If your child has special needs, I strongly advise against sending them to this school. The staff in the special education program and their aides can emotionally traumatize your child for life and try to push back their education from preventing them to succeed or even to move forward in life. There was one kind staff member, Miss.K, who was very tall and thin with her hair styled in a bun. She previously worked at Eaton Elementary as well. I also remember a kind Chinese woman whose name I believe was either Ms. Lin or Ms. Chan. She was very sweet, but I can't recall her exact name. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff was not very pleasant. As for the food services, please keep your child away from them. The meals provided are inadequate, and your child may go hungry throughout the day. However, I am not sure if California's 2022 policy allowing free meals for all students from pre-K to 12th grade has changed that situation. If you're considering putting your child in this school, I highly recommend waiting a couple of years until some of the current special education faculty members leave. Otherwise, they could negatively impact your child's life and end up leaving serious detrimental issues with your child's success in the long run. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS! Let's fight for systemic justice in educational systems!

Every Monday they have Wahoos. Tuesday they have Subway, Wednesday they have Smoothie King, Thursday they have Papa John's Pizza, and on Fridays they have sushi. The accademics are great. My daughter LOVES physical fitness. once a week they run and they have GREAT units. Her favorite was ultimate frisbee in seventh grade. The teachers are superb! Mr. Oncay (8th grade) has probably been the most helpful. He prepares the students for high school and although he is hard, alot of his old students have had an easy A in language arts in high school. Overall, I'm pretty happy with Lawson, my daughter loves it and I'm sure that for anyone living in the Lawson area will be happy that they will go/went to Lawson

Some of my best years if not best came from my 4 years as a Bruin. It does help that I played football and was pulled early from class every Friday that we had an away game. But still there was no better feeling playing under the lights at Buchser and going to the frat parties after the SCU Broncos played or before a Saturday game.It was epic because I only got that experience my freshman and sophomore year. Aside from football I enjoyed my crowd I hung out with. Till this day we are all still friends...some of us are even employed by the same employer or keep in contact via social media. I got great direction from all my teachers and most of the office.I can go on but SCHS layer out the foundation for me.I has a tough upbringing but my time at Santa Clara gave me some sense of direction. Even after being uprooted to East Side San Jose where I would've became a James Lick Comet my Junior year and on I fought tooth and nail to convince my gramps to let me finish as a Bruin. He was against it but I won...because he let me and I finished my studies by becoming good friends with the VTA 22 line as that was my Uber till my senior year. I can go on for days about my time at SC albeit girlfriends, dances, Wilcox homecoming, my crew, concert choir, cutting to go to Togos or 7-11 to play Mortal Combat or football rallies. Man that was the time of my life and I love being a Bruin. FYI. Heels nah I would've never became a Comet even though I'm from that side of town!Thx Pops for letting me stay Blue and Yellow!!! -class of 94

But he was not prepared that while working like he has never worked before, he would enjoy himself so much in the process. Both, he and I were touched, when more than one of his teachers sendt him encouraging emails, noticing that he worked hard while trying to adjust to the new school and find his own rhythm and method. His Chemistry, Chinese, English, and History teachers were cheering him on, knowing he wanted to take Honors classes next year and were always available for extra help. I have read reviews of Harker, where parents (or their friends) complained about the quality of teachers. In our first year at Harker, I only saw teachers who want their kids to excel, who are experts in their areas, who know how to motivate kids, and help them realize their full potential. When he started at Harker, my son joined DECA club and fell in love with all things marketing and business because of the two teachers and DECA team. He traveled and competed within a few months of joining DECA. He enjoyed his time with the students and made lots of friends. He was happy that he could talk finally with kids about politics, history, as well as other teenage topics. Harker Dance and Theater programs are very impressive. The new theater is beautiful and their boy hip hop dance team is really top notch. I love it that the school with such strong academic emphasis is developing the whole child, offering arts, sports, and really wide variety of activities. Choosing what to spend time on is hard. But it is a good problem to have. I have not heard any complaints from him about unhealthy competition or lack of friends at school. Based on our experience so far, Harker created an environment where kids who love learning get to do just that, learn, and enjoy themselves in the process.

