I specifically advised the partner in charge of handling my tax return at the beginning of the engagement - that I would require an extension as I was about to enter the hospital to undergo a medical procedure. He was new to me. I was constantly told and hounded by one of their administrative staff they would require immediate payment for services. I had advised this same person several times I would pay my invoice as soon as my medical procedure was completed and I was released from the hospital. ( I always pay my bills.) Despite advising this person several times of my situation, and having advised the partner in charge of my situation, at the very beginning of the engagement with him, this administrative person who was extremely obnoxious would not let up. The invoice was not very large, a little over $500. The only reason I wound up with this firm was I previously used a former partner of the firm, who did OK but not great work on my tax returns. My wife at the time was friends with one of the accountant partners wife of this firm. This prior partner did not know and could not handle the tax information for 529 accountants very well. As I had 3 sons who fortunately now have all graduated from college. I had to literally walk him through the 529 tax information each year and how to handle it. He is now retired, fortunately. My advice to you is to stay away from this accounting firm unless you like being constantly and relentlessly pressured.

If a business relationship starts like this, it speaks volumes about the character of who you are in business with. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're looking for an accountant who thinks that selling you on his services through his own 'required' 2-step sales process (reinforced multiple times as a "free consultation"/ doing you a favor), then you've found your match. Dario makes it clear throughout his sales process that he's providing you a "free" service & consultation by selling/ informing you of his services (completely bizarre by any normal sales standards). Beyond that, he truly believes it reinforces his value to charge transactional fees - like cancellation fees - for new client consults (folks that haven't even signed up with him yet!) Clearly a misguided attempt to appear valuable while losing the forest for the trees. To his credit, Dario seems knowledgeable (maybe?), but his approach leaves much to be desired. While touting ,"white glove"/ relationship-based, his actions denonstrate that he's highly transactional and "pay-for-play" - not exactly what you'd expect from a thought partner in high-level professional services. Further, he refuses to share his legal contract (extremely unusual business practice - if not teetering on legal/ ethical boundaries). He will review it with you live (ok, fine), but he'll only send it to you if you agree to pay immediately! In fact, he demanded I pay $430/ hour BEFORE I even signed up - simply because I asked for the DocuSign contract and requested to pay upon onboarding in January, which was previously agreed upon. Per his note, I "exhausted my 2 free sales consults", and any further requests - like a Docusign contract - required a ~$500/hr consult fee. Folks, this is bizarro land territory, as I was not requesting any free advice beyond a contract that he guards closely due to irrational competitor fears, which he freely acknowledged. In short, Dario is probably a good accountant (maybe?), but a terribly misguided business person, highly transactional, and not the right choice if youre seeking a thought partner. After his last absurd note regarding a consult fee in exchange for the DocuSign, I resolved it wasn't a fit for me and decided to move on. Then, I received a note from his assistant to the same effect (um...ok!) This further reinforced my impression that Dario is myopic, focused on payment rather than providing value as a partner, and likely to be self-serving/ problematic in the long run, even if his technical work might be sound (unknown?). Best of luck if you go this route (be prepared to pay an exorbitant setup fee, above industry standards, AND a creative $700 cancellation fee). Otherwise, you'll find plenty of stronger /relationship-based alternatives - happy to help as I've done extensive research.

In my experience, important deadlines and consequences were not communicated upfront, despite me relying on him for guidance. There was also an error on my 2024 tax return that led to a $300 IRS bill, which I provided to him when he prepared my 2025 taxes. Unfortunately, that issue was not addressed and has since gone into collections. Communication has been a major issue throughout. Emails often take three to four weeks for a response, and phone calls are rarely returned. I've also followed up multiple times regarding an email he said he would send to the IRS, but it was never completed despite repeated confirmation that it would be handled. Additionally, I was placed on an automatic IRS withdrawal plan that I did not knowingly authorize, and when I asked for clarification, I was told to look it up myself online rather than receiving assistance or resolution. Overall, I did not feel supported or properly informed, and the lack of responsiveness made an already stressful situation much worse. Based on my experience, I would not recommend his services
