mean, I have been waiting almost an hour" they just said "You are next" again. I told them to refund my copay and I was leaving and how unprofessional they were. They then said, "Sorry, we had 3 emergencies today", to which I responded "Why didn't you call me to reschedule, or at least tell me when I got here?". They just stared and said "Sorry". Totally unprofessional staff. I guess I will find someone else. I wish I could bill them for the time and $ they cost me through wasting my time / PTO. Not that it is an excuse but sometimes someone just has a bad day so please try not to base your opinion on one time! They may even be dealing with something even worse than that like having a child in the hospital or something very traumatic, again not an excuse. I was told that they don't have any availability and the next appointment would be in 4 months. All they could do was write down my number and call me in case of a cancellation (they never called). Luckily, I called another ophthalmologist practice and the receptionist there knew that a big floater combined with heavy nearsightedness could be something serious, so she gave me an appointment within an hour. It turned out it wasn't a floater, but a tear in my retina and I needed emergency laser surgery that same afternoon. I was told it that it was a good thing that I came in that same day, because had I waited any longer it could have turned into a detached retina. I cannot fathom how an ophthalmologist practice does not know that a big floater in very nearsighted people can mean a retinal tear or detachment and therefore is considered an emergency. I have never encountered a medical practice that did not make availability for emergencies or at least told the patient calling with such urgent symptoms to seek medical help elsewhere that same day. Maybe it was for the best that this office didn't have any availability for me, I have serious doubts now about their competency.

From the first call…read moreasking to setup the consultation appointment, to my final post-op visit, the experience was nothing short of amazing! The staff are all friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions and concerns throughout the entire process. I knew exactly what to expect going in and coming out of surgery thanks to them, and the surgery itself only took about 10 minutes. I've had fillings that were way worse! 0 pain or discomfort. I'd describe the surgery itself like a slightly more complex eye exam. I opted to go with lasik over PRK, after talking with Dr. Rose (who is absolutely outstanding) and I was seeing clearly just a few hours later! Never once did I feel pressured or under informed. I couldn't recommend these folks enough! I struggled with vision since the 5th grade, and for the first time in my life I can just wake up and see!!!
