They didn't have my item ready days after it was supposed to be. The person at the counter said they only take cash and my ticket had no date, no info but my phone number. They said to wait until they called me when the item was cleaned and ready for pickup. There is something awry at this place and I doubt I will ever get my item back. HORRIBLE BUSINESS! I am submitting this review on behalf of a friend who is a very, nice and kind person and didn't want to cause anyone any trouble but the public needs to know about places like this. The fact is my friend brought a men's dress shirt to Peter Rapid for alterations- shortening the sleeves, taking it in some and shortening at the bottom. He was charged a whopping $100 for this service! He could have purchased a really nice new dress shirt for much less. At first she was going to charge extra for cleaning it but then at the last minute agreed to include cleaning. This is disgraceful that a business would take advantage of a person this way, especially in this economy where we are all just barely keeping our heads above water. NEVER NEVER NEVER give this place your business! They will rip you off!! read more

Called them at 11am said I needed pants hemmed and pressed along with my suit jacket and asked if it could all be done by 330pm, which is a very tall order, but they did it!! I spilled marinara sauce on a very expensive $1400 Gucci sweater and was certain it was ruined; however, Peter Rabid was able to remove the stain and it looks as good as new and they only charged me $15. Highly recommended! read more

We brought our daughters wedding dress in to be repaired and cleaned in early November. We had to pay up front because they said people don't pick up the dresses. They said it would be ready Dec 26. When we went to pick it up, they were closed on the 26th. We returned the 27th to find that it was still on the rack where we brought it in and was not touched. They said to come back in 4 days. We did. Nothing was done. We wanted to take the dress back, get our money back and bring it elsewhere. The guy behind the counter said he doesn't give refunds. He never did anything and refused to give back our money. My wife called the police for assistance and the guy said he'd have it done in 2 hours. He was going to clean and repair a wedding dress in 2 hours? When we arrived 2 hours later, nothing was done but the dress was put in a box. Of course we looked at it and nothing was done. We asked for the money back but they again said no. We called the police once again to get a report and will now take them to small claims court for charging for services never rendered. Be careful with these folks. They are not worthy of your business. read more

What the other guy said. Its a dry cleaner. They are friendly and close to home. Its not cheap, but if you wanted cheap you'd go to a laundromat... Haven't tried their stain removal skills but everything looks great when i pick it up. The women who owns the place is the one to deal with. Her "man" in the back will help you early and late in the day but doesn't seem to know how to use the computer so he writes the orders on a slip... read more

I needed some cleaning done in a short time frame, and I called over the phone to get a quote. It sounded reasonable enough to me, so I dropped off my clothes. When I came to pick them up, I was charged $5 more than I was quoted. I brought this to their attention, and apparently there was a surcharge for the rush order that WASN'T included in my quote (despite me explicitly telling them that I needed the cleaning done that day). Even more infuriating, the lady at the desk tried to make me feel guilty by saying "I lost a customer while I was on the phone with you because I had to be in the back of the store" (!). I specifically went to this dry cleaner since it had same day or 1 day service. Went with the review above since there wasn't an extra charge. There is. They just don't tell you there's an extra charge. The prices aren't posted regarding what it costs to have your clothes cleaned and if you want same day or 1-2 day service it's 3.00 extra per piece. Inconsistent pricing but quality work. I recently took a pair of pants to be hemmed and two hockey jerseys to have National Patches tacked on. I have had both services completed at other cleaners. Unfortunately I didn't ask pricing because there seems to be a standard which is about $15 for a Hem and $2-5 for the patches. When I returned to pick them up the bill was $47.00. When I asked, SHOCKED, what the pricing was, they had charged $15.00 to sew on each 4" Nationals Patch. I shared my experience with the pricing for this job (this is our 3rd time for this service) she just said it was done well. Trust me, I will not be returning without asking what they are charging for their services! This is highway robbery! read more
