With a quick look at my skin, the receptionist scheduled for two days later. Although I has asked my PCP and dermatologist for a biopsy, both had said they were certain of the diagnosis and did not need a biopsy. Judy Ky, P.A., took one look and said we needed a biopsy to know how to proceed. Two days later, she called with results and an appointment to begin treatment. I am very pleased with the progress, the billing and the treatment! I have recently begun using the Skincare Center services and couldn't be happier with the care and results.

The front desk also doesn't collect the appropriate amount of a specialty copay. As someone who's also in billing and deals with insurance this isnt how it should be. All co-pays and prices should be discussed with the patient before and after a procedure. Billing department never answers and claims to have sent out the billing prior which is false. I went to another appointment previously and was told I owed an additional $65.00 which was never mentioned previously. This charge was for pathology which wasn't discussed was charged by another provider to exam. Please explain the process to patients for clear understanding in the future.

When I arrived, no one was wearing masks. I was told that they are exempt from wearing them, and was then lectured about the death rate of COVID, that masks are completely ineffective, and that I can go ahead and take my mask off. When I explained that I have differing beliefs and good reason to wear one, I was again belittled. You could tell they really didn't want me to wear it, which is not their choice to make. Already blindsided about the masks, I then asked if the doctor could keep 6 feet from me in the room. A reasonable compromise, right? She told me we could discuss it once we got to the room. I wasn't sure why we couldn't discuss it in the lobby right then, but I later realized it was because she had no plans to keep her distance from me. In the room, she sat very close to me despite me having already requested her not to. I understand if someone is exempt from mask wearing. I get it. My issue here is that they did not make this clear to me as a new patient. Furthermore, the doctor lectured me about masks and suggested I take mine off. And finally, they did not attempt to keep distance. I felt very uncomfortable. This office should make it clear they are exempt, so their patients can then make a choice that is best for their personal health. They should also allow patients to wear masks if they choose, without making them feel wrong for wearing them. I am very disappointed with the professionalism of Midwest Dermatology. If you want to feel that your voice is valued and heard as a patient, do not choose this office.

She starts conservatively and would rather add a little more later if needed than overdo it from the beginning. After my first appointment, she had me come back a couple of weeks later so she could see how everything settled and make sure we achieved the result we were going for. She made a few small tweaks at that visit, and I really appreciated that level of follow-up and attention to detail. She takes her time, makes sure I'm comfortable throughout the process, and genuinely cares that I'm happy with the results. I've always felt listened to rather than rushed or pushed into doing more than I wanted. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone who takes a careful, personalized approach.

I don't look "frozen", and no one has noticed, other than to tell me that I look great! I highly recommend Dr. Vargas.

The office here was efficient and the appointment was thorough. I went to another dermatologist last year at another hospital who was almost mocking that I was in to get checked out. She's like, "you don't use a tanning booth and don't have anything worrisome? Why are you here?" Um. You know, to not get skin cancer and to do preventative care! It was the opposite here where my appointment ran smoothly while also taking any other questions I had. So if she's accepting new patients (no guarantee), I'd highly recommend Dr. Horner. She knows what she's doing and is overall top-notch.

The front desk told other patients the doctor was running an hour behind but not me... I am giving her 4 stars because she is personable, factual and gets it done quick! She will also tell you if she feels comfortable or not removing a mole or doing a certain procedure. The parking garage is a pain in the butt, no one can park between the lines. If you drive a larger vehicle you should just head right up to floor 6/7. This is considered plaza 1 but its in building 3. The nurses were all very friendly and communicative. I have another appointment in May. She is part of St, Lukes Medical Services.
