I cannot believe anyone eats here. The service and food was terrible and insanely overpriced. This was last week, 830pm on a week night. Needless to say they were not busy at all. Upon entering, the hostess had a bad attitude as soon as we requested a booth. She asked if a half booth would be ok and we stated that we would prefer a full booth. Picture a row of 5 booths and a few people in booth number 1 and no one in any surrounding tables. She huffed and puffed for a minute before saying "fine" and took us to booth number 5. We'll start with the table was sticky. I ordered the Italian sub with fries and my husband ordered the calzone. His calzone was awful. The so called shaved ribeye was nasty pieces of fatty, stringy, freezer burnt death. He tried picking it off but there was so much of it and the taste was over powering. My Italian sub, (ordered and received without tomatoe) was so terrible I can't believe they serve this. Looked like crappy prepackaged lunch meat you'd find at Aldi. It was layered as a slice of American cheese, a thin circle slice of questionable ham, lettuce, peppers, a thin slice of salami and a thin layer of mozzarella cheese. I was honestly shocked at this sub sandwich I was served. The fries had potential but were very under cooked. The waitress was nice enough, but never even cracked a smile and didn't come round much. I will never go here again, I will never recommend this place and I will tell anyone willing to listen how awful this place is. Save your money people!! Was there yesterday, Sunday May 27th! The food was disgusting! I had the steak, over cooked, full of fat, not medium and then for some strange reason they chose to put Blue Cheese on top of it that overpowered the taste of the steak! My wife got the combo platter! The chicken wings were so overcooked they were almost black! The mini tacos were old tasting, stuck together like they had been reheated! Service took forever, and our friend had the fish tacos and as she said: I eat here all the time and I am so so sorry, even my fish tacos are frikkin cold!! NEVER EVER AGAIN! We really like Pete's and go there often. The food is very good. The pizza is surprisingly good since they are not a pizza place. MANAGEMENT- PLEASE do something about the fries. The worst wings I can remember having. Not just badly prepared, although they were over cooked, but they tasted like they were frozen for years, or well past fresh. Dripping in oil, the blue cheese dressing slid right off. I've never seen that before. I was worried when my waitress said it was $0.35 wing day. How can a wing be that cheap? We went for the first time here on a Tuesday night and didn't know they had a special on wings every Tuesday. 35¢ wings and 50¢ shrimp. There is a couple conditions though. #1 you have to buy $1.99 item with them (fries were delicious). #2 you can only eat them THERE. NO TO GO BOX ALLOWED. All that said the wings were awesome! Best sports bar & grill in the Monroe area if you ask me. The waitstaff is friendly and service is good. The bar area is large and drink menu is plentiful. The food is bar food, but good bang for your buck. There are a few items on the menu that come in very large portion size which are indicated on the menu. The Pizza Calzone is good . There are 2 levels here. Both booths and table sitting are offered here. You can sit in an old classic car body if you want too. There are lots of big screen HD TV screens to view sports on. The waitstaff will put on tv whatever you prefer to watch if you ask them. There is also a pool table area seperate from the bar area if you like to shoot pool. There is also a digital music player to play whatever songs you would like, but no karoke here to my knowledge. read more

Got a pint of the same beer at another local place (Northside Bar and Grill) earlier that day (we're on vacation), for $4.75. Pete's Garage $13.50, Northside $4.75, you can decide if the ridiculous price difference is worth it. We just ordered soup for dinner, Mushroom and Chicken noodle. Both were barely lukewarm. Decided to try this place the other night, should have changed my mind. Place was pretty empty but they seated us in the far back table right next to the kitchen, bathroom and server station. Although our waitress was extremely nice and patient with our questions, the food was terrible. I ordered the fish with onion rings instead of fries. The fish was something you would get out of a box from the store, onion rings were greasy as if they were put in oil that wasn't hot. My coleslaw was so riddled with pepper I couldn't eat it and the tarter sauce had some type of hot pepper in you couldn't taste anything else. My friend ordered a burger which was dry and