I was assigned to Rosenquest & Associates by my insurance company to handle an illegal lockout and…read moreutility shutoff, among other things. I was stuck with him on this matter for over a year. Nils wrote the book on landlord-tenant law. A book, at least. He knows what he's talking about and gives decent advice. Nonetheless, he is possibly the worst attorney that I have ever hired, and I have hired many. The supervening reason why he doesn't get at least two stars: I asked him to draft a complaint for a separate case and assigned him the case through my insurance company. He led me along for months and ultimately never did it. This egregious breach of trust--frankly constituting malpractice--was enough for me to pull the one star I was going to give him for that. Let's talk about responsiveness. After the first couple discussions, Nils would take weeks to respond to almost any of my messages. There was at least one two week period where I desperately required an update and could not get one no matter how many times I called him or sent him emails. I had certain concerns about signing a document the landlord gave me and he outright ignored me until I came up with my own solution. He's always 'in trial' or 'in a meeting' or 'at a mediation'. It's gotten to the point where there were two times I thought that he had decided that he was no longer representing me. He will lie to your face about this, too--there are numerous times he told me he was working on a document or something of the sort and then took several days before it turned out there was no such document or that the document was like one page. The most egregious example would be when he told me he had sent an email to the other side and it turned out, after a week, that he forgot to send it. There were still some things to be done, but after he got the money from insurance, he ghosted. Only hire Nils if you're not ashamed to call and email once an hour for several weeks when you're waiting on something that must be handled. Every single moment of doubt you give him will be squandered.
