Could not find advanced online booking, so we walked in. After entering, there was a table on the left to fill up the rental form. Then walked up to the counter at the furthest right to pay. They held a credit card charge slip as deposit. We took a three-days package for $60+tax per person. We were able to get the gears and headed to the ski within 10 minutes, which was quite efficient. After two-and-half days, we hurried back by 6pm for the return. They checked the numbers on the rental and signed off our forms. It was another quick and smooth transaction. read more

Outstanding customer service! The whole staff is very attentive to their customers' needs and makes time for each person regardless of how busy they get! We were there during the peak ski season to get rentals for the kids and service for my skis, and we came out purchasing used skis for the kids for a great deal. The guys couldn't be nicer. Extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Chris in particular helped us a ton with our decision. They have a YouTube page that helps explain servicing your skis. And their prices are very reasonable. I have been a customer of Peterson's for over 10 years. When I wanted to go out West skiing and wanted to turn better in deeper snow and off piste, Eric provided the right sized and perfect ski. Still have that pair skis! I have been going more lately for tuneups and service on my Trek bikes. They are generally fast with turnaround, obviously depends, on backlog. The mechanics all are knowledgeable about bikes, especially Treks. One of these days, when mountain bikes are available again, I may finally upgrade to a newer Trek. We forgot our ski poles at home and decided to pick up some extras instead of renting just poles for the week. This shop had friendly folks, were helpfully open at 8am so we could stop in before the slopes opened, and we're stocked with anything we could have needed. One of the ways that one knows when really good service has been provided is when, after the work has been done, as as one drives away, the conversation turns to discussing the person who helped you. We took a couple of bikes to Peterson's to get them serviced, and when we got there, the character who was on duty was clearly not only a super friendly extrovert of a nice guy, but also a cool bike nerd. With just a glance he seemed to know everything about the bikes, both of which were vintage from the 80s, and gave us honest advise on what was needed to bring them up to safe riding condition. He also talked a lot about just about anything that the conversation went to, and soon we discovered that he's training to be a 18-wheeler truck driver... But I digress... On our next visit to the area - several weeks later - we came by to pick up the bikes, and of course this nice guy remembered us as if we were his best customers. The bikes were superbly re-done and I was shocked at how inexpensive the labor and parts were. I give this joint my highest possible recommendation. read more

Competitive rental prices, with speedy repairs. Stopped by Peterson's to outfit an armada of NYC ski newbies on their way to JFBB. As the mountain was pretty puny by any non-Midwestern comparison, nobody needed the latest or greatest in ski technology; Peterson's delivered sturdy, well-tuned rentals. Also left a pair of skis overnight for an emergency core shot repair, and they turned it around with plenty of time to spare. As it was a rush job, the seal wasn't quite perfect, but we'll see how it holds up the next time the skis get taken for a spin. Only downside is rental desk thoroughput. As it is a small shop, huge logjams become evident once there are more than 4 people looking to rent at a given time. This is tough if the reason for hitting an off-mountain shop is to avoid lines at the resort. read more

This place is pretty awesome and here is why. The people were very friendly and accommodating! Ski rental prices were dirt cheap at $16 with insurance! At first the hours were alarming because they closed at 8pm on a Saturday and 6pm on a Sunday. It was alarming because if you went skiing in the evening, the slopes don't shut down until 9pm-10pm. But... there is nothing to be alarmed about because there is a drop box outside! Unlike other rental places, you must have your rentals back at a certain time. If your car battery was dead or other unforeseen problems would arise to delay you from returning your ski's on time, you would be charged for another day and would have to drive back to the rental place to return them. With a drop box, you are golden and don't feel pressed to return the equipment by a certain time. More skiing up to closing time, less worrying about ski returning time. One minor problem I found was the GPS was not correct. It's in fact, just a little further down the road than the GPS will tell you your destination is, so don't panic. Parking is in front of the building and we had no problems finding a parking spot. The building is almost next to a Wawa, so that's what you will want to look for. I would recommend renting from this place rather than renting from your ski location. read more

I stopped at Peterson's to replace a pair of broken ski boots, that I had purchased at a ski swap meet about 30 years ago. They were very attentive and responsive to my special needs - I have short wide feet and normally have to get shoes 3-4 sizes too large to fit my width. He said I have just what you need and brought out an Atomic brand boot specially designed for wide feet. They fit perfectly and were significantly better than my old boots on the slopes. A group of 6 of us stopped by here on our way to ski at Jack Frost Big Boulder. Rentals were $20 per person, saving us $16 each compared to on the mountain. The equipment was a good quality and the people were very helpful. They sell all other skiing accessories that you might need or may have forgotten. Rentals are 24 hours.