tasteless, although her curly fries were good. Thankfully I didn't get burned when they came out of the kitchen with fajitas for another table and raised it over my head as to not hit me. I ordered a raspberry margarita on special for $1.99, it was surprisingly good although didn't understand why they put it in a plastic cup. I guess when you get a cheap drink you don't get a good glass. My friend ordered a drink, in a glass, but might as well been in a shot glass it was so small and watered down. Hostess and waitress were very friendly, talkative, attentive, and polite. The food was excellent, I'd highly recommend the Chicago style pizza for a party of two and their fried ice cream is to die for with honey drizzle. Just awful. We brought the kids to dinner...ordered off of the kids menu for them and Mexican for us. After waiting almost an hour, and everyone around us served, our server noticed a problem. She assured us twice that our food was coming, only half up. Ya da ya da ya da. My tacos came out ice cold. I let her know and she was like...I only need 45 seconds! Then she brought out our side of cheese nachos. I went to help put them down...instantly burned my finger...big blister...she brought me ice. Tacos were still cold. Came in here last night with my buddy. We split wings and the beef tips. The wings were good, but in retrospect, I probably would have preferred to order them plain and then dipped them in the sauce after the fact. The sauce made them pretty soggy. They are, however, bigger than the standard chicken wing. 7.99 for 10 is a good value. The beef tips were good, but nothing extraordinary. I probably would venture to try something else next time. They had $1 burgers on Monday. Neither of us tried them, but I thought it was a really good deal nonetheless. His first drink was a dewars on the rocks, which came out looking like vodka - pretty much clear. I'm not one to complain about a pour...but I thought this was exceptionally light. I was drinking $2 bottles of Bud Light so no complaints there. The service was phenomenal. I stood in the doorway for about 30 seconds (after I had been helped) and two other servers asked me if I had been helped. So...it was nice that not one person walked by without acknowledging my presence. The menu seemed pretty extensive and varied for bar fare. I'd like to come back and try a couple other items. I'm kind of at a 3.5 with this place, but when I have to choose between 3 and 4, I think 3 is more appropriate for the time being. I've been going to Pete's for years, surviving many changes in the floor plan and the menu. It's a unique place, especially if you get to sit in one of the cars. I don't have kids but I'd imagine they would love that sort of thing. The place is kind of segmented, with a bar area, a seating area with the cars, another larger seating area on the second floor, and a sort-of-basement area with some pool tables. I used to come here all the time to play pool, but they don't have as many tables as they used to have. Most have disappeared since the remodel about ten years ago or so. Kind of shame but I don't think that was their greatest source of business. Lots of television screens so you can catch just about every game that's on especially if you're downstairs. Upstairs there's a large projector screen that usually has the big game of the day on. The parking lot is HORRIBLE and they should be ashamed of it. Since the remodel it's been a pain to park here. I'm sure there's a guideline they're meeting with a parking spaces to square footage ratio, but you run the risk of getting trapped in a spot or having your car dinged when you park here. For that reason, I rarely go when it's busy anymore and that's a shame because that's when Pete's is most fun. Food here is usually pretty great... I like the Cadillac Club (HUGE club sandwich), the pizza sub, and the regular old Garage Burger with cheese. A lot of my friends enjoy their fajitas. They're trying to promote more unique beers these days, but they do a poor job at it. There's a beer menu but it's not what they're actually serving. It's just a bunch of logos. Right when you walk in you get a garage vibe. There are traffic signs and cars that you can actually sit in to eat. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is really good and you don't have to wait long for it which is a plus. The music choice is very unique. You could hear a Katy Perry song and a 2 Chainz song right after. I really don't mind it though, just something I noticed. This place is also great for groups. We are always satisfied with our food. The service is generally friendly and the staff is quick to fix any mishaps that may have occurred if your order is wrong.
