On Friday, 19th June 2020, I went it to have my shoes stretched by a size oe and he was extremely rude and condescending. I asked him how much to stretch the shoe and to which he said 10$ to which i asked that if I should try the shoe on so that he knows how much further to stretch to which he rudely said no I must just leave the shoe and check after 1 week. Yesterday (30 June) I went in to collect my shoe only to find that he widened the shoe instead of expanding it, which I never at any point asked for. I was in utter shock with his behavior towards me when I pointed out that I needed it expanded. he give me the options and I clearly told him I wanted the shoe expanded by a size. Payment He then went on to say that I have to pay and that I must only cash and then when I queried him on the card machine below by which time another customer had entered the shop just behind me he suddenly changed his tune and says I can pay by card which I found very weird. I was pretty much forced to pay for something i didnt ask for. He then went on to say that he explained to me about his 2 different charges for stretching it wide or long which he CLEARLY did not because he was in a hurry to get rid of me that day when I went to drop of the shoe. He also went on to say that he's been running the shoe business for 25 years and how honest he is and he would never do such a thing. I am not surprised after reading the below mentioned experiences of other customers. This person has no regard for customer service and is very condescending and so rude that it shocks me as to how he's still in business. I would stay very clear of this place and would not recommend it to anyone. I'm sure there's many other reliable places that this. The person looks vert shady, dishonest and can not be trusted one bit and it is now very evident how he makes his living by ripping people off. read more

Peter does FANTASTIC work! I've been going to Peter for years to have a lift installed on one shoe, and he's done at least 6 pairs. If the soles support it, he'll do it. Most other places WON'T DO THIS WORK. Over time things wear out and if anything needs a small fix, he does it free of charge years later! For the miserable rascists that feel they need to give him a hard time, I suggest have a little compassion and understand English is not his first language. When true craftsmen like Peter retire, good luck trying to find someone else who'll do good work like this at a fair price!! Chill out and drop the attitude. I went here to buy some shoe dye. I called to see if he carried a color I wanted and he said yes but he did not tell me he does NOT take cheques, bank cards or credit cards. cash ONLY!!! so I went all the way there for nothing because I didn't have enough cash on me. When I told the owner he should have warned me, he was rude and said he didn't care that I couldn't get cash nearby, etc.. The shoe dye brands he has are expensive and he probably should charge less since it is cash only. I went to speedy shoe repair and they had better quality dye that was less expensive AND they take credit cards. read more

Peter's Shoe Repair is amazing! I've been coming here for a few years now for my shoes and leather handbags. Excellent service, and the owner gives very honest advice on what needs to be fixed/altered and never overcharges you for his alterations. Always goes above and beyond (ex. he once reinforced the stitching on a few of my handbag straps without extra charge) and usually has them done within a day or two. Very reasonable pricing as well- I've been to a lot of other cobblers in Vancouver and Peter's Shoe Repair has the most reasonable pricing I've seen. read more

I cannot even give this a rating... even a 1 would be too good for Peter... This individual should NEVER be in business.. He is rude.. overpriced and so much more.. and we believe he gets away with his abuse because he is #1.. in a mall.. #2.. where elderly people live within walking distance and is the easiest for them to get to. My husband and I walked in the other day to hear "Peter" berating and shaming an elderly woman. He was impatient to say the least. If he had spoken to MY mother like this, I would have beat him with the purse being brought in for repair.. Another customer was shamed telling them that EVERYTHING they brought in was "junk".. 1 of the items was a back back[ bought brand new for 175.00 at mountain co op]Hardly JUNK..Peter actually asked this customer "why did your husband buy this piece of junk".. This back pack needed a double waterproof zipper replaced. Peter quoted her 70.00 for a "single zipper" and stated that he couldn't do waterproof or a double zipper... After hearing him with 3 customers before us.. We WALKED OUT! and would NEVER return.. We left this hell hole and went over to Moody Shoe Repair.. The difference was like heaven and hell.. Harley at Moody Shoe repair was so respectful.. no job too small nor too large for repair.. he quoted 40.00 for the same back pack to be repaired with the waterproof double zipper..Yes... that customer was US.... We brought in several items to Moody Shoe Repair and picked them up yesterday.. We were absolutely amazed at the workmanship from Harley at Moody Shoe Repair....We were not charged for ALL of these items. Peter wanted to charge 70.00 for the back pack alone... and 20.00 each for the tiny minimal repairs to the straps on the purses.. Harley charged 10.00 for each purse and did one for free.. For decades we have looked high and low for good repair shops.. Places like "Peter's Shoe Repair" are a dime a dozen..... and you actually pay for the abuse there! NO THANKS!!.. Harley at Moody Shoe Repair is a 1 in a million business with an incredible work ethic. We have finally found thee perfect place to take our jewels for repair... Harley, with Moody Shoe Repair is amazing... Harley is the BEST! read more