At that time, Mr.Tegley and Coach Henrich were old school fantastic motivators of both moral and achievement! Lot's of great memories. The vice principle,Mr.Simpson did a heap of spanking with his long wood politically incorrect paddle he wield every three days or so. Compared to the laxed attitudes of youngins today.....the discipline of a school like this would have been a back breaker today! Coming from a military school I simply loved it. More later!

She screamed and told my student to shut up and he did likewise... but at least he was polite to say please shut up. I sent email reminder to HR assistant Hi It's happening again. This is the 3rd write up for my son in one week for stupid sh**. Vice principal is on the prowl wants to get as many referrals in to gift my son for graduation.. (I previously informed hr about history with principal when he was at de Vargas and vice principal, when i learned about her verbal abuse at hyde. So thats why assistant hr said to me contact person would be 2nd assistant principal) I continued... Additionally, my son's father heard vice principal screaming at him and so called the office at hyde to tell them NOT to screan at son but screamer coward and refused to speak with him. Again, i sent email to hr assistant at CUSD, She only forwarded email to the principal, aka, Stalker (someone who obsessively watches, follows, or investigates another person) this guy hated my son since Grammer school...mistreated him and allowed racist behavior against him from his race. Violence and bullying was and still is encouraged by this district. Stalker would get mad at me for copying the superintendent... not that she cared.... the only advocate my son had at the district moved . And after another iep meeting, Stalker smiled and said , he's not here anymore, what i say goes. I removed my son from the CUSD district and returned him to complete his middle school. 6th grade was ok until 7th grade, when I learned Stalker was going to be the principal, i knew he was going to target him. Surely enough my son went fron 0 referrals and liked by teachers to 13 referrals the first semester of 7th grade. His narcissistic being strongly influenced the staff there. My son became depressed and suicidal but not good enough for Stalker because my son still alive. My son fell into stalkers plans and traps and just decided to rebel. I replied to CUSD HR... I sent you an email and you forward it to stalker. (Why? CUSD likely urging Hyde to complete the assignment.... eliminate my son, at all costs) That's twisted of u. My son mentioned hurting himself to a friend and he gets called into the office . At the same time Stalker learned about another inçident when my son found a knife, showed to his friends but the friends didn't approve so he got rid of it. Apparently Stalker searched for the disposed knife because he was more interested in suspending him do that he would not attend the graduation. My son was in a room with Both Stalker and screamer, smlling and taunting him saying you're getting suspended and screamer grinning and saying you're not going to the dance. The iep therapist did stay to assure my son would be OK. As she called emergency medical swrvice to evaluate my son. After the suspension was approved, Stalker and screamer were satisfied and left. For now, that is, they have one more task... to not allow my son to graduate with class... this is Stalker's signature.... as he did this last year with other students of color. kids get through this difficult milestone to only not be allowed show anything for it. Again, cusd staff had Zero concerns about his mental well being but instead obsessed over his downfall, according to my son, they were both overjoyed. Hatred and negligence that started from elementary to middle school continue, but Stalker is not done. screamer constantly yelling at students and telling my son he needs to be respectful to elders when she herself is disrespectful. mind you screamer told him to shut up too. WOW CUPERTINO, great role models of a principal and vice principal. Again, no concern for the kid. Only dead set on revenge. HR said they have tenure and can do as they please.

Needless to say, I was shocked when he started crying in the car when I picked him up. Our son shadowed at several South Bay schools including other catholic schools without incident. According to his version, he made eraser marks on his desk in science so the 4th grade science teacher embarrassed him in front of the entire class and made him stay after to clean a row of desks as punishment. My child has NEVER been in trouble at school and is a "A" student. So my initial thought was it must be a simple misunderstanding. Giving the school and teacher the benefit of the doubt, I politely reached out to the principal for clarification on what happened so I could make an informed decision about the school. The response from the principal was a short "picking a school can be hard so take your time" as if the incident didn't happen, was a normal occurrence, or simply supported the teacher's actions. Yes. My son may have accidentally put eraser marks on a desk. But he was also a scared 9-year-old guest nervous and self-conscious not knowing anyone and unaware of the classroom rules. Rather than feeling safe and engaged, he felt humiliated and belittled. The teacher even made a comment "if he did it again next time" oblivious he was a guest. How does a teacher not know all the students in her class 5 months into the year? Needless to say the school was not for us.
